Welcome - We invite you to read a short biography about each of our wonderful teachers. Whether their degree is from Duquesne University, Penn State or anywhere else, they all continue their education through Goddard University! Of course the best way to learn about our teachers and what they can do for your child is to meet them in person! Just give us a call and we will be happy to introduce you!
Miss Diane - Diane is the Director of The Goddard School®. She graduated from Youngstown State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Development. She has been with our School since 2008. Since she graduated from college, Diane has been involved with various preschool programs as an assistant teacher, lead teacher and director. We are lucky to have a director with her level of experience!
Miss Tami - Tami is the Co-Director at The Goddard School. Tami has a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Eastern Illinois University. She has worked with children for over 30 years, including experience in an infant program, preschools and elementary schools.
Miss Sandy, Infant Room - Sandy has over 18 years of experience teaching in Infant Programs. She has a BS and Master's degree in Education from Missouri and recently received her Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education. Sandy has been with us since June 2008. Her knowledge and experience makes her a great asset to our Infant Room.
Miss Danielle, Infant Room - Danielle started working in childcare at the age of 18 while in high school and has loved working with children ever since. She graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in Child Development and Child Psychology. Danielle was born and raised in Wexford, and still lives in the area with her husband and daughter.
Miss Hope, Infant Room - Hope graduated from Carlow College with a degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. She has over seven years' experience with one-year-olds and has been working in our infant room since July of 2010. She loves seeing the growth and development of the babies; they seem to do something new every day!
Miss Anne, Infant Room Anne has experience workinig in childcare and in a middle school setting. She has lived in the area for 25 years, and has raised two children of her own. She's worked in many different fields, and considers raising her children the best job anyone could have.
Miss Victoria, Infant Room Victoria is a graduate from Duquesne University. She has experience working with children as a nanny for four children and as a teacher of gifted and disadvantaged youth. She has a calm demeanor that works well with our babies.
Miss Katie, First Steps - Katie has a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Penn State University. She has been involved in childcare for over 20 years. She has been with Goddard School since the summer of 2008.
Miss Mandi, First Steps Mandi has an Elementary Education degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She has worked with children of all ages in both childcare and school settings. Mandi loves to see the everyday growth of her First Steppers; she says they keep her smiling throughout the day!
Miss Teresa, Pre-Toddlers - Teresa has worked in Early Childhood Education since 2006. She received her BA in English from Duquesne University. Teresa loves to sing and is a creative and innovative teacher at The Goddard School.
Miss Kayla, Pre-toddlers - In May 2010, Kayla graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. She has worked with all ages of children in both a childcare and school setting. Kayla has an innate love of children and is always trying something new in her classroom.
Miss Cindy, Toddlers - Cindy holds a degree in Elementary Education from La Roche College and has worked in the public school system and has taught preschool in a Montessori program before coming to Goddard. Cindy has been with us since we opened in 2008. We often see her and her class parading through the school with their instruments. Cindy is a hands-on teacher, whom we often regard as an expert when it comes to toddlers!
Miss Adrienne, Toddlers - Miss Adrienne graduated with a degree in Health and Physical Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She's excited to be working with the toddlers who seem to learn something new every day.
Miss Jocelynn, Get Set - Jocey graduated from Slippery Rock University with a degree in Health and Physical Education. She is also a certified personal trainer. Jocey has been with our school since 2008, and we have used her physical education knowledge to help develop our Base Fitness Program. She and Miss Renee are potty training geniuses!
Miss Renee, Get Set - Renee graduated from California University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Elementary Education. Renee has also been with us since 2008. She and Jocey make a terrific team in the Get Set classroom. They work hard at preparing older toddlers for preschool.
Miss Pam, Preschool - Pam has been a teacher for over 25 years and loves the early childhood years. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education from Clarion University. Pam has been a teacher in our school since the year we opened (2008). Pam is the mother of two children, and brings her "mother's touch" to the preschool classroom.
Miss KaraLisa, Preschool - KaraLisa has her Elementary and Special Education degrees from Westminster College. She has many years' experience with children of all ages. She has taught in Vacation Bible School, on mission trips and in the school setting. KaraLisa has also been a nanny for the past couple years. She is looking forward to all the new phrases and vocabulary the toddlers learn!
Miss Ashley, Preschool Ashley is a graduate from St. Bonaventure University, located in western New York. She has a BS degree in both Elementary and Special Education. Ashley is an energetic teacher with enthusiasm that is infectious!
Miss Kristin, Pre-K - Kristin has a degree in Child and Family Studies and has worked with every age group of children from infant to pre-kindergarten. She has several years' experience working in childcare. Kristin and her teaching partner, Amanda, make sure they put the "fun" in Goddard's FLEX (Fun Learning Experience) Program.
Miss Amanda, Pre-K - Amanda has a degree in Early Childhood and Special Education from New York University. She has over six years of experience as a preschool teacher, and three years' experience teaching Special Ed. in an elementary school. Amanda has helped the other Pre-K and Kindergarten teachers to implement our new Smartboards into their classrooms. She is an upbeat teacher who will keep you smiling!
Miss Rebekah, Pre-K - Rebekah graduated from Point Park University with a degree in Elementary Education. She was a third grade teacher in York, Pennsylvania, before moving to Pittsburgh. Rebekah has been at The Goddard School since 2008. She and her co-teacher, Miss Casey, work very hard at preparing the children with the social and academic skills they need to begin Kindergarten.
Miss Casey, Pre-K - Casey graduated from Duquesne University in 2009 with her Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. At Duquesne's Child Development Center, she was a preschool teacher, working with children ages three to five. Casey and her co-teacher, Rebekah, create a positive environment for the children to learn. They do a great job teaching Kindergarten readiness.
Miss Lee, Kindergarten - Lee has her Bachelor's degree in both Elementary and Special Education. She has taught a wide range of students over the years, from preschool up through intellectually-challenged adults in the regular education, special education, and alternative school settings. Lee develops her lesson plans by using Goddard's FLEX (Fun Learning Experience) Program, Pennsylvania State Standards and Enrichment programs. Our full-day Kindergarten allows Lee the opportunity to teach one on one, in small groups, and large groups.
Miss Emily, Floating Teacher Emily graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a BS degree in Child and Family Studies. She has experience working with toddlers and student teaching in preschool classrooms. Emily has taught in our Preschool room since 2008. Emily is presently a student at Duquesne University for her education degree. She is currently a floating teacher, helps out in all of our classrooms.
Miss Sue, Assistant Teacher - Sue graduated with a BS degree from the School of Home Economics at Indiana University of Pennsylvania with concentrations in child development and business. Her work experience began many years ago as an Assistant Director for a Pittsburgh area childcare learning center. She has also worked for several years as Support Staff for her local school district at all five schools ranging from elementary to high school levels. Sue is also known as our school's Art Director. She does a wonderful job decorating our school!
Miss Nicole, Assistant Teacher - Nicole is a senior at Robert Morris University currently studying Elementary Education with a Science concentration. She has volunteered for the TRY (Together for Retarded Youth) organization since she was seven-years-old. Nicole was been a wonderful asset to our school. She has been a great help in all our classrooms, from infants to Kindergarten.
Miss Melanie, Assistant Teacher Melanie graduated from Westminster College with a degree in Elementary Education. She is one of nine children in her family and has been around children her whole life. Melanie is an additional teacher in our Infant room, and will also assist in other classrooms.
Miss Carole-Marie, Assistant Teacher Carole-Marie is a Junior at Westminster College. She is studying Early Childhood and Special Education. She has experience working with infants through elementary age children, and she will be able to assist teachers in all classrooms.
