Faculty Bios

Westerville III, OH

Owners -
Jeff and Sandy are long time residents of the area and live minutes from the School. Both of their daughters, now married, are involved in childcare. Jeff and Sandy are excited for the opportunity to serve the community with a respected, quality childcare provider.

Director -
Valerie Inman is our School's Director. She has a Bachelor's degree in Human Development and Family Science with a specialization in Early Childhood Education from The Ohio State University. She has worked with children of all ages in various childcare centers since 2003. She joined our family in June 2007 and our very lucky to have her here at our Goddard School.

Assistant Director -
Sarah Goldsmith comes to us with a degree in Early Childhood Education from Ashland University. She was our Private Kindergarten teacher for the 2010-2011 and was promoted to Assistant Director the summer of 2011. She says the most important thing a teacher or administrator can do is support their students and and colleagues in meeting their goals. She believes all children are unique and that it is the job of the teacher to provide multiple avenues so that children can learn to the best of their ability. We are so blessed to have her with us.

Bouncing Bears Faculty (Infants) -
Ms. Janet comes to Goddard with many years of experience. She loves watching the children grow and develop new skills everyday. The children love Ms. Janet and look for her even after they move up!

Ms. Holly attended the Fort Hayes Early Childhood Development Career Center and obtained her CDA for Infants and Toddlers. She loves the smile that each baby puts on her face each day.

Ms. Telithia began teaching early childhood education in 2002. Since that time she has developed a strong love and nurturing personality for the little ones. She came to us with wonderful references and a folder full of trainings. She said that the most important thing a teacher can do is be there every day to build trust with each individual child.

Lovable Lions Faculty (Infants) -
Ms. Kyleigh joined our Goddard family in September 2011 as support staff.  In December 2011 she became the Lead Teacher.  She has a degree in Communication from Kent State University with several Early Childhood classes. She is attending Ashland University to obtain her teaching license. Ms. Kyleigh believes that all children are "sponges." She says children learn best and use their creativity when they are given basic guidelines but are allowed to have their freedom and make mistakes. We are very excited to have her energy in our first steps classroom!

Ms. Brittney attended Coppin State University and is now attending Columbus State Community College with a major in English and Early Childhood Education. Ms. Brittney says that gaining a child's trust is a major step to education. She said that once you establish a trusting relationship they are always willing to see where you are coming from, even if they are a little hesitant of the situation, they will give it a try because they trust you as a teacher.

Ms. June obtained her Music of Education degree from Kent State University. Music is such a large part of a child's life and to have someone with the ability to sing, play and teach such young children the value of songs and finger plays is a blessing. She said that her love for children began at an early age and she has not wanted to do anything else but teach since then.

Gentle Giraffes Faculty (Toddlers) -
Ms. Jane received her degree in Early Childhood Education from The Ohio State University. She said that she wants both the parents and children to feel welcome and safe in her learning environment. She believes that at a young age it is important to build the foundation for a great learning career.

Ms. Hallie graduated Magna Cum Laude from The Ohio State University with a degree in Japanese. After graduation she spent several years in Japan teaching English to children of all ages. When she returned back to the States she realized how much she loved teaching! She spent a few years teaching toddlers with challenging behaviors before joining our Goddard family in December 2011. Her patience and creative ideas are a wonderful addition to our toddler room!

Marvelous Monkeys Faculty (Get Set) -
Ms. Stephanie M. is the Lead Teacher in our Monkey classroom. She received her CDA the fall of 2011. She also enjoys involving our parents as much as possible. Ms. Stephanie loves coming up with new sensory activities for the older toddlers to explore! She says that she feels blessed to take care of the children at our school. Ms. Stephanie has been a part of our family since December 2008.

Ms. Lindsey is a Teacher in our Marvelous Monkeys room. We are lucky to have her at our school.  She believes that providing fun ways of learning through play and including the children in the lesson plans is the most important thing an Early Childhood Educator can do. She also thinks that all children are a blessing. Her favorite past time is hanging out with her family and spoiling her niece and nephew!

Eager Elephants Faculty ((Preschool 1)) -
Ms. Ashley is a Co-Lead Teacher with Ms. Shaina in our Preschool 1 class. She has her degree in Education from Indiana University. Ms Ashley joined our family in October 2011. She feels that education is the most powerful tool we can give children to make them successful adults. We are very excited to have her at our Goddard!

Ms. Shaina joined our family in April 2009 and is a Co-Lead Teacher in our Eager Elephant room with Ms. Ashley. She believes that each child is different, so a teacher should be flexible with their teaching philosophy. She is very hands-on and loves making new things with the children each day. She believes when it comes to children you should be right down on the floor with them playing - which is exactly what we encourage at our school! Ms. Shaina is currently taking classes to obtain her CDA and will be finished June 2012.


Terrific Turtles Faculty (Preschool 2) -
Ms. Barb originally joined our Goddard Family in 2005. After a year off she is now back with us and we couldn't be more excited. There is nothing better than walking by her room and seeing the children fully engaged in making homemade applesauce, butter and whipped cream. Ms. Barb is the type of teacher that lives and breathes early childhood education. I can guarantee that your child will teach you something after they finish their academic year with her.

Ms. Kendra comes to us with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from The Ohio State University. She has a bubbly personality that is contagious from the moment you meet her. She says that every child has a desire to learn, and it is essential that every educator help spark that passion they have for learning.

Super Snakes Faculty (Pre-K 1) -
Ms. Paige obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree from The Ohio State University with a focus in Pre-Education. She believes that children are active learners and develop based on their environmental influences, and that the people or things that surround them play a huge role. She feels that it is her duty as a teacher to be caring, patient, kind, stimulating and active with her class. Ms. Paige joined our family in October of 2010.

Ms. Sherelle comes to us from The Ohio State University and a Bachelor of Science degree with a focus in Early Childhood Education. She says that the most important thing a teacher can do is LOVE their job, and we couldn't agree more. Ms. Sherelle's ultimate goal is to create change and help produce valuable well rounded members of society.

Amazing Alligators Faculty (Pre-K 2) -
Ms. Angel comes to us with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Art Therapy from Capital University. She came to our school in 2009 and believes that children learn best through hands-on learning. She says that teachers that have fun teaching have students who love learning.

Ms. Ali is currently attending Central Ohio Technical College pursuing her degree in Early Childhood Education. Her teaching philosophy is all about hands-on learning. She also feels that parent communication is a crucial part in a child's education. She wants the parents to feel comfortable asking her questions at any time and welcomes volunteer readers and helpers to her classroom.

Support Faculty
Ms. Emily has been part of our Goddard family since November 2008 and has played many roles throughout the school. She has her Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education  from Central Ohio Technical College. Ms. Emily works very hard where ever she is needed and loves spending time with every single classroom!
