Choosing Childcare
Welcome to The Goddard School® located in Waldorf, Maryland near Westlake Fire Department.
The Goddard School can make a positive difference in your child's life. Our warm, loving atmosphere features a year-round extended day program from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Our program is designed to enhance the emotional, social, intellectual and physical development of your child from six weeks to six years of age. We also offer after-school enrichment and a summer program for children up to ten years of age.
We are committed to providing the finest early childhood education in a safe and nurturing environment. Approved by the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE), The Goddard School philosophy is to provide an atmosphere suited to the development of self-esteem, confidence and a Lifelong Love of Learning. With professionally educated teachers, we provide an outstanding program in an environment that offers the best equipment and is specifically designed for young children.

The goal of The Goddard School FLEX™ learning program is to use fun and creative activities to foster a love of learning. We challenge our students by promoting learning and discovery through exploration of the world around them. This instills a sense of confidence in their ability to master new situations and tasks through reasoning. Your child will be exposed to a variety of teaching methods so that they will be ready to enter any elementary school.
Our Preschool, Pre-Kindergarten and full-day Kindergarten programs are licensed and accredited by the Department of Education as a private, non-public school. We require our lead teachers to have a four year bachelor's degree in elementary or early childhood education and to prepare and teach a daily lesson plan with emphases on language skills, math skills and topics in science, nature and social studies.
