Faculty Bios

Suffern, NY

Mrs. Ingrid -
Mrs. Ingrid is the Lead Teacher in our Infant program. She has been with us since 2003. She has her Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from Wheelock College in Boston. She also holds a certification from Massachusetts in Kindergarten through Third Grade and a New Jersey state certificate in nursery school. Since joining our faculty in 2003, she has completed several Goddard University courses such as Interest Center Development, Thematic Curriculum Development and Quality Assurance. Her experience includes raising her own four boys (including triplets) as well as working in a nursery school in New York City. Mrs. Ingrid has just completed two final drafts of children's stories and plans to have them published soon. Mrs. Ingrid is an awesome teacher and the babies love her.

Ms. Atenas -
Ms. Atenas is a Co-Lead Teacher in our Infant room. She joined our team in January of 2008 after graduating from Rockland Community College with an Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education and looks forward to continuing her education at Hunter University to obtain her teaching certificate. She recently completed the course A World for Children: Holiday Celebrations, through Goddard University. She loves working with children of all ages.

Miss Mary -
Miss Mary has her Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education from Bergen Community College and joined our faculty since the School opened in 2002. She has completed many training classes over the years including the Goddard University course Portfolio Building and Assessment. She has been a Nanny to twins for a few years and has previous experience with other children. She sings in the choir and loves to read books and go to the movies. Miss Mary is also involved in a Youth Group and volunteers with community outreach. Our babies get lots of nurturing from Miss Mary. When her babies get older and transition to another classroom they always look forward to stopping by their old classroom to see Miss Mary and get a hug.

Ms.Malena -
Ms.Malena works part-time in the afternoon in our Infant classroom. She is passionate about working with babies. Her goal is to pursue her education in Speech Therapy. She currently attends Rockland Community College.  Malena started volunteering at our school and her love, kindness and dedication helped her get a permanent position in the Infant classroom.  She recently completed training on Establishing Quality through NAEYC.

Ms. Teresa -
Ms. Teresa is the Lead Teacher in one of our Infant classrooms. She has been working at our school since September 2007.  She graduated from Marcy College with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. Her goal is to return to school to earn a Master’s degree in Special Education. She recently completed the course Making the Most of Transitions, through Goddard University. In her free time, she enjoys reading, playing with her children and taking care of her home!

Ms. Tara -
Ms. Tara is the Teacher Assistant in our Infant classroom. She completed her Bachelor's degree in Psychology at Binghamton University. Ms. Tara is loving and nurturing. She loves working with babies.  She has been working at our school since 2007. 

Ms. Lucia
Ms. Lucia in one of our part time Assistant Teachers in one of our Infant classrooms.  She works every afternoon with our little ones.  Ms. Lucia is currently attending Rockland Community College & is pursuing her Degree in Early Childhood Education.  She enjoys working with Infants & is very loving & nurturing.

Ms. Kelly -
Ms. Kelly is the Lead Teacher in our First Step Classroom. She is currently working to earn her Child Development Associate (CDA) certificate and has worked with children for many years. She has been working at our school since 2008. She recently completed a course at Goddard University, Making the Most of Transitions. When she's not working with children, she enjoys reading, cooking, making crafts and spending time with her 14 year old son.

Ms. Christine T -
Ms. Christine is our assistant teacher in our First Step Classroom. Ms. Christine is very loving & nurturing.  She loves working with Infants & Toddlers.  She currently attends Rockland Community College & is pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education.

Ms. Marie C Ms. Marie is a Lead Teacher in our Young Toddler Classroom.  She graduated from the State University of Cortland with a B.S in Early Childhood Education.  She is passionate about working with young children & looks forward to pursuing a Master's degree in Special Education.

Ms. Laura -
Ms. Laura is the Assistant Teacher in the Toddler classroom. She has worked at the school since 2005 and loves working with our infants and toddlers. Ms. Laura has attended several Goddard University classes including Teamwork. She has twin boys and enjoys watching them play sports as well as spending time with her family. She loves to make a positive difference in the world and is amazing with the babies. She teaches them new things every day.

Mrs. Ruth
Mrs. Ruth is our Lead teacher in one of our Toddler classrooms.  She has her Masters Degree in early Childhood Education from Grand Canyon University.  She is loving & nurturing & plans amazing activities that are hands on & challenging for our Toddlers.  Mrs. Ruth is also a proud mother of two beautiful children.  She has many years of experience working in the early childhood field.

Mrs. Terry -
Mrs. Terry is an Assistant Teacher in our Toddler program. She attended Loch Haven University and studied Early Childhood Education. Mrs. Terry has over 14 years experience working with toddlers and is a licensed family childcare provider. She is also a mother of three children and loves spending time with her family.

Ms. Stefanie
Ms. Stefanie is our Lead teacher in our Get Set classroom.  She graduated from Purdue University with an Associates Degree in early childhood education.  Ms. Stefanie has many years of experience working with toddlers & preschoolers.  She loves working with children & looks forward to continuing her education in this field.  In her spare time she enjoys reading, walking & playing softball.

Ms. Vanessa -
Ms. Vanessa is the Assistant Teacher in our Get Set classroom. She has been with our school since 2007.  In high school, she was the President of the Pre-Teaching Academy and Future Educators of America. As part of this program, she had the opportunity to work in the classroom as a Teacher's Aide. Ms. Vanessa recently completed the Goddard University Course titled A World for Children: Holiday Celebrations. Ms. Vanessa has an enormous amount of energy and continuously wears a smile throughout the day. She looks forward to continuing her education to become a Lead Teacher in the future.

Ms. Vickie -
Ms. Vickie is one of our Assistants in the Get Set Classroom. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in History and Teacher Education.  She has many years of experience working with children and looks forward to becoming a Head teacher in the future.  She is loving & nurturing.  In her spare time, Ms. Vickie enjoys working out & spending time with family & friends.

Ms. Lidia -
Ms. Lidia has worked with us since 2005. She works part-time in our Infant classroom. She gives a lot of love and attention to the children. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and Spanish from St. Aquinas College of New York and has a Master's degree from Kean University in New Jersey. Some of the courses that she has completed through Goddard University are Time to Sign, Creating a Multi-cultural Classroom and Statutes and Regulations Pertaining to Childcare. Ms. Lidia enjoys cooking and reading. She plans to continue her education to earn another degree in the future.

Mrs. Leslie -
Mrs. Leslie is a Lead Teacher in our Transitional Preschool classroom. Leslie has been working with us since September 2002.  She graduated from Rockland Community College with an Associate's degree in Applied Science and has a Child Development Associates (CDA) certificate. Two of the most recent training classes that she has completed through Goddard University are All Children are Special: Temperament and All Children are Special: Children with Abilities. She is a mother of three boys and loves working with children. Her hobbies include cooking, reading, shopping (until she drops) and spending quality time with her family.

Ms. Lauren Ms. Lauren is an Assistant Teacher in one of our Preschool classrooms. Lauren graduated from Bloomsburg University with a Bachelor’s degree in family, children and youth. Ms. Lauren has many years of experience with preschoolers & loves teaching.

Ms. Michelle M. -
Ms. Michelle works part-time in the afternoons with our Toddlers & Preschoolers. She has been working at our school since 2007.  Michelle is currently enrolled at Rockland Community College and looks forward to earning her teaching certificate. She loves working with children.

Ms. Kristin -
Ms. Kristin is the Lead Teacher in our Preschool classroom. She has been working at our school since 2008.  She earned an Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education from Rockland Community College and plans to move on to a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. She loves working with children! In her free time, she enjoys rock climbing, skiing and swimming. Ms. Kristin is very loving & enjoys teaching fun & challenging activities to her students, including sign language!

Ms. Danielle Ms. Danielle is a Lead teacher in one of our Preschool classrooms.  She graduated from Dominican College with a bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education.  She is loving & nurturing & loves teaching young children.  In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family & reading.

Ms. Virginia
Ms. Virginia is an Assistant teacher in our Preschool classroom.  She has a degree in early childhood Education from Fordham University.  She has over twenty five years of experience working in the Early Childhood field.  She loves planning challenging, fun & hands on activities.  She loves working with children & is passionate about making a difference in their lives.

Mrs. Jaclyn -
Mrs. Jaclyn is a Lead Teacher in our Toddler classroom. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education and is passionate about working with children. Mrs. Jaclyn loves playing the piano and violin. She also loves being a mommy to her two boys too!

Ms. Kristen -
Ms. Kristen is one of our Lead Teachers in our Preschool classroom. She has a degree in Elementary Education with a concentration on Birth to Second Grade. She finds working with children an enjoyable and rewarding experience!

Ms. Erica Ms. Erica is one of our Preschool assistant teachers. She graduated from Nyack College with a degree in Early Childhood Education & is currently pursuing her Masters degree in Special Education.  Ms. Erica has many years of experience working with young children &  loves working with them.  She is loving, patient and kind. 

Ms. Arielle -
Ms. Arielle is the Lead Teacher in one of our Pre-Kindergarten classrooms. She graduated from CUNY Hunter College with a Master's degree in Early Childhood Education and has worked with children for ten years. She is currently pursuing a certificate in Special Education. Ms. Arielle has recently completed several courses at Goddard University including Lesson Planning & Curriculum and What's on Your Walls? She also attended the annual conference for Early Childhood and completed courses including Great Games for Young Children, Get Up & Play and Great Big Words.

Ms. Cindi -
Ms. Cindi is an Assistant Teacher in our Pre-Kindergarten classroom and has worked with us since 2004. She joined Goddard's faculty with many years of experience working with children and has taken several Goddard University Classes such as A World for Children, Thematic Curriculum Development and Quality Assurance. Some of her hobbies include cooking, camping, sewing and gardening. Her goal is to pursue a degree in Child Psychology. Ms. Cindi is passionate and devoted to enriching the lives of the children in her classroom.

Ms. Stephani - Ms. Stephani works with the children in our Universal Pre-Kindergarten classroom. She has her Child Developmental Associates (CDA) certificate from Bergen Community College. She has always loved working with children and she loves watching them grow and smile.

Mrs. Jackie -
Ms. Jackie is an Assistant Teacher in one of our Preschool classrooms. She has an Associate's degree from The College of Staten Island and a Bachelor’s degree from Brooklyn College in Early Childhood Education. She's a mother of two wonderful boys and enjoys cooking, gardening and helping people. She is loving and nurturing and gives her heart and soul to the children.

Mrs. Maggie Mrs. Maggie is one of our Lead teachers in our Pre-Kindergarten classrooms. She has a B.S. in Elementary Education with a minor in Psychology and M.A. in Early Childhood from Lehman College. She has many years of experience and is very passionate about teaching. Mrs. Maggie motivates the children to be the best that they can be.

Ms. Jessica - Ms. Jessica is a Co-Lead Teacher in one of our Pre-Kindergarten classrooms. She graduated from Plattsburgh University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education. She is passionate about teaching and loves children. Her teaching philosophy is embodied in a quote by David Burns "Aim for success not perfectionism."

Ms. Christina -
Ms. Christina has worked at Goddard since 2004 and is a graduate with a degree in Early Childhood Education from RCC. She is the Lead Teacher in one of our Pre-Kindergarten classrooms. Since starting at The Goddard School located in Suffern in 2004, she has completed many Goddard University Courses such as Curriculum Development, Teamwork and Making the Most of Transitions. She loves working with children and looks forward to many years of teaching.

Ms. Kelly B - Ms. Kelly is one of our Pre-K Assistant Teachers. She graduated from Syracuse University with a Bachelor of Arts degree & plans to pursue her Master's degree in Speech therapy. Ms. Kelly has experience working with Pre-K students in a multiple age classroom. In her spare time she likes reading, hiking & cooking.

Ms. Marianne Ms. Marianne is an Assistant teacher in one of our Pre-Kindergarten classrooms.  She graduated from Saint Thomas Aquinas College with a degree in Childhood Education and Special Education.  She loves working with children & during her spare time she enjoys playing lacrosse, rollerblading and hiking.

Ms. Michelle -
Ms. Michelle is a Lead Teacher our Pre-Kindergarten classroom. She graduated from Lehman College and has a New York State certificate in Early Childhood Education and also has her Child Development Associate (CDA) certificate. Some of the courses she has completed through Goddard University are Writing Great Dailies and Quality Assurance. Ms. Michelle has experience teaching preschoolers and has always enjoyed working with children. She creates an enriching classroom environment for her children.

Ms. Sara -
Ms. Sara is a Teacher Assistant in one of our Prekindergarten classroom. She looks forward to pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education. Her educational background is in theater and she studied musical theater, film as well as stage acting. In her spare time, she enjoys taking care of her son, who is three-years-old! Ms. Sara also loves dancing, camping and traveling!

Ms. Christina P. -
Ms. Christina is an Assistant Teacher in our Transitional Preschool classroom. She has her Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education from Rockland Community College. Ms. Christina is dedicated to helping children and volunteers with the Big Brother and Big Sister program every week. She received the Active International award. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, dancing and shopping.

Mrs. Kathy -
Mrs. Kathy works part-time in our Pre-K classroom and has worked with our School since 2005. She is a true blessing to have on the faculty. When asked what she does best, her response is making children smile and laugh with her stories. She loves children's imaginations and listening to them fills her heart. Mrs Kathy has completed several Goddard University courses such as Creating a Multi-Cultural Classroom and Open-Ended Questions. She is filled with so much love and energy that she shares it with everyone.

Mr. Michael -
Michael is our music teacher &  Floater and works part time. He has completed two years at the Hartt School of Music as a Music Education Major. He is currently enrolled at Bergen Community College and will transfer in September 2010 to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Music Education. He looks forward to teaching music to elementary school children one day. 

Amanda M Ms. Amanda is one of our floaters & substitute teachers.  She is very passionate about working in the early childhood field & will be pursuing her Child Developmental Associate degree. She has many years of experience & has completed many training programs related to early childhood.

Mrs. Carol - Mrs. Carol is the Director of The Goddard School located in Suffern and has worked at the School since 2003. Her educational background is in Early Childhood Education and she has fifteen years of experience working with young children. She has completed many Goddard University Courses such as Quality Assurance, Thematic Curriculum Development and Portfolio Building and Assessment as well as completing The Goddard School Director Development Program. She looks forward to many more years of working with children. Mrs. Carol enjoys watching children grow and making a positive difference in their lives.

Mrs. Megan -
Mrs. Megan is the Assistant Director and has worked at The Goddard School® located in Suffern since it opened in 2002. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from William Paterson University and has completed many Goddard University Courses such as All Children Are Special: Temperament, NAEYC Appropriate Interactions and Thematic Curriculum Development as well as completing The Goddard School® Director Development Program. In her spare time, she loves spending time with her husband and three wonderful children. She also loves to cook, read and relax on the beach.

Ms. Marcy -
Ms. Marcy is our Office Assistant. She has worked at Goddard since 2004.  She studied Early Childhood Education at Rockland Community College. She is currently pursuing her Child Development Associates (CDA) certificate. Some of the Goddard University classes that Ms. Marcy has completed include What's on Your Walls: Display, One Day at a Time: Time Management and Positive Environments. She brings an enormous amount of energy and enthusiasm to the classroom. The children have learned so much and enjoy seeing Ms. Marcy every day. She is always reliable, flexible and dependable which makes her an amazing team player.
