Sparks, MD

Janelle & Mike Glasser, School Owners -
Janelle and Mike thank you for being a part of Goddard's family! They are the parents of three children, ages eight, eleven and thirteen. They opened this school after much soul searching to find the perfect family-friendly business that makes a tangible, positive difference in the world. Janelle spent seven years at home raising the kids before opening The Goddard School®. Prior to that, she worked for many years in events coordinating, advertising and Public Relations. She began her professional life as an elementary school teacher and is thrilled to return to the world of children! Her focus on the school is program development, curricular planning and staff development. Mike worked for many years in the technology field, including programming, computer sales and service as well as internet sales. Mike joined the school full-time in its second year of operation. He has many opportunities to put his IT skills to use, keeping the classroom computers running and helping his IT-challenged wife handle the intricacies of the modern world. He loves being involved in the day-to-day operation of the school and considers the many parents, students and teachers as extensions of his own family.

Ms. Alison, Academic Director -
Ms. Alison graduated from Towson University with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. She also has her 90-hour preschool certificate, the 45-hour infant/toddler certificate and the 45-hour school-age certificate. Ms. Alison has worked with children all of her life, as a Nanny and a Teacher in childcare facilities. She joined The Goddard School located in Sparks as a Teacher for the children in Preschool program in July of 2005. Ms. Alison was promoted to Assistant Director, then Academic Director, overseeing the Curriculum and Education program. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling (especially to the beach), shopping and going to the movies. Ms. Alison is excited to be a part of Goddard's family!

Ms. Callie, Operations Director -
Ms. Callie is excited to be a part of the Goddard team. She joined Goddard as a Teacher on the Preschool team in January of 2007. Ms. Callie has a Bachelor's degree in Sociology and Elementary Education, along with her 90-hour Preschool and 45-Hour Infant/Toddler certificates. During summer breaks throughout her college years, she worked in preschool camp programs. Ms. Callie loves watching how children grow and learn throughout the course of a year. She also loves every child's unique and different perspective on the world around them. In the spring of 2008, she joined the management team at The Goddard School located in Sparks. Ms. Callie finds it very satisfying to assist the teachers and help them achieve great success in their classrooms.

Ms. Sara S., Preschool Teacher
Ms. Sara is excited to be a Teacher at The Goddard School located in Sparks. She graduated from Towson University with her Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and joined the faculty in August of 2006. Ms. Sara has always loved children and feels teaching is one of the most rewarding jobs a person can have.

Ms. Andrea, Toddler Teacher -
Ms. Andrea graduated from Luzerne County Community College with an Associate’s degree in Child Development. She has over six years experience in childcare, working at the Johns Hopkins Family Center with toddlers, ages 18-24 months before she joined The Goddard School located in Sparks. Ms. Andrea has worked at Goddard since the School opened in Sparks. She enjoys working with the children and their parents.

Ms. Megan, Toddler Teacher -
Ms. Megan is in the process of pursuing an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education at Essex Community College. She worked with children for four years before joining the faculty of The Goddard School located in Sparks in July of 2005. In her spare time, she enjoys going out to dinner, watching movies and spending time with my family, friends and husband.

Ms. Stephenie, Toddler Teacher & Quality Assurance Coordinator -
Ms. Stephenie has always enjoyed working with children. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business and Finance. Ms. Stephenie worked for many years for a brokerage firm and did volunteer work with children at her church. She has experience assisting special needs children at Sparks Elementary School. Ms. Stephenie joined the faculty of The Goddard School located in Sparks in the fall of 2005. She is excited to be a part of the Goddard family!

Ms. Cheryl, Toddler Teacher & Music Coordinator, 2008 Teacher of the Year (Northeast Region) -
I have been working with preschool children for 25 years. I love the values of The Goddard School® and feel it is a great learning experience for all of the children involved in the program. Since joining The Goddard School® in January of 2006, I have spearheaded a music program for all of the children. I have both my 90 hour preschool certification and 45 hour infant and toddler certification. In my spare time, I enjoy fishing, reading, playing the piano, baking and family vacations.

Ms. Wendy W., Preschool Teacher -
Ms. Wendy has her Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Towson University. She has taught both Kindergarten and First Grade in Baltimore City and worked with two- and three-year-old children in a childcare center. She loves working with the preschoolers. Ms. Wendy has been part of our Goddard School family since January of 2006.

Ms. Chrissy, Toddler Teacher - Ms. Chrissy is currently a student at Essex Community College. She will graduate with an Associate's degree in Early Childhood Development. Miss Chrissy joined The Goddard School located in Sparks in the summer of 2006. She has worked in childcare since 2000 and loves helping children learn. In her spare time, she enjoys relaxing at home.

Ms. Tara, Infant Teacher -
Ms. Tara is excited to be a part of the Goddard family. She joined the faculty of The Goddard School located in Sparks in September of 2006. Ms. Tara became interested in working with young children in high school when she took an Early Childhood Education class. She loves spending time with children, so teaching children is the perfect fit. Ms. Tara has taught since 1999 and she absolutely loves it. Ms. Tara is also MSCCA certified. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time outdoors, touring old mansions, practicing Tae Kwan Do with her son, using the computer and spending quiet days with friends.

Ms. Natalie, Pre-K Teacher -
Ms. Natalie is excited to teach at The Goddard School located in Sparks. She graduated with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Early Childhood Leadership and Family Studies from Villa Julie. She loves working with children because it is rewarding to make a difference in their lives, by helping them learn and grow. In her spare time, Ms. Natalie enjoys shopping, talking on the phone and traveling, especially to Greece.

Ms. Anna, Toddler Teacher -
Ms. Anna is honored to work at The Goddard School® located in Sparks. She currently attends Towson University, pursuing a degree in Family Studies. Ms. Anna's mother operated her own family daycare center when she was younger, so she has spent time with young children for many years. This is her first experience working in a preschool, but she has been babysitting since she was a young teenager. In her spare time, Ms. Anna loves spending time with her puppy, spending time with friends and her fiance, going to the movies and most of all camping.

Ms. Darcy, Substitute Teacher -
Ms. Darcy is excited to be a part of the Goddard family. She has a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from West Virginia University.  Ms. Darcy thinks it is amazing to watch children's excitement as they discover new things.

Ms.Tina, Infant Teacher -
Ms. Tina is excited to be a part of the Goddard family. She has worked with children for over five years. Ms. Tina loves working with children of all ages, but she especially loves babies. She also enjoys working part-time as a certified Floral Designer. In her spare time, Ms. Tina enjoys ballroom dancing, listening to blues and jazz music, spending time with her cats and dogs, and traveling to New Orleans.

Ms. Lauren, Preschool Teacher -
Ms. Lauren graduated from York College of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts with a concentration in Painting. In college, she took numerous Education and Psychology courses. After college, Ms. Lauren organized, created and led art classes through a creative art studio in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. These art classes included many ages and utilized various mediums. Teaching them she found that she loved working with children. Since then, Ms. Lauren enrolled in a class to obtain her Childcare certification. As an artist, she works with a variety of mediums including silver, glass, screen painting and acrylic paint. Her work has been shown in many art shows across Pennsylvania.

Ms. Genoa, Infant Teacher -
Ms. Genoa is excited to be a part of the Goddard family. She has worked in both an office setting and a preschool setting. Ms. Genoa loves working with children because it is rewarding to see them learn something new every day. In her spare time she loves to shop and create scrapbooks.

Ms. Bettie, Float
Ms. Bettie is very excited to work at The Goddard School located in Sparks. She loves working with infants because it is so much fun watching them grow and change everyday. In her spare time, she likes to travel to new places.

Ms. Jen, Toddler Teacher -
Ms. Jen feels privileged to work at The Goddard School located in Sparks. She graduated from Hereford High School and Harford Community College, with a degree in Early Childhood Education. Since she was 16 years old, her experience includes babysitting and being a Nanny. Ms. Jen's passion is watching children learn about the world and their environment. Seeing a child successfully complete a new task for the first time is very fulfilling. It is a wonderful thing to witness! She truly enjoys working at this School and looks forward to a long career with Goddard.

Ms. Jennifer, Float -
Ms. Jennifer is excited to be a part of the Goddard family. She has worked with children for over fifteen years and loves learning their individual personalities and seeing them smile. In her spare time, Ms. Jennifer enjoys spending time with her family, going to church and dancing.

Ms. Sara B., Pre-K Teacher -
Ms. Sara earned her Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education at The Master’s College. She has experience substituting at an elementary school as well as a tutoring. Ms. Sara enjoys working at The Goddard School located in Sparks. In her free time, she loves going on trips and car rides. One of her favorite places to go is the ocean, but she also loves going to the mountains! Ms. Sara enjoys outdoor activities including camping, hiking or a picnic — and no matter what the day, you can always find her with a good book!

Ms. Maria, Substitute Teacher Ms. Maria graduated in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science degree in American studies from Towson University.  She looks forward to a long and successful future with The Goddard School located in Sparks.

Ms. Amy, Pre-K Teacher -
Ms. Amy graduated from Villa Julie College in 2004 with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. She taught for the Baltimore County School system for three years prior to teaching at The Goddard School located in Sparks. Ms. Amy is married and the proud mother of two children! In her spare time, she enjoys shopping, watching movies and spending time with her family.

Ms. Ellen, Substitute Teacher  
Ms. Ellen is excited to be a part of the family at The Goddard School located in Sparks. She graduated from UMBC in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. Ms. Ellen has worked in the education field since 2001, and took many education classes in college. Ms. Ellen loves to encourage children to be creative and confident through art, dramatic play and music.

Ms. Lauren, Toddler Teacher - Ms. Lauren is excited to be a part of the family at The Goddard School located in Sparks. She graduated from Towson University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a minor in Family Studies. In the past, She has been a Nanny for several different families. Ms. Lauren enjoys working with children because it is an amazing experience to watch them learn new skills and it is a new adventure every day. She grew up in Harford County, Maryland, has two cats named Sonic and Lexus and a horse named Comet. In her spare time, she enjoys riding her horse and spending time with family and friends.

Ms. Tabatha, Float Ms. Tabatha has been working with preschool aged children since 2007. She has her 90-hour preschool certification and her 45-hour infant/toddler certification.  Ms. Tabatha loves working with children because she enjoys watching them gain confidence as they learn new things.

Ms. Amanda, Infant Teacher Amanda is currently a part-time student at Essex Community College and her major is nursing. She has her 90-hour preschool certification and her 45-hour infant/toddler certification. Working with small children is very gratifying to Amanda.  She thinks it is amazing to help them learn something new everyday.  She is always so excited to wake up and come to work each and every day!

Ms. Melanie, Preschool Teacher - Melanie is a graduate of Stevenson University with a Bachelors degree in Psychology. she loves working with children of all ages because it is fascinating to watch them grow and develop in different ways. In her spare time she loves shopping, traveling, scrapbooking, skiing and going to music concerts.

Ms. Melissa, Pre-K Teacher - Ms. Melissa is a graduate of the College of Notre Dame of Maryland where she played college basketball and received my Bachelors in Mass Communication. She loves sports (I played basketball on the ND team), children and she also sings in a group called 'The Honey Bee's'. She's very excited to be a part of the Goddard family and looks forward to helping all of the children get to Kindergarten.

Ms. Heather, Float Ms. Heather is so excited to be part of the Goddard family. She's currently a student at Carroll County Community College and is debating between majoring in graphic design and elementary education. Ms. Heather feels honored to work with such great children and co-teachers here at the Goddard school located in Sparks, MD!

Afsaneh, Subsitute Teacher Afsaneh is so happy to be part of The Goddard School family. She is married and a proud mom of a beautiful daughter. She graduated in 2000 with a bachelor degree in Language. She has been actively working in the education field since 2007. She loves watching kids learn new skills and grow in many ways each day. In her spare time she likes to spend time with her family and travel to interesting places.  She looks forward to spending many days here at The Goddard School located in Sparks, MD.

Ms. Marisa, Substitute Teacher Ms. Marisa is so excited to be a part of the Goddard family.  She graduated from Western Michigan University with a bachelor's degree in social psychology.   In the past Ms. Marisa has worked as a youth camp counselor and childcare aide.  Her favorite part of working with children is teaching them new skills through games everyday.
