Faculty Bios

Southlake, TX

Ms. Val - On-Site Owner - Ms. Val is the proud on-site owner of The Goddard School located in Southlake. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.  As the mother of two preschool children who are enrolled, Val appreciates the love and nurturing that takes place at our School. Her family is the basis for the reason that she chose Goddard and she is extremely excited to be able to provide Goddard’s outstanding program to the children in this community. She is at the school daily to oversee the business operations and develop open communication with all of our parents. Her daily presence allows our Education Director to focus on the staffing and educational curriculum of our program.

Ms. Lori - Education Director - Ms. Lori is our Education Director. She has almost thirty years experience in Early Childhood Education and childcare. While studying at the University of North Texas, Ms. Lori took a job as teacher to a class of twenty-four three year olds, and her career path was chosen! Taking a few years off to marry and raise a family, she completed her degree in Business Management with an emphasis in Childcare and is currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and her MBA. Ms. Lori has a grown daughter, a young son and one grandson and is so excited to put her years of experience behind a program she truly believes in!

Ms. Kristin (Transitional Kindergarten) - Ms. Kristin is Lead Teacher in our Transitional Kindergarten class. She graduated from UNT with a Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, and is certified to teach EC-6th as well as being ESL certified. She has over seven years experience working in the childcare field, and after graduation, had the privilege of being a stay at home mom to her amazing son who attends our school. She is so excited to be teaching at The Goddard School, and to open the doors to the world of learning for your child!

Ms. Amanda (Pre-Kindergarten) - Ms. Amanda is the Lead Teacher in our Pre-K classroom. Originally from Wisconsin, Ms. Amanda graduated from DePaul University in Chicago. She attended her first year of school in Boston at Suffolk University where she began working at a non-profit organization called Jumpstart. Jumpstart pairs college students with preschoolers in under privileged areas of the community. Ms. Amanda graduated with a degree in Elementary Education. She was a preschool teacher in Wisconsin before moving to Texas. Ms. Amanda is excited to be part of The Goddard School® family and cannot wait to be a part of each child’s growth and development.

Ms. Cathy (Preschool) - Ms. Cathy is a Lead Teacher in our Preschool classroom. She has an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education and is currently enrolled at the University of Texas in Arlington to obtain her Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies.  She has been working with children for the past thirteen years. Ms. Cathy grew up in New Jersey and recently moved to Texas. Ms. Cathy taught at The Goddard School located in Fanwood, New Jersey, for three years prior to joining our team at The Goddard School located in Southlake. She loves teaching and working with children and looks forward to providing a warm learning environment for your children.

Ms. Annie (Preschool) - Ms. Annie is a Lead Teacher in our Preschool classroom. She is originally from the United Kingdom and has lived in Texas for 5 years. She has a Bachelor's Degree in History and Politics, and a Early Years Practitioner's Certificate. After a number of years in financial services, Ms. Annie discovered that teaching children was her passion, and has been a preschool teacher for 10 years. She loves to be part of the children's growth in skills and confidence as they have fun.

Ms. Trisha (Older Toddlers) - Ms. Trisha is the Lead Teacher in our Older Toddlers classroom.  She began her career working in Special Education in Keller at Parkwood Hill Intermediate School as a Resource Aide. She has gone back to school to pursue a career in Psychology, and has chosen to work at a private school while earning her degree. She is the proud mother of two children and the grandmother of one. Ms. Trish LOVES working with children.

Ms. Latosha (Young Toddlers) - Ms. Latosha is Lead Teacher in our Young Toddlers classroom. She graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a Bachelor's degree in Child and Family Development with a minor in Early Childhood.  She is currently seeking her teaching certification with Texas Teachers. Latosha has been working with children for six years and she has enjoyed every moment of it.  She loves having the opportunity to play a part in a young child's education and helping them learn life skills.

Ms. Lisa (First Steps) - Ms. Lisa is our Lead First Steps Teacher and is thrilled to be a part of The Goddard School family.  She graduated from Southeastern Oklahoma State University where she studied Music and Psychology.  She continued her education at the University of Central Oklahoma with an emphasis on Recreation Management.  Lisa is married with a daughter who has just started Kindergarten. Lisa began working with children thirteen years ago as a camp counselor with YMCA. Since then she has coached cheerleading, gymnastics, led arts and crafts camps, taught preschool and in 2006 found her love of working with the young ones.

Ms. Kristal (First Steps) - Ms. Kristal is our Lead First Steps Teacher, and she received her Bachelor's degree from McMurry University in Abilene, Texas with a Sociology Major and Music Minor.  She also has Special Education training for all ages including Deaf Education.  Currently, she is a candidate for a CDA with an infant/toddler endorsement.  Ms. Kristal has been working with children of all ages for more than 10 years and there is no other area she would prefer to work in.

Ms. Amberina (Infant) - Ms. Amberina is Lead Teacher in our Infant classroom at The Goddard School located in Southlake. She holds degrees in both child Psychology and Counseling. She is married and has a daughter who is attending her first year of college. She has enjoyed teaching and working with preschool children for over ten years. She is excited to continue this process of facilitating children’s growth through education at The Goddard School. She thinks it is wonderful to be a part of children’s development as they realize their full potential by having fun with learning.

Ms. Vanessa (Infant) - Ms. Vanessa is an Infant Specialist at The Goddard School located in Southlake. She realized that she wanted to work with children during the time she spent working at Birdsville ISD in the special education department. She is currently enrolled in a program to obtain her CDA and is excited about the opportunity to learn new things in the area of childhood development. Ms. Vanessa is a mother of two children and a grandmother of one. She loves working with children! Children fill her heart with love and bring her joy as they grow and learn new things.

Ms. Kathy (Infant) - Ms. Kathy is an Infant Specialist at The Goddard School located in Southlake. She has a business background but after many years of volunteering with children, she became part of a preschool program in Kansas. Ms. Kathy feels very blessed to have found her passion for working with children and looks forward in sharing the joys of learning in a warm and loving environment at The Goddard School.
