Employee of the Month:  Mrs. Jenn B.
Before joining The Goddard School® team, Jennifer was a Lead Teacher in a private preschool in Warwick for over four years. Jennifer is finishing up her degree in Early Childhood Education from the Community College of Rhode Island and plans to transfer to the University of Rhode Island in the fall to further her education. Jennifer is very excited to be a part of The Goddard School® located in South Kingstown and looks forward to many more years of working with young children!

Lauren - Director - Lauren has been the Director of our School since November, 2010. Before coming to Goddard, Lauren was a teacher’s assistant at another local childcare center. Lauren first came to the School as an intern from the University of Rhode Island in January, 2007. After graduating from URI with a B.S. in Human Development and Family Studies and a minor is Business, Lauren became the Assistant Director. She has been working with children for over 10 years and has loved every minute of it! She is very excited to start on this journey as the Director of The Goddard School. Mrs. Lauren lives in North Kingstown with her husband and their dog, Herbie.

Clay & Gina Johnson - Owners -
Owners of The Goddard School®, Gina and Clay grew up in South Kingstown and attended the local schools. After graduating from URI, Clay spent 15 years in various locations fulfilling project management roles. In 1998, the couple returned to Rhode Island to start a family; they are the proud parents of two children. The Johnson family began work on The Goddard School® in March of 2004 with the intent of sinking deeper roots into the community which they love and providing a new option in early childhood development.

Mrs. Laura - Assistant Director -
Ms. Laura has recently joined the administrative team as the Assistant Director. Before this role, Laura was the Teacher in the Pre-K classroom. Laura worked with children for many years prior to college and graduated from the University of Hartford with a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education with a minor in Psychology. Prior to working at Goddard, Ms. Laura was the Kindergarten Teacher at a local child development center for four years and the Preschool Teacher for two years. The program focused on literacy enrichment and learning through play.

Mrs. Jennifer K. - Starfish Room (Young Infants) -
Mrs. Jennifer has been involved with children for more than 20 years starting early on with babysitting for neighborhood families. After graduating from South Kingstown High School, Jennifer attended CCRI for Early Education for one year. Since then, she has worked in a few childcare centers and even had her own Home Childcare when her children were little. To further Jennifer's education, she completed her Child Development Associate (CDA) for infants/toddlers. Mrs. Jennifer is excited to be apart of the Goddard family and can't wait to get to know all of you!

Ms. Stephanie - Starfish Room (Young Infants) - Ms. Stephanie graduated eight years ago from Chariho High School. She has been working in early childcare ever since. She has worked with children of all ages since she was about 12 years old. Ms. Stephanie is excited to start her new adventure here at The Goddard School!

Ms. Kerri H. - Seahorse Room (Older Infants) -
Kerri is a graduate of RIC and has been in the childcare profession for over 15 years! Her experience includes working in a group home setting, teaching art to children on IEPs and teaching in a Preschool environment. She absolutely loves Art and thoroughly enjoys sharing her knowledge with children of all ages.

Nurse Jeanette - Seahorse Room (Older Infants) - Nurse Jeanette is pleased to be part of The Goddard School team! She has been in healthcare for nearly 12 years now. She graduated as an LPN in 2005. Nurse Jeanette hopes to get her RN license in the near future. For now, she enjoys being your nurse! Please don’t hesitate to see Nurse Jeanette with any questions; she loves to be of help!

Ms. Amy R. - Sea Turtle Room (Young Toddlers) - Amy R. graduated from the University of Rhode Island in December 2011 with a bachelor's degree in human development and family studies and a concentration in child development. She has worked with children of various ages through the years and has loved every minute of it! She is excited to begin at The Goddard School and looks forward to getting to know the children and their families!

Ms. Kayla - Sea Turtle Room (Young Toddlers) -  Ms. Kayla has lived in Narragansett all her life. She attended Narragansett High School and graduated in 2007.  She's currently earning her Bachelor’s Degree at the University of Rhode Island for Early Childhood Education. Kayla loves working with children of all ages and is looking forward to this new experience!

Ms. Nicole - Sea Otter Room (Older Toddlers) - Ms. Nicole graduated in May, 2010, from Rhode Island College with a B.A. in Early Childhood Education and a concentration in English. Her goal is to become a Kindergarten teacher one day! She's always enjoyed working with children and watching them grow! She looks forward to meeting every new family and student. As she joins The Goddard School, Ms. Nicole hopes that your child learns as much from her as she will learn from them!

Ms. Healy - Sea Otter Room (Older Toddlers) -  Ms. Healy is really excited about being a part of The Goddard School! She graduated from Keene State College in New Hampshire in 2009 and hopes to get her Master’s in Education. She can’t wait to get involved in the classroom and looks forward to getting to know everyone!

Mrs. Amy - Jellyfish Room (Get Set) Mrs. Amy attended Wesley Chapel High School where she completed the Teacher Assistant Program.  She graduated from the University of South Florida in December 2010 with a B.S. in Elementary Education.  Mrs. Amy has a lot of experience working with children of all ages, and looks forward to getting to know all of the children and exploring her new surroundings!

Ms. Lindsey - Jellyfish Room (Get Set) - I attended Narragansett High School where I was involved in sports and student council. I graduated from Bridgewater State College with a degree in Early Childhood Education. At BSC I worked in the Children's Physical Development clinic with special needs children. Last school year I worked at a private preschool in Tallahassee, FL, and am excited to be back in South County teaching close to home!

Ms. Ashlee - Puffer Fish Room (Older Preschool) - Ms. Ashlee graduated from the University of Rhode Island in May, 2011 with a B.A. in Elementary Education, a B.A. in Psychology, and a minor in Spanish.  She has been working with children of all ages for over 7 years.  She loves being a teacher and is very excited to be a part of the teaching team here at The Goddard School located in South Kingstown, RI!

Mrs. Andra - Whale Room (Pre-Kindergarten) -
Mrs. Andra is very excited to join The Goddard School® staff and to be able to work with your children! In December 2007, she graduated from URI with a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education. For the past five years, Andra has been working as Substitute Teacher and Substitute Teacher's Assistant in various elementary schools. Mrs. Andra is looking forward to her new position working with your children here at The Goddard School®!

Ms. Casey - Whale Room (Pre-Kindergarten) - Ms. Casey graduated in May, 2011 from Berry College with a B.S. in Early Childhood Education. She has worked with children for three years in a preschool setting.  She is excited to be working at The Goddard School located in South Kingstown, RI and to share her passion for learning with all the children and families that come here!

Ms. Kirstyn - Dolphin Room (Pre-Kindergarten) - Ms. Kirstyn is a teacher in our Dolphin Room.  She just recently graduated from Rhode Island College where she received her Bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education. While at RIC, she played for the Girls Basketball Team, until she was offered a coaching position at Exeter-West Greenwich High School, the one which she attended. She has been granted the privilege of working many years with children and she finds this extremely rewarding! She is truly looking forward to sharing this experience with friends and families at The Goddard School located in South Kingstown, RI!

Ms. Kelly - Floater Ms. Kelly is a recent graduate of New York University with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Child Mental Health Studies. Kelly chose this track after she began working in a childcare center, and since then she has worked with children in camps, after-school programs and through NYU coursework. Kelly is excited to begin this next step at The Goddard School and she can’t wait to get to know the children and families!

Ms. Ashleigh - Floater - Ashleigh has lived in South Kingstown, R.I. my whole life. From a young age, she knew she wanted to work with children. As a result, she is majoring in Early Childhood Education at Salve Regina University in Newport, R.I.  She has worked with children for many years volunteering at my former elementary school. Also, she has many years of babysitting experience.  She looks forward to getting to know all the children and watching their love for learning grow!

Ms. Emma - Floater -

Ms. Emma is a student at Johnson and Wales University studying Sports/Entertainment/Event Management.  She chose to work at The Goddard School for the opportunities it can provide her and because of her love of children!  She can’t wait to meet all of the children and get to know them and their families!
