Welcome to The Goddard School® located in Skippack!

We will celebrate our sixth anniversary on September 13, 2010. Since our opening in 2004 we have received accreditation for a full day Kindergarten program by the Department of Education, opened another state-of-the-art 7000 square ft. facility (the annex) adjacent from the main building to accommodate additional children ages 4 through 10 years old, anticipate receiving STAR 3 by the Pennsylvania PATHWAY - a four-star system designed to assist schools in providing the highest quality curriculum in early childhood education, the healthiest and safest environment, and enhancing the skill sets of each teacher/staff all in an effort to improve the development of children.

The Goddard School® can make a positive difference in your child's life. Our warm, loving atmosphere features a year round extended day program from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. Our program is designed to enhance the emotional, social, intellectual and physical development of your child from six weeks to ten years of age. Areas of growth and development are highlighted on our daily lesson plans, which our faculty brings to life in appropriate and attainable ways. Children are encouraged to progress at their own pace according to their individual needs and abilities.

We also offer an accredited full Kindergarten, a before/after-school enrichment program and a summer "camp" program for children up to ten years of age - providing the same quality of development through guidance and instruction from qualified teachers.

Our Enrichment Programs are included as a part of our curriculum, at no extra charge to the parents. These programs are taught by our Goddard School® teachers who have received specialized training in order to include them as part of our daily program.

Our Enrichment Programs Include:
Music & Movement: Music Preludes- Studies have shown that music stimulates children's brains while helping them to express their feelings, investigate rhythm, and explore other cultures. Children are able to obtain musical literacy through innovative, fun activities and active participation. This acts as a math program, the children not only get experience with musical instruments but they learn the core of the music (notes, beat, rhythm, measures, etc.)which helps them with counting.
Art Appreciation/History: Art History is a unique way for young children to learn about the most influential artists and artwork throughout history. Teachers use age-appropriate art projects, games, and activities to expose children to art from prehistoric through the art of the 20th century.
Physical Fitness and Nutrition: B.A.S.E. (Balance, Agility, Strength, and Endurance) The objective of the Goddard B.A.S.E. Fitness Program is to expose children to the skills necessary to support their active lives, to develop positive self-esteem, and to set the foundation for a healthy life-style. This program also helps them improve their fine and gross motor skills.
Nutrition: The children learn how to make healthy food choices. Children learn to identify various foods, investigate food ethnicity, and observe the physical changes that can take place in foods during preparation and digestion. The food pyramid also is taught to the children so they better understand the amount and type of good food choices.
Sign Language: Time to Sign® Program - The sign language program introduces children to American Sign Language (ASL). Children, even infants, learn to sign through the use of songs, games, stories, and play. Recent findings indicate that a bilingual approach with hearing children enhances literacy skills and activates brain growth and development. Sign has also been shown to reduce conflict, facilitate an understanding of human emotions, and increase children's confidence and self-esteem.
Foreign Language: Trampoline Spanish- The Explorer Program by Trampoline™ introduces children to the Spanish language and culture. With hundreds of games, songs, and activities.
Language Arts: Scholastic's Building Language for Literacy™ - This program equips young children with the critical language and literacy skills, and experiences, they need to build the foundation for success in reading. It is built upon children's home and community experiences to create meaningful connections and goes along with our monthly themes appropriately.
Manners: The Goddard Guide to Getting Along™ - Our innovative program fosters acquisition of the essential skills of: Friendship, Compassion, Cooperation, and Kindness. The program incorporates a variety of activities that inspire thoughtful discussion; provide practice on an individual and group level; and include class-wide, school-wide, and community-wide opportunities for skill building at an age-appropriate level, even as young as 18 months.
Yoga: Apple Blossom Yoga- This cross-curricular learning experience helps younger learners improve focus, balance, creativity, flexibility, body awareness, and control. This program is available for all ages!
Computers: Computers are located in the all classrooms for children 2 1/2 years to 12 years. In addition, the classes have scheduled times that they visit the computer lab in the new building.

Our curriculum is based on age appropriate curricular goals which we call Developmental Guidelines.

Both of our buildings are custom designed and planned to provide a safe, healthy and stimulating environment. Three separate playgrounds have been designed to challenge and delight your child at every age. under the playground structures is a sate of the art pour and play rubber mat.

We have 12 active classrooms and a staff of 28 teachers and an on-site Owner, Director, and Assistant Director. Our main building houses our Infant, Pre-Toddlers, Toddlers, Preschool I/II and PreKindergarten I classrooms while our annex houses the Pre-Kindergarten II class, Kindergarten enrichment classes and the full-day Kindergarten program. The annex also accommodates after school activities for children in grades 1 through 5; such as tutoring, sports programs, music and arts lessons. There is also a resource center, gym equipped with a rock climbing wall and an outdoor play ground with a basketball court.

Please come visit our School and see how the facilities and programs have expanded in over the years, as well as meet the educators that are dedicated to providing the best possible environment for all children.
