Special Enrichment Opportunities at The Goddard School located in Sanatoga! (These programs are included in your tuition rate)
YOGA:
This educational program uses The Apple Blossom Curriculum by Yoga School in all of our classrooms, infant through Pre-kindergarten. The program is geared to help children develop focus, balance, creativity, flexibility, body awareness and control. The poses the children learn will integrate nature, animals and their own imaginations. The children might use different poses to start circle time, play a yoga game during outside play or even try some poses before nap. This program is designed to educate the “whole” child through age-appropriate activities to enhance the emotional, social, intellectual and physical development of each child.
TIME TO SIGN:
Time To Sign incorporates American Sign Language into the classroom. Sign language is taught to our children from infancy through Pre-Kindergarten. Theme-related as well as everyday words such as "more", "please" and "thank you" are giving even our youngest learners another way to communicate!
FITNESS PROGRAM:
The B.A.S.E. for Fitness program exposes children to the skills necessary to support their active lives, to develop positive self-esteem and to set the foundation for a healthy life-style. The program developed by SPARK and specifically designed and equipped for Preschool children addresses their physical fitness by focusing on four basic goals: B=Balance, A=Agility, S=Strength, E=Endurance.
We incorporate B.A.S.E. into our curriculum on a daily basis, our children from Infants through Pre-kindergarten, have fun doing age-appropriate activities that motivate and encourage them to be physically active! This nationally recognized program gets our students moving to music as they negotiate obstacle courses, play leapfrog and a variety of ball games. The children love to jump, hop, skip, dance and shake their sillies out!
SPANISH:
We use the nationally recognized Trampoline Spanish Language Program. Spanish is integrated into many of our daily activities making learning Spanish a fun and easy activity.
MUSIC CLASS:
Mrs. B., a veteran of the Pottstown Symphony, visits each class every Friday morning to sing and dance with the children. Our music appreciation program stimulates children's brains while helping them to express their feelings, investigate rhythm and explore other cultures.
QUALITY ASSURANCE:
Goddard's Quality Assurance Program is important to us. It reflects our competence in Health and Safety, Curriculum and Program Support.
GOOD DEEDS:
Every year we participate in a "Trike-A-Thon" and we raise money for St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital. The children have a blast riding their bikes around the parking lot.
We also collect canned goods and personal care items for the Salvation Army every year in November. They were very thankful for our donations!
SAFETY FEATURES:
FINGERSAFE:
We have installed Fingersafe on all of our classroom doors. Fingersafe is a protective device to prevent little fingers from being pinched in the door hinges.
COUNT ME IN ENTRY SYSTEM:
Our front door has the Count Me In Entry System. Only those who have had their fingerprints scanned can enter the building at will. All other visitors are signed in and greeted at the front door by a member of management.
POUR-IN-PLACE SAFETY SURFACE:
Toddler and Preschool Playgrounds have a Pour-in-Place safety surface. This surface is made of recycled rubber that has been proven to more safely cushion a fall then any other fall zone surface.
