Mrs. Julie (On-Site Owner) - Julie opened The Goddard School® located on Hardy Oak and is proud to be the owner of the first Goddard in San Antonio, which opened it's doors on January 1, 2008! With over ten years of experience in owning multiple businesses, she has decided to pursue her true calling by operating The Goddard School. She is a mother and understands the need of a facility that can provide the best educational foundation for children while maintaining a nurturing, loving and safe environment. She takes great pride in being able to provide all of these important components along with a developmentally appropriate curriculum for each student. She believes that a successful school is made from Teachers, Management and Parents working together as a team to provide the best possible care for the children. Julie’s personal goal is to develop a relationship with every family that is part of our program. She says, “Some of our best ideas come from our parents!” Julie is honored to partner with parents in playing an important role in building a strong foundation of character, knowledge and values for the children in the community.
Ms. Tiffany (Director) - Tiffany N. graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in Psychology and Child Development. During college Tiffany worked for a sub-finding agency which placed her in childcare settings all over Austin. Her observations of the childcare industry as a whole led her to begin working on a business plan to start a high quality preschool program of her own. Shorty after graduating, she started a preschool program for a West Austin non-profit association. After over five years, she decided to move to San Antonio to be closer to her family, which led her to The Goddard School! Tiffany is a member of the Texas AEYC, the San Antonio AEYC, the Austin AEYC, the Southern Early Childhood Association and an affiliate member of the NAEYC. Tiffany has a genuine love for children and believes that providing quality care and instruction is priority one. She believes that the most important goal of all early childhood curriculum is to help children to become enthusiastic learners! She is excited to be part of The Goddard School team of excellence!
Mrs. Marisa (Assistant Director) - Marisa is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Elementary Education. Being a Longhorn proved to be fabulous in so many ways, but none of which were more important to Marisa than experiencing firsthand the value and importance of education in early childhood settings. Being involved with young children as they explored their world became a passion of Marisa's, and that drive moved with her from Austin to San Antonio where she moved to follow her husband's job. San Antonio led her to The Goddard School, where she feels blessed to work with curious toddlers in our own Party Parrots classroom. It was in that room, over the course of a year, that she fell in love with Goddard's philosophies and commitment to learning. That commitment has been magnified in her current position as the Assistant Director of our school, which she began in January 2009, as it has become her mission to support the needs of our teachers and students as a way to ensure that the highest quality of learning takes place in all of our classrooms. "There are so many discoveries that take place in our school each day -- from an infant's nervous first steps to a preschooler's pride in reading their first book -- and there truly is no job that offers more wonderful rewards on a daily basis! Being at The Goddard School is a huge part of what contributes to my very blessed life," adds Marisa.
Mrs. Melissa - Transitional Kindergarten Melissa graduated from The University of Texas at San Antonio with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies specializing in Early Childhood. She has eleven years of teaching experience and had taught Pre-K, Kindergarten, First Grade and Third Grade. Melissa has been married for fifteen years and has three sons. She has a passion for teaching and loves children! Melissa maintains a strong commitment to student achievement as she nurtures, guides and inspires her students to reach their highest potential and develop a love of learning. Melissa is excited to be a part of The Goddard School team of which she has been a part of for over two years and counting.
Mr. David - Transitional Kindergarten David loves children and is a proud father to his baby boy who has been a welcomed member of the Goddard family. He is currently completing a minor in Education at San Antonio College, and plans to major in Kinesiology at the University of Texas in San Antonio. David would like to be a coach someday. His background includes volunteering for a year and a half as a Sunday School teacher for three-year-olds. Mr. David has been part of the Goddard family for over two years.
Mrs. Emily - Pre-Kindergarten Emily has a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas A&M University. Over the past two years she has gained experience teaching children in grades Kindergarten through Fifth Grade. Before and during college she worked in several private preschools and come to love teaching three and four year olds. “I love teaching and watching children grow and gain knowledge through their experiences in the classroom,” adds Emily. Mrs. Emily has been part of our team for almost three years!
Mrs. Jennifer - Pre-Kindergarten Mrs. Jennifer was born and raised in San Antonio and has an extensive background in the field of child development. She previously worked with a San Antonio based nanny agency and, most recently, worked as the lead four-year-old teacher for a Christian-based program. Jennifer says, "Working at Goddard is not just a job; it is an opportunity to carry out a passion. Being part of the Goddard team is something I consider to be an honor. It truly seems like a family and I'm so excited to be a part of it!" Mrs. Jennifer has been a part of our family for over two years!
Ms. Laura - Preschool 2
Ms. Laura is a hard working individual with a positive attitude. She loves helping children feel good about themselves and primarily focuses on encouraging and praising positive behavior. It is important to her that each child feels special and that they have something to contribute to the class, their family and their community. She has extensive experience in teaching at public and private schools, church classes, scouts and sports programs. She is certified to teach Early Childhood, Elementary and Math, but has mostly enjoyed her work with preschool age children. She has also tutored preschool through college level students, as well as being a specialized trainer using cognitive, brain-based learning. She likes to sing, read with expression, dance and various hands-on activities throughout the day. She also loves to do fun art projects and science experiments. Laura says,” I truly consider it my life’s calling to work for and care for children.”
Mrs. Sonia - Preschool 2
Sonia is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education at the University of Incarnate Ward. She is married and has two daughters that attend The Goddard School. “I am very excited to be in the Flamingo room with your children - helping them grow and learn,” adds Sonia.
Mrs. Victoria - Preschool 1 Mrs. Victoria graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Texas at San Antonio with an Early Childhood through Eighth Grade teaching certification. In college, she worked with students in Third, Second and First Grade classes. While pursuing her degree she worked as a nanny for three young toddlers and as an after-school care teacher. Over the past year she has become a member of the NAEYC, Texas AEYC, San Antonio AEYC and the Southern Early Childhood Association. Victoria says, "I come from a large family and am the oldest daughter of eight. I knew I wanted to be a teacher at a very young age. As a child, I always pretended I was a teacher and my younger siblings were my students. I am so glad I don’t have to pretend anymore. I love watching little ones learn and grow and am so proud I can be part of that developmental process."
Mrs. Mikaela - Preschool 1 Mikaela is a full -time student working towards a degree in Nursing. At the age of 15, a course in Childhood Development really sparked her interest. It was then, she realized that whatever career path she chose, she wanted to work with children on a daily basis. When she graduates as an RN, she plans to work at a Pediatric Hospital and eventually, become an Elementary School Nurse. Mikaela says, " She is honored and blessed to have a position where my job is full of joy and hardly feels like work at all."
Mrs. Anita - Toddler 2
Mrs. Anita’s father was in the United States Army, and she has traveled to numerous places, but always found her way back home to San Antonio. She graduated from John M. Marshall High School where she was enrolled in Early Child Development classes and began working with small children. Mrs. Anita has worked with children from infant to through 18 years and has been an elementary school volunteer, Sunday school teacher, Elementary P.E. Assistant, Toddler Lead Teacher, and now a Tiny Tiger Teacher!
Ms. Char - Toddler 1
Ms. Char has worked with children for many years and really enjoys her job and the energy that comes along with it. She loves to sing and dance and is fabulous with the children. Ms. Char is the Lead Teacher in the toddler room.
Ms. Abigail - Infant Room - Abigail's excitement for teaching started in middle school when she began to babysit many children as volunteer work. She participated in internships throughout high school working with a fourth grade teacher for two years. This led her to work towards a degree in Education at San Antonio College where she focused on Early Childhood/Elementary Education. After working in an elementary school setting, Abigail truly learned how much effort goes into being a teacher. She taught fourth grade as well as pre-first grade before joining The Goddard School. She has learned that each child is individually unique, and has their own style of learning. Abigail is very hands-on and loves to laugh, learn and bring excitement to her little students. She's excited to make history at The Goddard School and touch the lives of all the children that pass through her classroom.
Ms. Rosa - Infant Room Ms. Rosa has worked with children for five years. She has been a Goddard Teacher since the day we opened our doors! Children are the most important part of her life and she really enjoys being around them. She attended San Antonio College and received a Child Development Associate (CDA) degree. She is currently attending St. Phillips College and is in the process of pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Child Development. Her goal is always to make children feel comfortable coming to school, and for them to know what a safe and fun place it is to come to every day! By achieving that goal, she is able to provide a foundation to build their learning skills and prepare them for their next stages in life!
Ms. Brandi - Infant Room - Brandi is currently attending UTSA where she is majoring in Psychology with a minor in Biology. Her ultimate goal is to obtain a Doctorate degree in Psychology and become a pediatric neuropsychologist. It is intriguing and exciting to watch children grow and learn, and she is so happy to be helping little ones develop their minds in so many ways. Brandi has previously worked in both Arlon Seay and Bill Brown elementary schools in the Comal ISD, where she supervised and helped tutor children with their academics. It was after working in these elementary settings that Brandi realized how much she really enjoys working with children and now that she is at Goddard Brandi feels lucky to have the opportunity to work with younger age groups and expand her knowledge and experience with them.
Ms. Lindsay
Ms. Lindsay graduated from Iowa Lakes Community College in 2008, with an A.S. degree in Early Childhood Education. She worked at a preschool for almost six years while completing high school and college and has worked with children of all ages. She has also has experience in being a nanny and worked in a Head Start Program. She has worked at The Goddard School since June 2010.
Mrs. Gina
Mrs. Gina has worked in childcare for over 20 years and began her career with the Gerber Company at one of their daycare facilities. She feels blessed to have worked at a few of the best day cares and mother’s day out programs in San Antonio. She recently finished the school year with Coker MDO and Parkhills preschool. According to Ms. Gina, “I look forward to enhancing the children’s learning and being a part of their growing experience. I also look forward to being of service to you.”
Ms. Emily E. Ms. Emily is currently attending Our Lady of the Lake University pursuing a degree in Speech Language Pathology with a minor in Psychology. She used to work at a Goddard School located in New Jerseyand is happy to be back with the Goddard family in Texas. Ms. Emily "believes that every child deserves the chance to learn which is why she like to give each child a unique learning experience."
Ms. Rosa G. Ms. Rosa is currently in her last year at Grand Canyon University where she is pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in Education with a focus in English. She has been working with children for 10 years and her goal is to become a principal at an elementary school. Ms. Rosa says, "I am really excited about working with your child and look forward to many lasting friendships and experiences. Thank you for allowing me to make a difference in your child’s life."
