Ms. Lori Ms. Lori is the new Director of Operations for The Goddard School, taking on the role in January of 2012. Lori has over 20 years of experience working with children of all ages and 12 years working directly in the childcare industry for Knowledge Learning Corporation. Lori has her Master's degree from Ellis College and a Bachelor's degree from Carthage College. Lori is excited to be with Goddard and to be involved in The Goddard School family.
Ms. Sarah - Sarah joined The Goddard School family in April 2008 as the Lead Teacher in the Infant room. In July of 2009, Sarah became the Director of Education. Sarah has a Child Development Associate (CDA) degree specifically related to Infants and Toddlers along with 14 hours of Early Childhood Education courses. She also has an Illinois Department of Public Health Food Service certificate and CPR/Choking certification as well as a variety of in-service training certificates. “I found my passion for educating back in 1995 while working in a home-based childcare center, since then I have been working with various age groups in the early childhood field,” adds Sarah.
Ms. Lidia Ms. Lidia joined us in August 2011 as the Lead Teacher in our Infant Room, The Cuddling Cubs. Ms. Lidia has her CDA as well as two years of early childhood education through a Lake County vocational program and over fifteen years of experience working with children ages infant to pre-kindergarten.
Ms. Carolina
Ms. Carolina became a Goddard team member as an Assistant Teacher in the Cuddling Cub’s Infant classroom in December of 2011 and is extremely happy to be a part of the infant team. Carolina can also be seen during lunch and nap time in the Chipmunks and Deers classrooms! She started college at CLC working on her general education classes before realizing she had a passion for working with children. Since then, Carolina has been working with children for over 5 years. Currently she is working on her Child Development Associate Certificate in the content area of Infants and Toddlers.
Ms. Kelly
Ms. Kelly joined the Goddard School team in May of 2012, and is one of the Teachers for the Cuddling Cubs Infant classroom. She is very happy to be a part of the wonderful Goddard team. Kelly obtained her Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education with minors in Special Education from Kendall College and has many years of experience in other daycare facilities as well as with babysitting for families. Ms. Kelly says: " I have a love for children that is unexplainable. Watching them grow and learn, as well as their smiling faces, is what pulled me into this field. I look forward to many great moments and memories with all of the children and family members!"
Ms. Sarah G. Ms. Sarah joined Goddard in July 2011 as an assistant teacher in the Darling Deers classroom and effective March 2012 took on the role as the Lead Teacher in the Cheerful Chipmunk classroom and can not be more excited. Sarah has a Bachelor's degree in Leisure Studies and Child Life Emphasis from the University of Iowa as well as many years of experience working with children of all ages.
Ms. Danyl Ms. Danyl is the Assistant Teacher in the Pre-Toddler classroom, called the Cheerful Chipmunks. Danyl joined us in November 2011 and is happy to be working with the toddler children. Danyl received her CDA in 2009 and is hoping to one day soon take on a Lead teacher position within the Goddard School program.
Ms. Amanda Ms. Amanda is the afternoon Assistant Teacher for the Pre-Toddlers, the Cheerful Chipmunks and the Toddlers, the Darling Deers. Amanda is currently a student at the College of Lake County working towards her Bachelor's degree in Psychology and hopes to one day work as a Psychologist. Amanda looks forward to getting to know all of the Goddard families and their children.
Ms. Deb Deb is our Toddler Lead Teacher working in the Darling Deer classroom. Deb joined us in August of 2011 and has jumped right into her teacher role. Deb has a Bachelor of Science in Education and has attended a Master's degree program in Special Education at Northeastern University. Deb believes that education is the most important commodity any human being can possess and hopes to bring that philosophy to all of our Goddard children.
Ms. Elyse - Ms. Elyse joined Goddard in October 2010 as the Lead Teacher in our Graceful Swans classroom which is filled with our two-year-old friends. Ms. Elyse has a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Iowa and is very excited to work with our two year old friends. Ms. Elyse tells us, "I love children and look forward to gaining more hands-on experience and expanding my knowledge of the development of children while teaching at Goddard."
Ms. Becky - Becky is excited to have joined The Goddard School in April 2010. She is currently an Assistant Teacher in the Two's classroom, The Graceful Swans and is loving every minute with the children. Becky's education includes: attending North Central College and McHenry County College to complete her general education courses and will soon begin working towards a degree in Elementary Education. Becky looks forward to many great moments and memories with all of the children.
Ms. Julie A. Julie joined the Goddard program in September 2011 as a part time assistant teacher working with the younger age groups from Pre-Toddlers to Get Set. Julie has over five years experience working with preschool children. When Julie is not at Goddard working with the children she works at a Christian based preschool program interacting and implementing lesson plans daily. Julie currently holds a Bachelor's degree of Science in Early Childhood Education from Illinois State University.
Ms. Jen H. - Ms. Jen joined us in September 2010 as an Assistant Teacher to our Kindergarten and School-Age children working on homework, playing games and learning how to read. As of July 2011, Ms. Jen accepted a full time position as the Assistant Teacher in our Preschool classroom, the Busy Bears. Jen is currently enrolled to take early childhood classes in Fall 2011 to further her education and become lead teacher qualified.
Ms. Linda - Linda joined The Goddard School® located in Round Lake in the spring of 2008. She is the Lead Teacher in one of our Preschool classrooms known as the Jumping Jackrabbits. Linda attended Morton College where she earned a degree in Liberal Arts. Linda has been working with children for the past seven years and can’t imagine doing anything else. Her background includes experience working with infants through school-age children.
Ms. Ali - Ms. Ali is a full time Assistant Teacher in our Preschool program, also known as the Jumping Jack Rabbits. Since Ali started working at Goddard in February of 2010 she feels as if she has found a permanent home and loves working with the three-year-old's each and every day. She has been working with children since she started babysitting at the age of twelve and has continued to do so up until today. Ali attended two years of college for Elementary Education with an emphasis in Special Education at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. She is very happy to be part of The Goddard School family!
Ms. Alayna Alayna joined the Goddard team in August 2011 as a part time Assistant Teacher for the Jumping Jack Rabbits & Mighty Elks classrooms! Alayna is currently taking Early Childhood Education classes at CLC. Alayna has spent a great deal of time working at the CLC tech campus with children ages three to five years and is very excited to begin a new chapter in life working with our Preschool & Pre-K children.
Ms. Robin - Ms. Robin is a graduate from Southern Illinois University with a Bachelor's of Science in Elementary Education. Ms. Robin has spent the last five years working with children through babysitting, course work and as an assistant teacher in a Kindergarten program. Ms. Robin joined the Goddard family in May 2010 as the Toddler Lead Teacher. Efective August 2011 she accepted a role as the Lead Teacher in our Pre-Kindergarten 1 room, The Mighty Elks!
Ms. Lauren M. Lauren joined us in February 2011 as a full time assistant. Lauren is a graduate of Northern Illinois University with a Bachelor's degree in Early Elementary Education. Lauren has worked with children of all ages and has wanted to become a teacher from a young age and could not imagine any other profession she would prefer. Lauren is very excited to recently become the full time assistant teacher in the Mighty Elks classroom!
Ms. Jene - Jene is the Lead Teacher in our Pre-Kindergarten 2 classroom, the River Otters. She truly enjoys working with the Pre-Kindergartners on a daily basis. Jene attended the College of Lake County where she was working towards an Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education. Recently she began attending Columbia College of Missouri where she is taking online courses in Human Services. Since joining us in November 2010 Jene really enjoys being a teacher and working with the children and their families. "I take great joy in helping children learn, grow and preparing them for their future learning," adds Jene.
Ms. Tomika Ms. Tomika is one of the newest members of the Goddard family, joining us in November of 2011. She recently has come on board full time as the Assistant Teacher in the Pre-Kindergarten 2 classroom, known as the River Otters. Tomika has been working with children since 1998 and is currently working on getting her degree from Kendall College where she is studying Early Childhood Education.
Ms. Julie Julie has joined The Goddard School in August of 2010 as the assistant teacher in the Kindergarten Room, The Rascally Raccoons. We are proud to announce that effective November 2011 she is taking on the Lead Teacher role for the Kindergarten children. Julie has her Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from the University of Illinois State and has many years of teaching experience with a wide range of age groups.
Ms. Rachel Ms. Rachel joined us in September of 2011 as the Assistant Teacher in the Kindergarten program, the Rascally Raccoons. Rachel holds a degree from NIU as a Special Education teacher and is currently working towards her Master's degree in Special Education and Early Childhood Education. Rachel is excited to work in a environment that allows her to help children and their families.
Ms. Sue H. - Sue is an Assistant Teacher in our School-Age program on a part time basis assisting the children with homework and finding fun afternoon activities to do each day. Sue joined us in October of 2009 and has been helping in a wide variety of classrooms. She attended Eastern Illinois University and received a Bachelor's degree in Business Education. Her background of experience working with children includes teaching high school students and raising children of her own. When she's not at Goddard she works as an elementary school teacher's aide. Sue is very excited to be working with children of all ages on a daily basis.
Ms. April - April has joined The Goddard School in the Fall of 2009 as Food Service Manager. April has worked extensively in the restaurant industry with companies such as Lettuce Entertain You. April has many great food menu ideas that will offer many healthy and nutritious foods for the children to eat each day.
Ms. Jayme
Ms. Jayme is currently a substitute Teacher filling in for The Darling Deers Classroom! Jayme has been working with children for over 12 years and holds a degree in both Early Childhood and Elementary Education. During her free time she enjoys camping with family and scrapbooking. Jayme feels that children and their different milestones are the most important memories in life and she enjoys preserving these memories for a lifetime as kids are young and grow up so fast.
Ms. Sheryl - Sheryl has been brought on board as our full time Bus Driver effective 2010 to drive our School-Age and Kindergarten friends to and from school each day. Sheryl originally started in October 2009 as a part-time bus driver, however, over the course of a year our School-Age program has expanded and she is out all day performing bus runs. Sheryl is also often found around the school helping in classrooms as needed.
Ms. Allison
Ms. Allison is proud to be the Lead teacher in the Preschool 1 classroom, The Busy Bears joining them in May of 2012! Allison is also very excited to be a part of the Goddard School and looks forward to working with and teaching all of these great children. Allison graduated in May of 2012 with a Bachelors Degree from Illinois State University in Early Childhood Education. However, having several years experience working with young children in an education setting she believes each child is their own individual who needs different types of environments to learn in and can’t wait to help provide those learning experiences to the children at The Goddard School.
Ms. Diane - Ms. Diane has been working at Goddard since September of 2007 filling in for a variety of roles within the center such as a Lead Teacher, program support and Assistant Teacher. Currently she is offering up her expertise as a floater throughout the center. Ms. Diane attended Macon State College and CLC where she is currently enrolled in several Early Childhood Education courses. Diane has been teaching preschool for over twenty years. She believes that children are our future and enjoys teaching them well and guiding them gently as they go their own sweet way.
