PROGRAM ENRICHMENTS
In addition to our Fun Learning Experience (FLEX) curriculum, we offer the following curricular resources at no additional charge:

Second Language: Time to Sign
• This program introduces children to American Sign Language.
• Sign allows infants to communicate their pre-verbal wants and needs.
• Children, as young as infants, learn to sign through the use of songs, games, stories and play.
• Sign helps children communicate, understand, acquire, spell, speak and read words more effectively.
• Sign has been shown to reduce conflict, facilitate an understanding of human emotions, and increase children’s confidence and self-esteem.

Second Language: Spanish
• Through the use of games, songs and many activities, the children will learn basic Spanish vocabulary.
• Research indicates that a bilingual approach with children enhances literacy skills and activates brain growth and development.

Physical Education: B.A.S.E. for Fitness

• This program helps build skills in Balance, Agility, Strength and Endurance.
• Exposes children to the skills necessary to support their active lives, to develop positive self-esteem and to set the foundation for a healthy lifestyle.
• Studies have shown that physical education is linked to social skill acquisition, which includes sharing, kindness, helpfulness and cooperation.
• The development of readiness skills such as listening, creativity and problem solving have been linked to physical education.

Physical Education: Yogaroo

• Teachers use guidelines to augment cross-curricular learning through motor skills, science, math, language arts and social skills.
• The program is designed to educate the “whole” child through age-appropriate activities to enhance the emotional, social, intellectual and physical development of each child.
• Regular yoga practice helps children become more aware of their inner selves, which in turn helps them learn to release anger, frustration and fears.

Social Science: The Goddard Guide to Getting Along

• This program is designed to foster the acquisition of four essential skills: Friendship, Compassion, Cooperation and Kindness.
• The program’s wide variety of age-appropriate activities inspire thoughtful discussion and provide opportunities for skill building at age-appropriate levels, even for children as young as 18 months old.
• Providing a foundation of courtesy and respect for children is the responsibility of parents and schools working in partnership.
• Lessons on Stranger Danger teach children to recognize unsafe situations, react and respond appropriately, and differentiate between situations in which personal safety is more important than using good manners.

SAFETY FEATURES
• Fingersafe®: We have installed Fingersafe in our classroom doorways. Fingersafe is a revolutionary door safety device that protects children from the hinge area of doors.
• Video Security: We have outdoor color cameras on our two playground areas, and in our entry way.
• Shade from the Sun: We have installed shade structures on both of our playground areas.
