Miss Amanda - Lead Infant Teacher (Joey Room) - Welcome to The Goddard School®! My name is Miss Amanda and I have two years experience in this field, and I also worked for Lyon County School district for 2 years prior to that. I am currently seeking my AA degree at TMCC in Early Childhood Education. I have quite a handful of credits solely devoted to Infants and Toddler development. I look forward to meeting you and getting to know your child!

Miss Jesseca - Assistant Infant Teacher (Joey Room) - I am currently going to school at TMCC where I am pursuing my Associates degree in both Early Elementary and Special Education. I have worked in child care for several years and have experience working with children from birth to age 12. I am excited to be working here at The Goddard School® and am looking forward to meeting all of you!

Miss Ashley - Assistant Infant Teacher/Floater (Joey Room) - I graduated from Spanish Springs High School and during that time I found my passion working with children. I took multiple Child and Human Development classes during high school. I also worked at an in-home child care program for 2 years. I am excited to be here and to be given the opportunity to develop your children. Welcome to The Goddard School®.

Miss Cara - Lead 1 Year Old Teacher (Penguin Room) - I am so excited for the opportunity to get to know you and your child. I am looking forward to a long and mutually rewarding relationship as your child’s teacher. My background includes over 12 years in the field of Early Childhood Education. I have worked as a teacher, caregiver, program director, youth counselor, and Girl Scout leader. I am passionate about children’s rights and high quality programs for children. Between work and family I stay surrounded by children and activities. It’s a hectic life and I wouldn’t have it any other way!

Miss Amanda - Assistant 1 Year-old Teacher (Penguin Room) - I am currently going to school for Early childhood Development. I have worked in a preschool for one year and have a lot of personal experience. Since I was 15 my parents participated in foster care for infants and toddlers. My family adopted four children and I have helped raise them. I thoroughly enjoy working with infants and toddlers.

Miss Morgan - Lead 1 Year Old Teacher (Panda Room) - I am a Bachelor of Fine Arts graduate from the Academy of Art College with a major in Photography. After graduating I moved to the Sierras where I continued my education in Early Childhood Development at Feather River College. I have two years of experience as an assistant preschool teacher and two years of experience as a nanny to a special needs child. I am looking forward to working with children again!

Miss Kathy - Lead 2 Year Old Teacher (Monkey Room) - I achieved my Bachelor’s of Science degree in business administration from UNLV. While going to school I worked in child care; I have worked with children from 6 weeks to 12 years of age. After graduating, I became a manager at the child care center where I had been teaching. I moved to Reno to pursue my Master’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Nevada, Reno. Once I moved to Reno I began working in child care again. I also obtained my substitution license for grades K-12 and have spent some time substituting for the Washoe County School District as well as private schools. Now, I feel fortunate to find myself here at The Goddard School®. I have always loved kids and have had a passion for teaching. My teaching philosophy is that a child is like a sponge that wants to absorb anything and everything that you are willing to provide. That is why it is imperative to put the time and dedication into their education.

Miss Stephanie - Assistant 2 Year Old Teacher (Monkey Room) - Hello, my name is Stephanie and I am currently a college student at UNR and TMCC in pursuit of a degree in Speech Pathology. I have also coached gymnastics for many years. I can’t wait to meet all of your cute and energetic children!

Miss Colleen - Assistant 2 Year Old Teacher (Monkey Room) - I am currently attending the University of Nevada, Reno. I will graduate in May 2009 with a Bachelors of Science in Human Development and Family Studies focusing on Early Childhood Development and with a certificate as a Certified Family Life Educator. I am currently enrolled in my third Sign Language class and enjoy being outdoors hiking, camping, and doing water sports. I am very excited to teach at The Goddard School® and I look forward to getting to know your child!

Miss Sarah - Assistant 2 Year Old Teacher (Monkey Room) - I am so excited to be here at The Goddard School®. I am currently attending the University of Nevada, Reno. I will graduate in May with my bachelors in Elementary Education. When I graduate I hope to get my Masters in Early Childhood Development. I also have studied Spanish and lived in Spain for six months. I am so excited to work with you and your child!

Miss Chelsea - Lead 2 Year Old Teacher (Giraffe Room) - Hello, my name is Chelsea and I am so pleased to be a part of the Goddard family! Nothing makes me happier than nurturing and teaching young children. That’s why I have been educating for ten years! I strongly believe that everyone should continue their education, and my goal is to finish my degree in Child Psychology. I know how important it is to know that your child is being properly taught and cared for. Therefore, it is my promise and my commitment to always provide a loving environment first and foremost. Miss Karen - Assistant 2 Year Old Teacher (Giraffe Room) - I am very happy to be working here at The Goddard School®. I studied Early childhood Education for two years and then opened my own child care business, “Karemom’s Child Care”. After sixteen years in the business, I “retired” to become a stay at home mom. It is very exciting to be back working at the profession I love.

Miss Patti - Lead 3 Year Old Teacher (Fox Room) - I graduated with a B.S. degree from the College of Education at Florida State University. I have over eight years of preschool teaching experience. I look forward to meeting my students and parents as well!

Miss Danielle - Lead 3 Year Old Teacher (Polar Bear Room) - Hello! My name is Danielle and I will be your Polar Bear teacher! I am currently finishing my B.S. at the University of Nevada, Reno in Educational Psychology. I have worked in and around Reno at both professional and in-home child care providers. In addition, I also spent three years working in the special education and autism departments through Washoe County School District. As a new mother and the oldest of five children, I have the dedication and love it takes to provide an information rich environment for your little one. I cannot wait to meet you all and embark on this new experience together!

Miss Nicole - Assistant 3 Year Old Teacher (Polar Bear Room) - Hello! My name is Miss Nicole and I am thrilled to be teaching at The Goddard School®. I am originally from California but I have been living in Reno for the past two years. I moved to Reno to continue my college education and to participate on UNR’s Equestrian team. I will graduate from UNR in December with a B.A. in Speech Communications and my minor in Psychology. Last Spring I studied abroad on the Semester at Sea program where I visited eleven different countries around the world while receiving twelve college credits toward my degree. Semester at Sea was an unbelievable experience and was a voyage of discovery for me. I have always had a love for children and in each new country I visited, I was continually drawn to interacting with them. After meeting the children of the world, I knew I wanted to become a teacher. I am excited to be part of The Goddard School® and I can’t wait to bring a new sense of the world into the classroom.

Miss Carla - Lead Pre-K Teacher (Eagle Room) - Hi! My name is Carla, and I would like to welcome you to The Goddard School®. I am so excited to meet you and your children. I have been working with children for nine years in Los Angeles, California, and now here in Reno, Nevada. I attended UCLA for my Early Childhood Education degree, and am bi-lingual in Spanish. I am so happy to be a part of The Goddard School® team and again WELCOME!

Miss Amy - Assistant Pre-K Teacher (Eagle Room) - Hello, my name is Miss Amy and I attended the University of California Irvine and received a Bachelor’s degree in Studio Art with an emphasis in sculptural installation. I also studied Spanish, biology, and ecology in Costa Rica while attending UC Irvine. After graduating Summa Cum Laude, I took a teaching assistant position at Alicante school, working with emotionally disturbed elementary students. I hoped to pursue the Peace Corps service in order to gain experience before entering graduate school. In preparation for my application to the Peace Corps I studied French by living abroad in Paris, France. In 2007, I was accepted into the Peace Corps and served as a rural health educator and agriculture volunteer in Senegal, West Africa. Now I am pursuing a Master’s Degree in Agriculture with an emphasis in Food Science and Nutrition, while working full-time for The Goddard School®.

Miss Michelle - Education Director - Hello, my name is Miss Michelle and I received my B.S. in Child Development, Family Relations, and Psychology from the University of Idaho. I have been working with children of all ages for about 10 years, from infants to Kindergarten. I spent three years working as a preschool/Pre-K teacher/acting director at a nearby preschool. I am originally from Idaho, however I lived in Indonesia for several years and have been able to travel all over the world. This instilled a passion for traveling and studying other cultures and I enjoy bringing my experiences into the school. I am very excited to be a part of The Goddard School®! We have a great faculty who are all here because they want to make a difference and The Goddard School® has provided us with an environment that facilitates that. Chelli Motherway - Owner - Hi my name is Chelli. Ryan and I are proud to be part of The Goddard School®. We recognize that our School will only be as good as our teachers. We are delighted with the teachers that we’ve hired; please look for every opportunity to thank them for their hard work and dedication. We are parents of two children, our son Connor is a Goddard graduate and our daughter Elle is currently in the Polar Bear room. I have a BA in Business Administration from Baldwin-Wallace College and most of my professional career was spent in the area of Human Resource Management. I am truly enjoying my career transition to enriching the lives of children. We have recently moved here from Hudson, Ohio (GO BUCKS!) and are appreciating the Nevada sunshine. Outside of The Goddard School®, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, running, reading a good magazine and relaxing in the outdoors. I want to welcome everyone to our School and I look forward to getting to know each of our children and their families.

Ryan Motherway - Owner - Hi, my name is Ryan. Chelli and I are incredibly excited about and committed to making this School a special place for your child. Please do not hesitate to ask us questions or suggest improvements that we could make to the School. We also welcome any criticism you have about our School – it will only help us make the School better. In regards to my background, I have a wonderful family including my son, Connor and daughter, Elle. I have a BA in Economics from UCLA and an MBA from Case Western Reserve University. I spent the last 13 years working in operations management for a large industrial supplier. Outside of School, I enjoy spending time with my family, running, and taking in an occasional college football game on Saturdays.
