Our management team also has an open door policy for all parents and guardians. Parents and guardians are encouraged to call the school or stop by the office of the owners or director with any questions, concerns, comments, and feedback!
We have limited availability in many of our classrooms. Please call to schedule a tour or stop by anytime. We look forward to meeting you and your child!
Enrichment Programs
Goddard School teachers integrate various enrichment programs into their lesson plans in order to enhance the learning experience every day. The following list of curriculum resources are included in your tuition and will enhance your child's learning experience here at The Goddard School®:
The Fitness Program
B.A.S.E. for Fitness (Balance, Agility, Strength and Endurance): This program is a fitness program that promotes an active lifestyle.
Yoga: This program improves focus, balance, body awareness and control, creativity, and flexibility.
The Social Science Program
Building Language for Literacy™: This program is a theme-based, hands-on approach to social science.
Goddard Guide to Getting Along™: This program integrates friendship, compassion, cooperation and kindness as well as a Stranger Danger component.
World Cultures: This program expands on the history, geography, culture, language, art, and symbols of a region. Children embark on six "voyages" where they explore the inhabited continents of the world: Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, South America, and Oceania. The World Cultures curriculum promotes awareness and understanding in a culturally diverse world, community, and school.
The Arts Program
Music Preludes: This program is an innovative music appreciation program that encourages self-expression and creativity.
Rock-n-Tot Creative Dance Play: This program introduces children to the fundamentals of dance.
The Language Program
Time to Sign: This program introduces children to American Sign Language.
Foreign Language-Spanish: This program introduces vocabulary and culture by exposing children to games, songs, and activities.
Cozy Corner:This program is an innovative early language and literacy program that reaches across the community and curriculum. It builds upon the rich tradition of Storytime by sharing quality children’s books, engaging in topic-rich conversations, and heightening curiosity through music and active learning.
Wiggle Works
The WiggleWorks software provides each student with a unique scaffolded learning experience. Each WiggleWorks title is available on the computer with support options for every child, no matter what his or her instructional needs. Built-in tools and activities support children’s developing phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension and writing skills.
The Handwriting Program
Handwriting Without Tears
Handwriting fluency is fundamental to learning because children think and write at the same time. When we teach children to write, we also teach them how to express themselves. If they struggle to form their letters, their ability to express themselves will suffer. Children who don’t master handwriting may be slow, sloppy, or illegible writers. This program focuses on fun and achievement to optimize children’s curiosity and joy of learning throughout school. The goal is to help students learn proper handwriting habits and then apply those habits naturally and automatically to all writing experiences that they’ll take throughout elementary school, high school, and beyond. The HWT curriculum starts when children enter kindergarten. By playing, singing and building letters, they develop important skills they need to print words, sentences, paragraphs, and eventually transition to cursive.
The Math and Science Program
Everyday Mathematics
Everyday Mathematics is a comprehensive Pre-K and Kindergarten math curriculum developed by the University of Chicago School Mathematics Project, and published by Wright Group/ McGraw Hill. The research-based approach is anchored in real-world applications and based on the assessed needs of children. For more than twenty years, Everyday Mathematics has helped students measure up to the demand for greater mathematical competence and problem-solving ability.
Newbridge Big Book Science
Within the Newbridge curriculum, each science concept is introduced by a colorful big book and supported by a corresponding teacher's guide. The series is geared toward 24 month old students through Kindergarten. 24 Big Books in all make explaining elements of water, air, and fire, as well as the physical states of solid, liquid, and gas as easy as ABC!
KidScientific
KidScientific has fun experiments that are simple and use everyday items around the home or school. These experiments are teacher-directed for small groups and individual activities are presented.
Summer Readiness Program
Offering a helping hand for your child over the summer, The Goddard School Summer Readiness Program is based on meeting each child's unique learning needs. Unlike most school districts, summer camps, and preschools, children in The Goddard School Enrichment Program will undergo various assessments to determine their academic needs as well as interviews and observation sessions to discern their individual learning styles. The Summer Readiness Program offers curriculum continuity by The Goddard School FLEX Curriculum as well as additional ongoing assessment evaluations to determine a child's growth. During the Summer Readiness Program, parents will partner with teachers to assess and review academic progress by conferencing and communicating throughout the session as well as formally in pre- and post-program interviews. The Goddard School Summer Enrichment Program will meet the needs of each individual child in an exciting theme-based summer program where a child can learn in a fun, positive atmosphere!
