I enjoy working with the babies in the Infant room and look forward to working with each of our Goddard families.

Susan A.

Susan graduated from Boston College with a B.A. in Elementary Education. She was a first grade teacher for 12 years before becoming  stay-at-home mother. Susan discovered her true passion for working with young children when teaching a class of toddlers. When moving to Kansas, she decided to return to teaching full-time, but wanted to work with her new love--preschoolers!

Joining the fantastic group of teachers here at The Goddard School is a dream come true for Susan. Her goal is to foster a love of self, discovery, creativity and learning for each child in her joy-filled class.

Kara L. Kara is the Lead teacher in Preschool Room 7.  She completed her student teaching in Early Childhood Education with an emphasis in Early Intervention through Head Start of Olathe and served a special needs internship with an emphasis in behavior disorders and autism through Olathe School District.  Before coming to The Goddard School, Kara worked for 2 years as a paraprofessional for preschool children with special needs in the Blue Valley School District.  She knew from a very early age that she wanted to be a teacher.  She loves the visual growth that occurs during this age and working with children that are so open to learning and able to make such huge leaps in their skills and abilities.

She loves spending days rattling off the alphabet, smeared to her elbows in finger paint, and knee deep in rambunctious four-year-olds. Kara believes in hands-on experience and nurturing creativity and activities that foster wonder and imagination beyond ABC's.  She introduces children to the world of school with engaging activities and thinks that everybody remembers their first teacher.  Kara hopes that someday in the future her students will think of her. “It's a heavy responsibility to bear, but I think it's pretty cool.”

Lori has a BS in Elementary Education from Illinois State University. Lori is committed to Kindergarten readiness and preparing your children to begin their educational journey with confidence and success.  She believes a strong educational foundation begins with reading and, in particular, with children being read to as much as possible. One of the most important activities we can do with a child is read, read, read!
