Faculty Bios

Orange, CT

Miss Amy, Teacher, Loveable Lambs -

Amy joins us here at The Goddard School®  with several years of experience in the Early Childhood field, specifically with Infant and Toddler age groups.  She also holds an Associate’s degree in addition to 120 class hours from the Child Care Education Institute.    

Miss Jessica, Teacher, Loveable Lambs -

 Jessica joins the Goddard team with a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and eight years of experience in this field, with the last 6 years working specifically with infants. 

Miss Robin, Teacher, Darling Ducklings - Miss Robin has an Associate  degree in Early Childhood Education with a focus on Special Needs. She will also be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education with a minor in Disabilities. Miss Robin has been working with children for the past thirty years. She loves to help children learn, explore and experience the environment around them. Miss Robin is a lifetime educator and we are proud to have her at The Goddard School.

Miss Nicole, Teacher, Toddling Turtles - Miss Nicole has been working with children of all ages for the past seven year and she is pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education. Nicole enjoys watching children grow into young adults and is an integral part of our Goddard Team.

Miss Rachel, Teacher, Toddling Turtles Miss Rachel comes to The Goddard School with four years of experience working with children and currently holds a Bachelor's degree in English. We are very excited to have Miss Rachel join our team.

Miss Joyce, Teacher and Coordinator, Bouncing Bunnies - Miss Joyce has many years of experience working with toddlers and preschoolers and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. Miss Joyce has a wonderful way with toddlers and has worked at Goddard since our opening day in January of 2006. Miss Joyce can often be found sitting on the floor reading a book to her toddlers, or helping them at the tables with their art creations.

Miss Brittany, Teacher, Bouncing Bunnies -

Miss Brittany comes to The Goddard School with prior experience in early childhood education, most recently working as a nanny to an infant and toddler.  In addition, she has studied Psychology at Lee University in Tennessee. Miss Brittany has a love for children and a passion for creating a fun learning environment. We are excited to have her be a part of our team!

 

 

Miss Katabba, Teacher, Playful Piglets - Miss Katabba has been working with children for the past ten years and is currently pursuing her Associate degree in Early Childhood Education. Katabba's love for children shows in many ways in the classroom.  You can always hear Miss Katabba's voice echoing gently throughout our hallways as she transitions her children with song from one activity to the next.  We are proud to have her as part of our Goddard Team.

Miss Melissa, Teacher, Playful Piglets - Miss Melissa has three years experience working with children and after-school programs and joins us with an Associate degree in Early Childhood Education.  She is currently pursuing her Bachelor's degree in Education.  Miss Melissa enjoys working with children of all ages and is excited to be a part of our team.

Miss Eileen, Teacher, Prancing Ponies - Miss Eileen joins The Goddard School with 20 years experience in Early Childhood Education. She enjoys teaching the older Toddlers and loves to integrate many creative projects and ideas. We are excited to have her as part of our Goddard team.

Miss Laura, Teacher, Prancing Ponies - Miss Laura comes to The Goddard School with six years of Early Childhood Education experience and holds a BS in Social Work from Southern Connecticut State University.  She is eager to meet and get to know everyone at The Goddard School.

Miss Tara - Teacher, Sharing Sheep - Ms. Tara, joins us here at The Goddard School with 19 years experience in the Early Childhood field and comes highly recommended.  She holds a BS from Sacred Heart University and an Head Teacher Certificate from the State of Connecticut.

Miss Jean - Teacher, Sharing Sheep - Miss Jean joined us with over 20 years experience working with young children and has been with us since our opening day in January of 2006. Jean has worked in various classrooms from Get Set through Kindergarten. This year she will be joining our preschool classroom to work with the children on a variety of enrichment activities, including singalongs and creative art.  We are proud to have her as part of our team.

Miss Catherine, Teacher, Giggling Goats - Miss Catherine, who currently a teacher in our Preschool 2 program, holds a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education.  She speaks fluent Spanish and incorporates the language into her classroom environment.  We are proud to have her be an influential part of our Goddard team.

Miss Aleida, Teacher, Giggling Goats - Miss Aleida comes to The Goddard School with thirteen years of Early Childhood Education experience. She loves to integrate art and music into the classroom and encourages children to solve problems, ask questions and use words to describe their ideas. Miss Aleida is a welcome addition to the preschool classroom and our school.

Miss Amy, Teacher and Coordinator, Reader Rabbits - Miss Amy has a number of years experience in Education and holds a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design as well as a teaching credential in Elementary Education. She currently holds a Connecticut Certification in Elementary and Art Education and is a teacher in our Pre-K program.  Miss Amy is an integral part of the Goddard team of teachers.

Miss Marika, Teacher, Reader Rabbits - Miss Marika joins us with years of experience in the field of Early Childhood Education and is a graduate of the Shoreline School of Art and Music. Miss Marika's background in art and music has been a wonderful asset to her classroom experience and to all of us at Goddard.

Miss Paige - Teacher, Happy Horses - Miss Paige, who has been working with children for eight years, holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Curriculum and Instruction in the Early Grade.  She enjoys teaching children and watching them grow as learners and is very excited to be a part of the Kindergarten classroom this year.  We are excited to have her be a part of our team.

Miss Erin, Teacher, Happy Horses - Miss Erin, who is one of the teachers in our Kindergarten classroom, holds a Master's degree in Education as well as an Master's in Business Administration.  She loves to work with children and is excited to be able to share her knowledge, experience and creativity with our Kindergarteners. We are thrilled to have Erin as part of our Goddard team.

Meet Our Owner, Kim - Kim is the Owner and On-Site Operator of The Goddard School® located in Orange. Kim has a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s degree in Elementary Curriculum. She has ten years of teaching experience at the elementary level. In addition to a background in Education, Kim also has years of practical experience raising her two young children! She is very excited to be a part of the Orange Community and looks forward to continuing to work with all of the children and families enrolled as well as the new families that will soon be coming through our door. During her free time, Kim enjoys spending time with her two children and extended family, listening to music, shopping, vacationing and learning new things.

Meet Our Director of Operations, Miss Sue-Ann - Miss Sue-Ann is the Director of Operations at The Goddard School® located in Orange. Sue-Ann has been in the field of Early Childhood Education for the past fifteen years. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Development and a Master’s degree in Elementary Education. Sue-Ann has her National Administrator's Credential from the National Child Care Association, a Head Teacher Certificate from the State of Connecticut for children Birth to Five Years, as well as School-Age. In addition to all of her background in Early Childhood Education, Sue-Ann is also fluent in Spanish. She comes to us with a great deal of prior experience directing large preschool and childcare facilities. We are thrilled she accepted the position and joined our ‘family’ at The Goddard School® located in Orange prior to our opening in November of 2005.

Meet Our Director of Education, Miss Melody Miss Melody came to The Goddard School® in March of 2007 with a Bachelor's degree in Communications and a Master of Science degree in Elementary Education. Melody also has New York and Connecticut State certifications to teach grades K-6 as well as a Head Teacher Certificate from the State of Connecticut for children Birth to Five Years and School-Age.  She has been sharing her love of reading with the children in our Preschool through Kindergarten programs since the beginning of her tenure at Goddard. Melody, who is fluent in Spanish, has also been instrumental in beginning a training program for Goddard faculty members and has now taken on the new role of Director of Education after earning her CT State Directors' Credential in 2011. 

Miss Casey, Fabulous Floater - Casey comes to The Goddard School with a number of years of experience working with many different age groups in early childhood education.  She holds a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Purdue University and can be seen helping out in our preschool through kindergarten classrooms.  We are excited to have Miss Casey as part of our team!

Mr. Josh, Fabulous Floater - Mr. Josh, a junior at the University of Connecticut has joined the Goddard team. He is currently pursuing his degree in Psychology with particular interests in developmental and abnormal psychology. Josh is creative, vibrant and loved by all the children. His motivation and expertise are well appreciated at The Goddard School. Josh's team player attitude makes each and every day a happy one. Josh likes sports and instruments - he plays the guitar, drums and even the ukulele.

Miss Seyedeh, Fabulous Floater - Welcome back, Ms. Seyedeh who is rejoining our team as a fabulous floater. The children are all so excited to have her smile back! 

Miss Alpa, Fabulous Floater - Miss Alpa joins our team as a fabulous floater.  Alpa comes to The Goddard School from California where she owned her own home-based childcare business with infants and toddlers. We are excited to have her join our team!

Miss Melissa, Snack & Lunch Coordinator, Fabulous Floater - Miss Melissa joins us with a wealth of experience in the preschool aged classrooms. She is currently responsible for coordinating and implementing the nutritious snack and lunch program at our school. She schedules the purchasing and ordering of our fruits and veggies, plans our menus and assists in the classrooms wherever needed.  In addition, Miss Melissa can be found taking care of our babies in the infant room during drop off and lunch times. 

Miss Michelle, Teacher -

Miss Michelle has joined the Goddard team to work alongside the Preschool through Kindergarten teachers in a variety of capacities. She comes to The Goddard School with an Associate degree from Gateway Community College and just received her Bachelor’s degree in Child Studies from Charter Oak State College.
