The Goddard School in Newark will be soaring during the month of May as we go "High in the Sky!" Some classes will study weather and its different forms with "Wacky Weather." Other classes will work on the concept of "air" and how it helps keep planes in the sky and hot air balloons flying as we go "Up, Up and Away." The children will also have the opportunity to focus on things "out of this world" as we visit outer space and learn about planets, stars and constellations when we "Reach for the Stars!"
Teachers will also focus on strengthening the skills the children have developed during the school year. In early June, parents will have the opportunity to have another conference with their child's teacher. We encourage all parents to take advantage of this opportunity.
On Friday, May 11th from 11:30 am to 1 pm, we will have a special Mother's Day Luncheon to celebrate those special women in the lives of the Goddard School students. Mothers, Grandmothers or other special women can enjoy their special lunch while their children bring a lunch from home or order pizza. There will be sign-up sheets in each classroom where each family can let us know how many guests to expect!
During the week of May 7th, we will be celebrating National Education Week. We hope that you will join Krista and Cindy in honoring our talented and dedicated educators, both professional and para-professional, who teach and nurture your children every day. There will be surprises all week long for the talented Goddard staff!
The Survivor: Summer will be starting in a few weeks. We will be offering both a special morning academic preparation program for Kindergarten to early elementary grades as well as summer camp programming for younger children. There will be exciting adventures and learning for all ages this summer! Currently there are still opportunities for new families to join the fun. Do not delay-register today!
