Infants: The teachers in our Infant room have a combined ten years of experience working for The Goddard School. These ladies have a wealth of knowledge about infant care and truly take the time to give each child the personal attention they need to thrive. Both lead teachers in the infant rooms have a BA degree and our assistant teachers have a tremendous amount of experience in the childcare field as well as caring for their own children and grandchildren.
Pre-Toddlers: Our Pre-Toddler teachers have over nine years' experience working at The Goddard School. Working with this age group requires a lot of energy, which both of the teachers have. They encourage each child's eager investigation of their world around them by providing days filled with a balance of quiet activities, plenty of child-directed activities and lots of outdoor running and climbing. Our lead Pre-Toddler teacher has a BS in psychology from VCU and a CDA certificate from John-Tyler Community College. Our assistant teacher has been here since 2002 and enjoys spending time with her grandchildren.
Toddlers: Toddlers make great developmental strides- from first steps to potty training. At The Goddard School located in Walton Park, we have two separate two-year-old rooms, a younger group and an older group. This allows the teachers to encourage developmentally appropriate activities that help each child grow and mature in the best way possible. Our Toddler teachers have a combined 20 years of experience working at The Goddard School. One of the lead teachers holds a BS in Early Childhood and the other lead teacher holds a CDA certificate.
Preschool: Both of our lead Preschool teachers hold a BS degree in Education. All the teachers have a combined eight years of experience working in childcare. In these classrooms, our wonderful teachers lead engaging activities which encourage curiosity. Learning Centers for math, science, imaginary play, music, creative art, and computers provide both shared and independent learning opportunities in our large and bright classrooms.
Pre-K: Our teachers in the Pre-Kindergarten rooms have over 40 years of combined childcare experience! One of the lead teachers holds a BA in Psychology with a concentration in Early Childhood, while the other lead teacher holds a BS in Elementary Education. These ladies have a wealth of knowledge in Kindergarten preparedness and adapt their lessons based on each child's developmental progress. Kindergarten preparedness includes becoming comfortable with computers, developing complex logical patterns and handwriting practice. Each school day is balanced with opportunities for independent discovery, cooperative learning and generous outdoor playtime.
Before and After School: Our teachers in the Clubhouse bring a combined 25 years of experience working in child care. Two of the teachers are working towards degrees in Education. Teachers offer a variety of activities to engage the children in teacher-directed arts and crafts, homework assistance, computers, and plenty of outdoor play.
