Faculty Bios

Marlboro I, NJ

Lauren Baldwin - Owner - Since December 2010, Ms. Lauren has been the proud on-site owner of The Goddard School located in Marlboro, New Jersey!  She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Family and Child Services/Child Development from Montclair State University.  Ms. Lauren has been part of the Goddard School family since May 2001. During her career with The Goddard School, she has held every position a Goddard School has to offer, including Assistant Teacher, Lead Teacher, Assistant Director and most recently, Education Director (five years).  Ms. Lauren (along with her Directors) brings a strong educational background and many years of experience working with children ages newborn to six.  Since Ms. Lauren, and her Directors as well, started off as Goddard School teachers they have a first-hand understanding of how the Goddard School program is to be operated and how to effectively support their teaching faculty. Ms. Lauren is also a proud Goddard parent to two young boys and looks forward to welcoming you into the School Road Goddard family!

January Gomolka - Director - Ms. January began working with children in high school, as a student preschool teacher. Over the years, she has worked in a variety of children’s programs, including Program Assistant for six years at the Fort Monmouth Youth and School Age Services, and as a Site Supervisor at the Laura Donovan Elementary School for the YMCA After-Care program. Ms. January's credentials include an Associate's degree in Elementary Education from Brookdale Community College, a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Rutgers University, and a Group Teacher certificate. Ms. January has worked at our Goddard School since the first day it opened in August 2004, serving as the Lead Teacher in the Get Set and Pre-School Classrooms. Ms. January is eager to continue to grow and learn with the children and is also a proud Goddard School parent (she has twin girls and a baby on the way)!

Miss Jessica F - Assistant Director & Co-Lead Teacher - Infant Room Miss Jessica is our Assistant Director and Co-Lead Teacher of the Infant Room.  She began working here in 2007.  During her career with our Goddard School, she has been Lead Teacher of the Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, and Infant classrooms.  Jessica has a BA degree from Kean University in Early Childhood Education, with a certification to teach Pre-K through 5th grade.  She is currently attending Montclair State University to further her education.  Miss Jessica is also a proud Goddard parent!

Miss Betty - Lead Teacher: Infants - Miss Betty is a Registered Nurse and worked in Pediatrics for many years.  After staying home to raise her six children, she returned to the work place and has been at our School since the day it opened in August 2004. Ms. Betty was a teacher in our Preschool and Kindergarten classrooms prior to being in our Infant room, where she has been a teacher since 2008. It is a true pleasure for Ms. Betty to be able to teach, take care of, help develop and interact with the infants here at our school. Ms. Betty is also a mom to six children.

Miss Stephanie - Lead Teacher: First Steps - Miss Stephanie has been at our school since September 2010.  She studied Elementary Education at the University of Nebraska. While attending college, she spent one semester and three summers working at Walt Disney World, where she made children smile every day. After college, Miss Stephanie spent five years working as a nanny for three families. Children are her passion and she looks forward to caring for and nurturing yours.  Miss Stephanie is a proud Goddard parent as well. 

Miss Jessica B. - Lead Teacher: Young Toddlers - Miss Jessica graduated from Monmouth University in 2009 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary and Special Education, Preschool through Grade 3.  She has been a teacher at our school since November 2010.  Miss Jessica knew at a very young age that she wanted to become a teacher.  Hearing children’s voices, watching them play and seeing them learn new things each day brings such joy into her life. Miss Jessica has been babysitting for the last 8 years and also worked in a preschool previously.  Additionally, she has experience substitute teaching in elementary school in both general and special education classrooms.

Miss Jackie - Lead Teacher: Toddlers - Miss Jackie worked for many years in the New York City school system, teaching both regular and Special Education classes. Additionally, she worked for the Marlboro Township Board of Education and other preschools in the area. Miss Jackie has been at our school since October 2006 and she looks forward to exciting and fun times with her friends at The Goddard School.

Miss Sehar - Lead Teacher: Get Set - Miss Sehar holds a Bachelor’s degree in English, with a Minor in Education. She is currently attending Middlesex County College where she is taking courses in Early Childhood Education and Development.  Miss Sehar loves working with children and has experience working as an assistant teacher with special needs children. Her goal is to use her diversified experiences to be a great teacher and help the Get Set students develop educationally and socially in a daily, fun-filled environment. She is very proud to be a staff member of our Goddard Team and has been a teacher at our school since September 2010.

Ms. Carla - Lead Teacher: Preschool - Ms. Carla has been a member of our faculty since November 2008. Ms. Carla was a homemaker until her children were in first grade. Raising her children made her realize how much she enjoyed being a mom. Once her children were in school full time, she decided to find a job as fulfilling as being a mom. She has found it here at The Goddard School!  Working here has been so rewarding and she has been able to use all of her experience as a mom in the classroom. She is currently pursuing her CDA (Child Development Associates Degree) as lead teacher of the Terrific Toucans Preschool class and looks forward to helping your children learn and grow.

Miss Kristine - Lead Teacher - Pre-Kindergarten room Miss Kristine began teaching at our school in 2010, as our Assistant Teacher in Pre-Kindergarten.  She graduated with High Honors from Montclair State University with a BA Degree in Family and Child Studies and Elementary Education, with a New Jersey State Teacher Certification, K through 5.  In September of 2010, she spent a month in Tanzania, Africa where she volunteered to work with the children of Kichijo Orphanage.  During her time there, she taught English and Math and looked after children of various ages.

Miss Pam - Lead Teacher: Kindergarten room Miss Pam graduated from the College of New Jersey and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education and History, as well as a Master's degree in Teaching. Miss Pam is certified in the State of New Jersey to teach children in Kindergarten to Fifth Grade and Special Education. She has been at our school since August 2009 and loves working with children. Over the past seven years, she worked in a variety of after-school and summer programs for Howell Township. Miss Pam is excited to be the Lead Teacher in the Pre-Kindergarten classroom and looks forward to working with your children and helping them grow and prepare for Kindergarten.
