MaryBeth Theiss - MaryBeth is the on-site owner of The Goddard School located in Macomb. MaryBeth has lived in the area for over forty years. She and her husband, Michael, are the parents of two young children and recognize the importance of a safe and nuturing learning environment. In fact, their daughters attended a Goddard School and MaryBeth enjoyed being a Goddard Mom so much that she and her husband wanted to a be a part of offering the same positive experience to other families. "I am excited and proud to be a part of Goddard and I am committed to providing the highest quality preschool experience for the children in our neighborhood," said MaryBeth.
Katie Dumas - Katie is our Director of Education. She has been in the Early Childhood field since 1999. She has experience as a Assistant Teacher, Lead Teacher, Assistant Director as well as a Director. Katie holds a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education from Central Michigan University. Katie has a background in special education and emotional impairment.
Darling Dolphins (Infant Room) - Mrs. Lacey is the Lead Teacher in the Infant room. She has an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education. Lacey brings a wealth of experience. She has worked as an Infant, Lead- Teacher in two other Goddard Schools out of state. We are so happy to have a Goddard Alumni join our family.
Darling Dolphins (Infant Room) - Ms. Tiffany is an Aide in the Infant room. Ms. Tiffany is a mother of one, she has a degree in massage therapy and she has wonderful energy and sunny disposition. Ms Tiffany is our resident Yoga expert. All the children love Ms Tiffany!
Silly Seahorses (First Steps) - Miss Cassie is the Lead Teacher in the First Steps classroom. Cassie has been a Lead Teacher for two years at a Goddard School in Delaware. She also has six years experience as the Lead Teacher for school-age children. Miss Cassie has a degree in Early Childhood Education.
Silly Seahorses (First Steps) - Miss Francesca is a Co-Lead First Steps room. Francesca has a Master's Degree in Social Work from University of Michigan and an Undergraduate Degree from Northern Michigan. Her experience and education add a depth to our program not typically found in preschool programs.
Toddling Turtles (Toddler Room) - Ms. Karen is the Lead Teacher in the Toddlin' Turtles classroom for toddlers. She has an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education from Macomb Community Collage and has been working in the Early Childhood field since 1998. Karen is a mother of two. Her experience and maturity add a wonderful depth to our program!
Toddling Turtles(Toddler Room) - Ms. Sarah is the Assistant Teacher in the Toddling Turtles class. She has an Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education from Macomb Community College. She has been working in this field since 2006. Sarah enjoys working with children this age because of their boundless curiosity of the world around them.
Toddlin Turtles (Toddler Room) - Miss Alayna is the Assistant Teacher in the Smiling Starfish class. Alayna is working on her Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education. She has a warm, loving and nurturing personality that our toddlers just adore.
Smiling Starfish (Get Set Room) - Ms.Becky is the Lead Teacher in our Get Set room. She has worked in the Early Childhood field since 2005. She holds a Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. Becky says, "I love working with young children. They are so eager to learn."
Outstanding Octopus (Young Three Preschool) - Ms. Katie is our Lead Teacher in the Young three year old program. She holds a Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Education from Central Michigan University. She has been working with children since 2009.
Outstanding Octopus (Young Three Preschool) - Ms. Erica is the Assistant Teacher in the Outstanding Octopus Room. Erica is currently working on her degree in Early Childhood Education. She has a wonderful disposition and has developed many warm relationships with our families.
Creative Crabs (Preschool Room) - Ms. Darcy is the Lead Teacher in the Creative Crabs classroom. Darcy has a degree in Early Childhood Education. She has been in the early childhood education field since 2006. She has worked with infants, toddlers and preschoolers. Darcy says, "I love working with children because they teach me things everyday."
Creative Crabs (Preschool Room) - - Ms. Ashley is the Assistant Teacher in the Outstanding Octopus classroom. Ashley is completing her Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education from Macomb Community College. Ashley has been teaching children since 2010.
Wonderful Whales (Pre-Kindergarten) - Ms. Trisha is the Co-Lead Teacher in our Pre- Kindergarten program. Trisha is a graduate of Macomb Community College with a Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education.
Wonderful Whales (Pre-Kindergarten) - Ms. Sara is the Co-Lead Teacher in the Pre-Kindergarten class. She is a recent graduate of the University of Michigan with a degree in Elementary Education. She has an endorsement in Language Arts. Ms. Sara has spent several summers working at a camp for children in New Hampshire.
Wonderful Whales (Pre-Kindergarten) - Ms. MaryBeth is an Assistant Teacher in the Wonderful Whale classroom. She has a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from Central Michigan University and has been working with children since 2001. She is currently attending Oakland University to complete her Masters Degree in Psychology.
Lovable Lobsters (Kindergarten) - Ms. Stephanie is our Kindergarten teacher. Stephanie is a graduate of Central Michigan University with minor in Early Childhood Education and major Elementary Education. Stephanie philosophy is small class size and individual attention at this critical stage of education is key in developing a love for learning.
Adriana P. - Ms. Adriana is our Spanish teacher. She spends an hour a week with each of the classes. She is a native of Uruaguay. She teaches the children more than just the language; she teaches the culture too. She sings songs, reads books and teaches the children new words each week. Look for the newest lesson on her Spanish board.
