Mr. Chris - Owner - He graduated from Bowling Green State University in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He specialized in finance. Upon graduating he obtained his first professional job working as a mutual fund Accountant. Chris continued his education while working and received a Master's degree in Business Administration from Capital University. Chris is now thrilled to be a part of The Goddard School® family as an owner and operator in Macedonia. He enjoys each and every child and is glad to be able to provide them with a safe and nurturing environment.
Miss Laura - Director - Miss Laura earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Youngstown State University. She taught public school for three years and was the museum Educator at the Children's Museum of the Valley in Youngstown, Ohio. Prior to coming to The Goddard School located in Macedonia, Laura worked for a Goddard School located in Mason, Ohio, for two years as a Pre-K Teacher. Goddard School Tenure: 4 years
Miss Janet - Lovely Lambs - Infants - Janet graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Kent State University. Prior to joining The Goddard School in October of 2009, she was the Assistant Director for Huntington Learning Center in Broadview Heights for three years. Janet also serves as the afternoon Assistant Director at The Goddard School. She is very happy to be a part of the Goddard faculty and loves working with all of the babies. Miss Ruth - Lovely Lambs - Infants - Ruth attended Pennsylvania State University concentrating in Mathematics with a minor in Education. She was an active member on the board where all of her children attended preschool, later becoming an Assistant Teacher for five years. Ruth has also been an active volunteer of the Nordonia Schools PTSA as well as in other volunteer activities, such as Class Mom, classroom helper, field trip helper and party planner. Ruth joined The Goddard School in August of 2008. Goddard School Tenure: 3 years
Miss Jessica - Lovely Lambs - Infants - Miss Jessica graduated from the University of Akron with a Bachelor's degree in Speech Pathology and a Master's degree in Early Childhood Intervention Specialist. She started with The Goddard School located in Macedonia in August of 2010. Prior to working at the Macedonia location she worked at The Goddard School located in Broadview Heights for one year. She is certified to work with children from newborn to eight years old. She is pleased to be a part of The Goddard School. Goddard School Tenure: 2 years
Miss Laura - Busy Bees - Toddlers - Laura attended The University of Akron and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance Education. Laura has worked with children of all ages from the time she was in high school. Laura started at The Goddard School in January of 2008. Goddard School Tenure: 4 years
Miss KarenAnn - Charming Chicklings - Preschool - She was the winner of the distinguished "Goddard Teacher of the Year" award in 2010. She is a graduate of Cuyahoga Community College. While attending Tri C West, she met her husband and they have raised four children. Before joining The Goddard School located in Macedonia in June of 2007, she worked for the City of Breckville Childcare Center. Goddard School Tenure: 4 years
Miss Cortney - Playful Puppies - Preschool - Cortney was born in Warren and raised in Cortland, Ohio. She earned her Bachelor's degree as an Intervention Specialist from Kent State University. Cortney thrives on dreaming big and has huge ambitions of opening her own auditory/oral school for the deaf in Northeast Ohio. She has worked with preschool aged children for numerous years and enjoys collaborating with other professionals as well as parents. Cortney watches the growth of the children as they play meaningfully in her classroom. Cortney started working for The Goddard School in July of 2007. Goddard School Tenure: 4 years
Miss Melissa - Rockin' Robins - Pre-K - Melissa is a graduate of The University of Akron. She obtained her Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. After graduating, Melissa taught preschool for one year followed by two and a half years as a substitute teacher with the Nordonia Hills School District. Melissa joined The Goddard School in February of 2011. Melissa is excited to be working with preschool age children again. Goddard School Tenure: 9 months
Mr. Mike - Prancing Ponies - Pre-K - Michael graduated from Washington and Jefferson College with a Bachelor's degree in English and Child Psychology. Since graduating, he has worked with children in a variety of fields. Mike was the Co-Director at My Gym Children's Fitness Center in Westlake, Ohio, and then a Kid's Club Manager in Phoenix, Arizona. Mike is also a volunteer for Special Olympics and other youth camps. Mike joined The Goddard School in April of 2010. Goddard School Tenure: 1+ year
Miss Stephanie - Floater - Miss Stephanie was born and raised in Macedonia, Ohio. She currently attends Kent State University and is pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education with an anticipated graduation year of 2011. She loves working with kids of all ages, but especially loves the toddler age! Stephanie joined The Goddard School in August of 2008. Goddard School Tenure: 3 years
Miss Valerie - Floater - Valerie currently has an Associate of Arts degree from Tri-C. She will be going to Kent State University in the fall to obtain a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. Previous to joining The Goddard School located in Macedonia in July of 2010, she worked at The Goddard School located in Broadview Heights for four years. She also is currently teaching third grade religion at her church. Goddard School Tenure: 5 years
Miss Caitrin - Playful Puppies - Preschool - Miss Caitrin joined The Goddard School in February of 2010. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from Kent State University. Previous to graduating, she completed her student teaching in Australia. She loves teaching young children and has plans to continue her education in the near future by obtaining a post graduate degree in Special Education. She is always excited and enthusiastic while watching relationships grow between parents and children. She also enjoys learning from the children in her class as well! Goddard School Tenure: 6 months
Mr. John - Rockin' Robins - Pre-K John graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University. He has several years of experience working with preschool and pre-k children, including two years of previous work experience at a different Goddard School location. John joined The Goddard School located in Macedonia in March of 2011. He truly enjoys working with children and watching them grow. Goddard School Tenure: 8 months
Miss Joyce - Busy Bees - Toddlers Miss Joyce earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA. She has worked with handicapped students in an area school system for three years. Miss Joyce has served for twelve years as the Director of Children's Ministry for a local church. She won a lifetime achievement award from the Ohio PTA in 2010, for her volunteer and fundraising efforts.
Miss Autumn - Darling Ducklings - First Steps Miss Autumn is a graduate of Euclid High School. Over the years, she has been a nanny as well as cared for children in a number of different capacities. She has previously worked with children from infant to eighteen years of age. She has been a youth leader at her church for a few years and absolutely loves it! She has plans to start attending college classes next fall to earn a degree in Early Childhood Education.
Miss Alison - Bouncing Bunnies - Toddlers Miss Alison graduated from Ohio State University. She has worked with children in a variety of settings. While living in Columbus, she worked at My Gym Children's Fitness Center for three years. She also has a year of experience working with autistic children as an ABA therapist. Alison enjoys working with children and helping them grow to the best of their potential.
Miss Sheri - Floater Miss Sheri earned a Bachelor's degree in Education Studies, with a minor in Geography from Kent State University. She is currently attending The University of Akron for an Associate's degree in Early Childhood Development. Miss Sheri has worked as a substitute teacher in the Akron Public Schools and worked with the Summit County Metro Parks. She has also done various volunteer activities working with children.
Miss Alicia - Darling Ducklings - First Steps Miss Alicia graduated from Kent State University with a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. She spent many hours student teaching throughout her college career, with one of those years specifically with toddlers. She was also the lead teacher for one year in a toddler room at a YWCA Early Childhood Center. Miss Alicia loves children and teaching and is excited to be part of The Goddard School.
Miss Jaclyn - Bouncing Bunnies - Toddlers Miss Jackie graduated from Baldwin-Wallace College with a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education. Jackie has previous work experience as a substitute teacher and nanny for children of many ages. Miss Jackie has also been a volunteer soccer and basketball coach for instructional levels through middle school. She really enjoys working with children and watching them grow to their own potential. She is excited to be a part of The Goddard School.
