Special Enrichment opportunities at The Goddard School® located in King of Prussia!
(These programs are included in your basic tuition)
SPANISH CLASS:
The children are encouraged to learn Spanish through games, songs and activities in their classrooms. In addition, we have two staff members who are fluent in Spanish and speak with the children to reinforce the words they are learning. Once a week there is a special Spanish class to engage the children in speaking skills.
TIME TO SIGN:
The children learn American Sign Language. Beginning with the Infant class, the children learn to communicate in sign language through the use of songs, games, stories and active play.
MUSIC CLASS:
In addition to daily music activities in the classrooms, we offer a weekly music class. Miss Jill sings songs, plays games and encourages the children's interest in music.
BUILDING LANGUAGE THROUGH LITERACY:
This language program developed by Scholastic is geared for literacy development in the early childhood years. The program uses fun loving characters to focus on the fundamentals of literacy. Children gain critical language and literacy skills to build a foundation for success in reading.
HANDWRITING WITHOUT TEARS:
This beginning handwriting program is used in our Pre-K and Kindergarten classes. This program is widely used in many school districts and is thought to be the most successful way to teach handwriting to young children.
EVERYDAY MATH:
Everyday Math is a wonderful hands-on learning program. Again, this is used in our Pre-K and Kindergarten classrooms. This program has achieved tremendous success in both public and private schools across the country. Kids learn through games, activities and manipulatives.
YOGA SCHOOL:
This cross curricular activity helps young children develop focus, balance, creativity, flexibility, body awareness and body control.
FACE TIME PERFORMING ARTS:
A highly interactive class combining movement games, dramatic art exercises, skit practice and music to develop performance fundamentals. The program is designed to enhance social skills and nourish an early appreciation of the arts.
TSS SPORTS PROGRAM:
This sports program combines soccer with other basic sports skills. Children are developing hand-eye coordination, strength and teamwork.
