LANGUAGE ARTS
The Building Language for Literacy™ program will establish a strong foundation for reading by focusing on the fundamentals of literacy, including letter recognition, phonological awareness, oral language and print concepts. Using books, puppets, music and poetry, the language-loving characters will help shape the children’s success in reading.
FITNESS
B.A.S.E. for Fitness (Balance, Agility, Strength, Endurance) is specifically designed for preschool children to promote active lifestyles. The fitness activities focus on the development of motor skills, movement knowledge, enhancing coordination, physical activity engagement and development of social and personal skills at an early age. Our teachers expose children to the skills necessary to support their active lives, to develop positive self-esteem and to set the foundation for a healthy lifestyle. This quality movement program will positively impact children’s health as well as strengthen their social skills, listening skills and cooperation.
FOREIGN LANGUAGE
The Explorer program introduces children to the Spanish language and culture. There are many benefits for children to learn a foreign language at a young age. Research has concluded that learning a foreign language enhances academic achievement in reading, math and social studies. Learning a second language has also been found to increase the learner's understanding of the English language and give them an appreciation for other languages and cultures.
SIGN LANGUAGE
Time to Sign, Inc® introduces children to American Sign Language. There are several benefits to teaching young children sign language. Using sign language with hearing children helps them see, feel, spell, acquire, understand, speak, read and communicate with words. It has also been shown to reduce conflict, facilitate an understanding of human emotions and increase children’s confidence and self-esteem.
MANNERS
The Goddard Guide to Getting Along™ program encourages friendship, cooperation, compassion and kindness. The program also has a Stranger Danger component, which will teach the children to distinguish between situations in which personal safety is more important than using good manners.
