Penelope H. Penelope brings with her a wealth of experience and energy as our Director of Education. She has over seventeen years of experience in early childhood education with increasing responsibility, from Lead Teacher to Regional Director overseeing multiple locations. Many of her early students are now doing exceptionally well in the most demanding high schools and colleges. One thing she learns from her students is patience, patience and when all else fails, more patience! With a husband and five children, she certainly can apply that lesson. She is now teaching her children the most important thing she learned from her Mom: the combination of hard work and a positive attitude will take you far. Penelope attended University of New Hamshire in Early Childhood Education.
Dawn P. Dawn is a graduate of Casco Bay College in Portland, ME. She also holds a CDA credential. Dawn has over 20 years' experience as an early childhood educator in various positions from lead teacher to director/owner. Dawn believes teaching is the most important job in the world. She selected The Goddard School to work at because "they have the highest standards and stick to them." Dawn is currently attending Rio Salado College pursuing a degree in ECE.
Myrna L. - Myrna has worked in New York and Arizona in the Early Childhood Development field for more than 20 years. She has extensive experience in teaching reading and math to children in the 3-5 age groups. She believes children's ability to learn is amazing and will reach the standard the parents set for the children and their teachers. She is a mother of six lovely children. She is teaching her children what she learned from her mom, "Always do your best at what you do in life." Myrna earns an AA degree with emphasis in Education from Empire State College in New York.
Sara P. -
Sara is enrolled at Chandler Gilbert College, pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Development. She enjoys working with special needs children. Her favorite children’s book is Eric Carle’s “Have You Seen My Cat?” Sara loves to see the difference we make reflected in the children’s growth in her class every day.
Rebecca M. - Rebecca has been taking care of children since she got her first babysitting job at ten years old. Later in life, she continued to develop a love for children and worked in the Early Childhood Development field for seven years as a teacher and assistant teacher. She thinks it is just amazing to see how much information a child can take in. The knowledge that you have made an impression on a child is very rewarding to Rebecca. She is working on her AAEE degree at Mesa Community College. Rebecca also does a lot of volunteer work in the community and is an avid fan of the Boston Celtics.
Season S. -
Season has been the one-year-old teacher at The Goddard School since 2006. She attended KPC College in Alaska and owned a music studio. Season has extensive experience in teaching music and instructed children with disabilities for the last 13 years. Season believes each day will bring new fun, new excitement and new experiences to enrich everyone’s life. Her positive attitude translates into so much energy in the classroom.
Shelane J. - Shelane earned an AA degree with emphasis is Early Childhood Development and has extensive experience working with children with disabilities. She discovered very early on that one thing she learned from her mom, "Don't Be Late," is absolutely true. Her favorite children's song is "Bubble Gum."
Camille P. Camille has extensive experience with over 15 years in Preschool & Special Ed. environments. She still remembers her dad teaching her how to print ABCs over and over in the family's kitchen. Now she is bringing that passion to her job whenever she is holding a child's hand tracing the ABCs. Her favorite children's book is still "The Living Tree" by Shel Silverstein. Camille holds a Para Pro Certificate.
Brittany C. Ms. Brittany has over 7 years of experience teaching the 3 - 5 age groups. She finds working with children rewarding and inspiring. She feels happy when around the children and when she takes care of them. Attending Rio Salado College, Brittany is getting her degree in Elementary Education. She admits to still humming to the song "Grey Squirrel" in the car on her way to work every day. She is an avid reader and spends most of her spare time reading. Her favorite children's book is Polar Express.
Maria V. Ms. Maria loves the smiles from the children when she teaches them something new. With each smile, she knows she has made a little difference in their lives. Attending Chandler Gilbert College, Maria is getting a degree in Early Childhood Education. She still remembers one thing she learns from her mom: To have faith and to love life to your fullest. When it comes to sport, Maria roots for the Arizona Cardinals.
