As a parent of two young children, I recognize the importance of providing a quality preschool program in a safe, nurturing, and loving environment. I have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Economics and a Master's degree in Education. I have taught infants, toddlers, and preschoolers for several years. As an educator, I can appreciate how Goddard's curriculum develops the whole child, and builds a great foundation that fosters a love of learning. As a mom, I am reminded everyday how precious our little ones are, and that they deserve the very best, each and every day. I look forward to meeting new families, and providing our children with a positive and enriching preschool experience.
Carla Hawley Wahdan - Owner Welcome to The Goddard School! As part of the ownership team, my husband and I are happy and proud that our dream is coming true. Living in the triangle for my entire life, I have seen tremendous growth in this area and feel privileged to be able to provide a preschool experience that is educational and nurturing at the same time. My background in business management started this wonderful journey for me. During my first pregnancy, I turned my focus to early childhood education, in hopes of providing a quality preschool experience for my own child and others. I spent four years as an infant and toddler teacher after completing several courses and receiving my North Carolina credentials. I enjoyed my years in the classroom, but look forward to the new challenges that lie ahead. As part owner, and a parent of three children who attend this school, I have an open door for parents and teachers. My goal is to make these early educational experiences for the children of this school positive and nurturing in every way so they develop a strong foundation that starts them on a journey of knowledge in the best possible way.
Ashley - Director Ashley is happy to be a part of the faculty at The Goddard School located in Fuquay-Varina. She has worked at Goddard since November of 2008 when the school opened. Ashley enjoys getting to know the teachers and children. She has currently just received her Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education. Ashley looks forward to spending time with your child and teaching them something new.
Brittany G.- Pre-K Teacher Brittany is one of the Pre-K teachers here at The Goddard School. She has been working in childcare for almost 4 years. She has her Credentials in Early Childhood and is currently working towards her degree. Brittany is happy to be a part of the Goddard Family!
Stephanie - Preschool Teacher Stephanie has fifteen years of experience in educational childcare and two years as a Director. She has earned her North Carolina Early Childhood credentials and has worked with all age groups of children from birth to twelve-years-old. She is excited to be a part of The Goddard School located in Fuquay-Varina and to return to the classroom with the children!
Jessica - Preschool Teacher Jessica is currently a Floater at The Goddard School located in Fuquay-Varina and enjoys it very much! She likes spending time in the classrooms and teaching children that the world is full of fun and exciting things!
Barbara - Preschool Teacher Barbara graduated with a degree in General Studies and has her NCECC and 12 additional hours of Early Childhood classes. She has 12 years of experience working with young children. She loves the fact that every day is different when working with young children and she get to help children experience the joys of learning every day.
Ms. Jaime - Preschool Teacher Jaime is one of the preschool teachers at the Goddard School in Fuquay-Varina. She has an associate's degree and 20 years of experience teaching children. She enjoys teaching young children because it brings such a joy to her heart when a child has mastered a skill that she has taught them.
Mary - Get Set Teacher Mary is happy to be a part of the family at The Goddard School located in Fuquay-Varina. She's excited to work with the little ones, as the younger age groups are her favorite! Mary has a Bachelor of Science degree in Child Development from Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo. Mary learned at an early age that she wanted to work with children. She has work experience as at eacher at a preschool, lifeguard and swim instructor, school-age recreation leader as well as an instructor at Gymboree where she taught Art Fitness and Sign Language to babies.
Amy - Get Set Teacher Amy is a Teacher in our Older Two Year Old classroom. She has earned her Early Childhood Education certificate and 40 hours of additional coursework toward an Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education. She enjoys teaching young children because she gets to help them grow and learn new things.
Brooke - Toddler Teacher Brooke helps teach the children in our Pre-K class at The Goddard School located in Fuquay-Varina. She had nine years of experience teaching children and has her Early Childhood certificate. Brooke enjoys teaching children because they are so full of life! She likes knowing that she has played a small part in their lives by teaching them something that they will take with them as they get older!
Hope - Toddler Teacher Hope is one of our Toddler teachers. She has a diploma in Early Childhood Education and 12 years of experience with teaching young children. Hope really enjoys teaching young children because she likes watching them grow and enhance their growth by everyday learning from the teacher.
Ms. Stephanie - Young Toddler Teacher Ms. Stephanie is a teacher in our Wobbler room and loves it! She has seven years of experience teaching children and likes to teach children because of the wonderful feeling you get when a child has learned something for the first time. Stephanie has a degree in the liberal arts and is working toward obtaining her associate's degree in early childhood education.
Ms. Kindal - Young Toddler Teacher Kindal is a teacher in the Wobbler class at The Goddard School located in Fuquay-Varina. She has four years of experience teaching children and has her early childhood certificate. Kindal likes to teach children because its warms her heart to see a child practicing what they have learned. She knows she has had a positive impact on their life.
Brittany E.- Wobbler Teacher Brittany E. is one of the teachers in the Wobbler Class. She has her Credentials in Early Childhood and has credits towards her Early Childhood Degree. She has 4 years of experience in working with children. She loves to teach young children and watch them learn and grow.
Ms. Heather - Infant Teacher
Ms. Heather is the teacher in our Younger Toddler classroom. She has earned her NCECC and early childhood associate's certificate as well as having over 15 years experience teaching children. Heather loves teaching because every day is different! She thinks helping children reach their developmental goals is very rewarding!
Stacy - Infant Teacher Stacey has 15 years of experience working with children and graduated with a degree in Human Services/ Child Development. She is the Teacher in the Infant room at The Goddard School located in Fuquay-Varina. She loves providing a safe and secure environment for children to grow and learn.
Michelle - Michelle is excited to be a part of the family at The Goddard School located in Fuquay-Varina! She teaches the children in the Young Two Year Old classroom. Michelle has nine years of experience teaching children and has earned her certificate in Early Childhood Education. In her free time, she enjoys reading, sewing and creating scrapbooks! Michelle looks forward to watching your child grow, learn and explore things around them every day!
Etta - Etta is excited to be a member of the faculty at The Goddard School located in Fuquay-Varina! She have worked in a preschool setting for nearly four years and loves it. Etta has three children and six grandchildren. Three of her grandchildren attend Goddard which allows her to see them each and every day! She thoroughly enjoys caring for your children as they grow and blossom!
Helen - Helen is excited to work with family at The Goddard School located in Fuquay-Varina. She feels it is a joy to experience the milestones that children reach as they learn and grow! Helen loves children. She has four children of her own and one grandson. Helen is originally from New Jersey, where she grew up. She looks forward to getting to know everyone!
Ms. Beverly Beverly helps teach the toddler classroom in the afternoons. She has many credits towards her associate's degree and she has eight years of experience teaching young children. She enjoys seeing children learn new concepts and working with them to excel in life! In her free time, she enjoys reading, horseback riding and sports.
