Faculty Bios

Fort Mill, SC

Amy and Bill - Owners - Amy and her husband, Bill, own The Goddard School® located in Fort Mill, SC. Amy has a B.S. in Education, taught school, transitioned into Adult Education and eventually taught at a Director level in several corporate settings. Bill earned his BS degree from Oglethorp University and his MBA from Emory University in Atlanta. He spent 20 years as a consultant in financial services firms. They have three wonderful daughters in the Fort Mill school system. Amy and Bill's children have lived in Atlanta, Singapore and lots of places in between, but they are most happy to call Fort Mill "home."

Ms. Susan - Education Director - Susan joined us in December 2008. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from the University of Central Florida. Before joining The Goddard School® located in Fort Mill, she taught preschool for six years. Her favorite thing about teaching preschool is the natural curiosity and enthusiasm for learning each student has. In Susan's classroom, students will have the opportunity to build their self confidence through practice. They will be guided and encouraged to draw conclusions, problem solve and take risks as they prepare for the transition to Kindergarten.

Ms Lisa - Operations Director - Lisa joined us in January 2009. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of South Carolina, Upstate in 1992. She's been a stay-at-home mom and a working mom since completing college, but she never strayed from childcare. Lisa has worked as both teacher and director and is happy to have settled here at The Goddard School.

Ms. Melanie - Melanie joined us in December 2008. She is excited to be a teacher for The Goddard School®. She has always wanted a career working with children. She is currently attending Winthrop University and is working to obtain her degree in Early Childhood Education. In December 2008, Melanie received her Associate of Arts degree from York Technical College. She looks forward to meeting and working with your child.

Ms. Jamie - Jamie joined us in March 2009. After graduating from high school, Jamie furthered her education at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Family Consumer Sciences with a concentration in Early Intervention. Jamie has worked with children for three years and she enjoys every minute of it! It makes her happy to teach children and watch them grow. She looks forward to having a positive impact on your child.

Ms. Jennifer - Jennifer joined us in August 2009. She has always loved teaching and interacting with children. She graduated from Clemson University in 2006 with a degree in Elementary Education. She taught second grade in the Charleston area, but realized her passion was to teach younger children. Jennifer couldn't have found a better place to teach than The Goddard School®. She's so excited to have the opportunity to meet and interact with such wonderful children and parents. She knows that we are going to have a great time learning and growing together!

Ms. Sue - Sue joined us in April 2010. She is a teacher in our Infants room. She earned her Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education in her home state of Michigan. Most recently she’s been working in before-school and after-school programs, and is happy to put her degree to use here with the preschoolers. When she and her husband are not working, they enjoy spending time with their 3 adult children and 6 grandchildren. In her spare time, she enjoys reading and gardening.

Ms. Elana - Elana joined us in June 2010. She earned her B.A. degree in Art History with a minor in Math from Winthrop University. She had her first experience with childcare when she became a big sister and helped her family with her younger siblings. At The Goddard School, Elana spends mornings helping in various classrooms and afternoons with The Shrimps!

Ms. Georgina - Georgina joined us in March 2010. She has been involved in childcare for the last 12 years. Raising her own three children and working as a childcare provider convinced her to make this my profession. Georgina took classes at Middlesex Community College to earn CEUs toward an Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education. Georgina is in the Infants room.

Ms. Tonia - Tonia joined us in June 2010.  She earned her BA degree from Johnson C. Smith University in 1999. She views teaching in Early Childhood Education as having an extended family. Parents trust us with their most precious gift. Other than parents and close family members, we are a child's first teacher. It's a great responsibility to have an impact on a young child's life and Tonia is rewarded by this interaction every day!

Ms. Kim - Kim joined us in June 2010. She has a B.A. degree in Fine Arts with a focus on Art Education from Winthrop University. She looks forward to returning to Winthrop to complete her MAT program in Art Ed./Special Ed. She enjoys working at The Goddard School because we focus on learning through play and centering classroom activities on student needs, which Kim believes is the best way for children to learn.

Ms. Cynthia - Cynthia joined us in June 2010. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from Winthrop University in 1991. Before coming to The Goddard School, she taught preschool for several years at Calvary in Charlotte. When she’s not busy here, she enjoys spending time with her three school-age boys.

Ms. Jennifer - Jennifer joined us in August 2010. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from San Diego State. She has been married for nearly 20 years and has two wonderful children. In addition to raising her own children, Ms Jennifer has been involved in childcare for over 10 years. When she’s not working, she enjoys reading, shopping and traveling.

Ms. Michelle - Michelle joined us in November 2010. She earned her B.S. Degree in Education from The University of North Dakota. She was a military wife for many years. During those years, she traveled with her husband and worked in many new places, never straying from childcare, either working in a preschool classroom or as an administrator. She is thrilled to have finally “settled” in South Carolina. She has been married for 17 years, and she and her husband have a daughter and son. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and making jewelry.

Ms. Emily - Emily joined us in February 2009. She earned her BS degree from Meredith College. She taught Sunday school and directed children’s programs for 30 years! She spends her time at The Goddard School helping out with our youngest little ones in Infants and First Steps. When she’s not here, she enjoys hiking with her husband and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Ms. Lindsey Lindsey joined us in January 2010. She earned her BA degree in Human Development and Early Childhood from the University of New York at Oswego.  She believes in learn-through-play as a surefire way to promote a love of learning.   She learns from her own children day by day and looks forward to watching your children grow and develop here, too.

Ms. Shandy - Shandy joined us in February 2011. She earned her B.S. degree in Family and Consumer Sciences with a concentration in Early Childhood Education from Winthrop University. Prior to teaching at The Goddard School, she taught kindergarten and preschool.  She believes that children learn best through play and exploration!  In her spare time she reads, volunteers, goes to church and shops. 

Ms. Neekie - Neekie joined us in March 2011. She earned a BS degree in Early Childhood Education from The University of South Carolina in 2010. She joined The Goddard School after completing a long-term substitute teaching position with first graders in Columbia, SC. Ms. Neekie's goal is to have children come to school eager to learn! She enjoys spending time with children and teaching them during the most important learning stages of their lives.

Ms. Kelly - Kelly joined us in August 2011. She was born and raised in California.  She has lived in Fort Mill for 10 years, with her 2 daughters and  son.  She has worked in childcare for the last 13 years. Although she has worked with several different age groups, her heart is with the younger toddlers.  She is currently working toward a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education.

Ms. Brittany - Brittany joined us in September 2011. She was born in Florida, but grew up in Rock Hill, South Carolina.  She has several years of experience working with toddlers and three year olds.  She is currently working on her degree in Early Childhood Education.  She and her husband love The Carolina Gamecocks and playing co-ed softball. 

Ms. Debra - Debra joined us in October 2011. She earned a B.S. degree in Family and Community Services from Michigan State University.  She has been in childcare for nearly 20 years and has spent time in classrooms as well as at a director level. She believes that children learn best when they are given positive choices and having fun.

Ms. A. Reum - A. Reum joined us in October 2011. She is currently working on her degree in Elementary Education at Winthrop University.  Before coming to The Goddard School, she worked as a substitute teacher for The Rock Hill School District 3, assisting in classrooms from Preschool to third grade. She believes that teaching is one of the most important profession. Without teachers, there would be no doctors, engineers or other wonderful professionals.

Ms. Jody - Jody joined us in February 2011. She earned her Bachelor's degree with the double majors in Organizational Development and Early Childhood Education. She spent most of her career in a corporate setting with a focus in corporate training and employee growth, but had always loved working with children. Now that she teaches at The Goddard School, she plays an important role in the growth and development of little ones. 

Ms. Letta - Letta joined us January 2012. She earned her BA degree in Early Childhood Education/Family and Consumer Sciences from Winthrop University. In addition to her many years as a preschool teacher, she taught Home Arts at Castle Heights Middle School in Rock Hill and Early Childhood Education at Clover High School. In her free time, she enjoys cooking and reading.
