Faculty Bios

Fenton, MO

Samantha Metzler -

Samantha is our School’s Owner. She opened The Goddard School located in Fenton, MO in May 2000. Samantha attended Meramec College and Webster University and has an extensive background in Administration and Business Management. She is married and has two children, a son and a daughter. Samantha is an active member of the Fenton community and enjoys seeing Goddard graduates thrive in the education system.

Sandy Mossman -

Sandy is our School’s Director. She has worked at The Goddard School located in Fenton since June 2000 and has been the Director since January 2002. Sandy is very excited to say that she was recognized by Goddard Systems, Inc. as Director of the Year in 2005. She also served as a "Director Mentor" for new Goddard School Directors. Sandy graduated from Fontbonne College with a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. She is married and has three children, a son and two daughters. Sandy likes to keep the lines of communication open at all times so feel free to stop by and ask her any questions you have.

Kelly Nordman -

Kelly is our School’s Assistant Director. She joined The Goddard School located in Fenton in August 2001 as a Preschool Teacher and became Assistant Director in 2006. Kelly graduated from Southeast Missouri State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Child Development. She is married with two children. Kelly has always loved working with children and looks forward to helping answer any questions you may have. She wants to make sure that your child’s experience at The Goddard School is enriching and fulfilling.

Renee S. –

Renee has worked at The Goddard School since April 2001. Before coming to Goddard, she worked at other childcare centers and was also a nanny. Renee has been working with children since 1996. She graduated from Norte Dame High School and then attended Meramec College. Renee has earned 96 credit hours, many of which are in Early Childhood. She believes every child should have a positive environment to learn in and be allowed to learn at their own pace.

Sarah M. –

Sarah has been working at The Goddard School since August 2003. She has worked in childcare since 1999 with various age groups. Sarah is currently working on getting her Child Development Associate certificate. She enjoys observing and facilitating as children interact and learn through play. Sarah is married with a daughter of her own and looks forward to watching your child learn and grow as well.

Kayla A. –

Kayla has an Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education from Meramec College. She started her career working with children in 2004 as a nanny and in other childcare facilities. Kayla has been at The Goddard School since July 2009 and feels that teaching children should be fun and interesting for both the teacher and the children. She believes it is important to remember that young children learn through exploration and play, and Kayla wants to create plenty of opportunities for children to grow and develop.

Nicole E. - Nicole has been a part of the Goddard family for quite some time. She was our Little Angels Teacher from 2002-2007 and rejoined our teaching team in August 2010. Nicole feels that all children learn and grow in different stages and what's best for one child may not be best for another. She believes in giving children what they need for their developmental level and stage so they can be successful. In her time away from Goddard she operated a home-based preschool and taught 3rd grade in the Rockwood School District. Nicole has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, a Master of Arts degree in Teaching and two teaching certificates in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. She and her husband don’t have any children yet but would like to in the future. Nicole looks forward to working with your child.

Ms. Krystle Ms. Krystle started working at Goddard in February 2011 and has been working in childcare since 2007.  She is currently attending Jefferson College pursuing an Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education.   She believes that children learn best through play, exploring the world around them, and building knowledge freely.  Her favorite activity to do with children is painting because they can express themselves without any limitations.

Ms. Christina Ms. Christina has been with The Goddard School since 2006 and has a degree in Early Childhood Education from Jefferson College.  She has been working with children of all ages in various childcare settings since 1991.   Her philosophy on teaching is that children learn through play and hands-on experiences in everyday life.  Her interests include going to baseball games, taking pictures and spending time with her family.

Ms. Kerri Ms. Kerri has been with The Goddard School since July 200 and has an Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education and Child Development from Jefferson College.  She believes  that children learn best through play and gentle guidance. 

Ms. Melissa Ms. Melissa has been at The Goddard School since 2010 and is currently attending Jefferson College pursuing a degree in Nursing, with a focus on Pediatric care.  She has a love for children and has worked with many families doing in-home childcare and  babysitting. She believes that since we live in a diverse community, each child's education should include learning and embracing other cultures.

Ms. Jessica Ms. Jessica began working at The Goddard School in September 2007.  She graduated from Central Missouri State  University in 2002 with my BSE in Early Childhood Education.  She began her teaching career as a Kindergarten teacher for the Kansas City Missouri Public Schools and continued as a substitute teacher, and  then became a preschool teacher in San Diego, California.  She believes that all children can, and want, to learn.  It is the responsibility of educators to adapt their styles and meet the needs of all children. 

Mr. Chris Mr. Chris has worked at The Goddard School since August 2007 and has a degree in Psychology from UMSL.  He works as a support staff in various classrooms and you will see him most afternoons in the Pre-K classroom.  He has also worked in the Rockwood District's Adventure Club Program.  He feels that each individual child is unique in and, therefore, learn differently and from one another. 

Ms. Veronica Ms.Veronica has worked at The Goddard School since March 2007 as a floater in various classrooms.  Her degree is in Early Childhood Education from San Martin University in Lima, Peru.  She has experience at other early learnin centers prior to coming to Goddard.  She believes children are the future of our society and their development is important at an early age.  They all learn at different levels and have different strengths. 

Ms. Jessica Ms. Jessica has been working at The Goddard School since 2008 and has an Associate of Art in Teaching from Jefferson College.  She is currently working on her Bacehlor's degree in Elementary Education through UMSL.   She believes the best way to motivate children's learning is through hands-on experiences as well as through guided discovery.

Ms. Devin Ms. Devin has been at The Goddard School since 2009. She is currently pursuing a degree in Early Childhood Education at Meramec College and will soon be transferring to UMSL.  Her goal is to become the best Kindergarten teacher that she can be.  Her teaching philosophy is not to be reactive, but, rather, proactive.  Using positive reinforcement is "key" because it engages children to build self-confidence and self-esteem, further allowing them to believe in themselves independently.  Her experience with children has taught her a vital message in return; give children a voice and let them be heard. 

Ms. Laura Ms. Laura has been working at The Goddard School as support staff since August 2010.  She has an Associate of Art degree in Teaching and is currently attending UMSL working towards her Bachelor's in Elementary Education.  She also plans to earn her certification in Early Childhood Education. She has worked with children in several settings such as a childcare center, Junior Achievement, after school programs and vacation bible school.  She loves teaching childen and helping them succeed.  When it comes to education, she believes that all children learn differently, but deserve to be treated equally.  It is herjob as a teacher to assist learning and growth academically, personally and ethically. 

Ms. Jessica Ms. Jessica began working at The Goddard School in March 2002 and has been working in childcare since 1997.  She attended UMSL where she studied Early Childhood Education.  Her teaching philosophy is that all children learn differently and the key to being a good educator is finding what works for each individual child. 

Ms. Denise Ms. Denise joined the team at The Goddard School in October 2010 and has been working with children of all ages since 1986.  She will complete her Associate's degree in Early Care and Education at St. Louis Community College in December 2011.  She plans to further her education at Webster University.   She believes that children learn through play and the modeling of others. She promotes open communication with students, parents and other teachers. 

Ms. Cindy Ms. Cindy has been working at The Goddard School since 2003.  She graduated from Southeast Missouri State University with a BS in Education and a double major in Psychology and English.  She has worked in many different education settings over the years, with children as well as adults.  She feels that each child has their own unique personality, strengths and learning styles  It is her job as a teacher to provide learning opportunities that respect individuality, facilitate growth, spark curiosity and strengthen critical thinking skills. 

Ms. Ellen Ms. Ellen has been at The Goddard School since 2000 and has been working with children since 1990.  She has her BS in Psychology, and her psychology  background has helped her understand children's behavior and personality types better.  She believes children learn through play and from each other.  Though she may have a plan for the day, capturing those  "teachable moments" is sometimes more effective with a group or an individual child. Seeing a child learn and enjoy being at school makes every day rewarding.  She uses a lot of games, decision making and child directed discussions to develop those cognitive and social skills.  

Ms. Melissa Ms. Melissa has worked at The Goddard School since 2001.  She has a BS in Education from Missouri Baptist University and is currently pursuing a Master's in Education.  Her philosophy of education is that every child is unique and deserves a quality education. 

Ms. Nichole Ms. Nichole has been working at The Goddard School since 2007 and is currently attending Meramec College pursuing her Associate degree in General Studies.  (Her eventual educational goal is a BS in Elementary Education.)  Her teaching philosophy is to teach children to be creative and achieve their goals so that they can be the best that they can be. 

Ms. Diane Ms. Diane has been at The Goddard School since 2001.  Her  education consists of attending John F. Kennedy High School and Meramec College.    The different age groups that she works with reminds her of fond memories of her own children.  She believes that every child expresses creativity in their own way. 

Ms. Jenny Ms.Jenny has been at The Godddard School since September 2008 and holds a BS in Early Childhood Education from UMSL.  She has been working in the preschool setting since 2001.  She really enjoys working with the younger children and believes that children work best if they are given some direction and then are allowed to let their mind go from there.   Her teaching philosophy is to let children learn from their experiences  - she  likes to give them educational material to explore and learn from--but most of all let children explore and have fun learning!!!
