Faculty Bios

Columbia 100, MD

Heather Andrews - Academic Director - Heather has worked with The Goddard School located in Columbia for over 13 years! She has earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and completed numerous courses and workshops in Early Childhood Development. She enjoys the relationships that she has built with the families and children and is always ready to lend a hand. Heather loves the eagerness to learn that is displayed by the children every day. Heather and her husband have also been blessed with four children of their own!

Nicole Schwartz - Administrative Director - Nicole has been with The Goddard School since March 2011. After graduating from Towson University at the top of her class with a degree in marketing, advertising and public relations, she immediately went into the early childhood education field! Nicole is currently obtaining her master's degree from the Johns Hopkins School of Education. Her background includes director roles, administrative supervision and teaching positions with children two through five years old, including a digital camera class for preschoolers! Look for her photographs of our children around the school!

Moos - Infants - The two Infant rooms, called the Moos, have a total of four teachers who enjoy their time by taking care of our little ones. Combined, they have over 14 years teaching at The Goddard School. Two of our teachers have achieved Child Development Associate (CDA) certificates while two of our teachers have their Bachelor of Arts degrees plus one has an Master of Arts degree. They are a great team!

Ponies - Toddlers There are two classrooms for our Ponies, both are for toddlers.  We have five full-time teachers running the programs and they do a lot of activities! Combined, the teachers have 16 years of experience. One teacher has her Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and the other four are currently working on completing their degrees. Together they provide a safe and comfortable home-away-from home learning environment where each child's sense of independence can soar.

Ducks - Two Year Old Children We have two classrooms called the Ducks, both are Two Year Old programs. The teachers in these rooms are fantastic! Together the teachers have been working at The Goddard School located on Columbia 100 Parkway for nearly 15 years! Two of these teachers have Bachelor of Arts degrees. The other teachers are attending school to earn their degree. These teachers keep the children safe and happy.

Kittens and Cats - Three Year Old Children Our Three Year Old classrooms are called the Kittens and the Cats. The teachers work very hard to provide a program of learning through play! All four of the teachers have worked at The Goddard School for a total of eight years. Three of the teachers have Bachelor of Arts degrees and the fourth has earned her Associates Degree. All of the teachers love teaching children and working at The Goddard School located on Columbia 100 Parkway.

Owls and Gardeners - Pre-K - In our Pre-Kindergarten program, the four year old children learn and play through our curriculum and are called the Owls and the Gardeners. Together, the Pre-K teachers have over 24 years of experience in teaching! These teachers are devoted to providing the best early education to the children. Two of the teachers have prior experience working in local public school systems. They have each earned their Bachelor of Arts degrees in Education. Another teacher has completed his Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education and the final teacher is currently pursuing her Bachelor's degree. Together they provide the children with a nurturing learning environment where they can develop a love of learning that will prepare them for Kindergarten and for many years to come!

Farmers - The children in our Kindergarten classroom are called the Farmers. The Farmers are led by Ms. Charlotte--the recipient of the 2011 Goddard Teacher of the Year Award for her literacy program, Running the Bases to Reading!  Ms. Charlotte received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education, and has worked at The Goddard School located on Columbia 100 Parkway for 11 years running our certified Kindergarten program!

Kathy S. - Administrative Assistant - Kathy began working at The Goddard School located on Columbia 100 Parkway in March of 2002. She worked as the Teacher in our Kitten and Ducks classrooms as well as being our morning supervisor before becoming an Administrative Assistant. Every day is an adventure!
