When her husband got a new job, she was forced to leave her position in St. Charles but knew about the school coming soon to Lincoln Park. Alane was truly sad, and felt like giving up because she lost everything in Hurricane Katrina. However, Alane's parents told her not to give up on her dreams. This is one reason why she is passionate about working with children. She has volunteered at The Children's Hospital of New Orleans in the emergency room for the last two years.
