Mary Kay and Matthew Buquoi - Mary Kay and Matthew Buquoi are proud to be the owners of the Canton Goddard School. Ms. Mary Kay received her Early Childhood Education degree from the University of West Georgia, a Master's degree in Educational Research from Georgia State University and an Educational Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Piedmont College. Mr. Matt has a Bachelor's degree in Physics from Georgia Tech. Prior to owning the Canton Goddard School, Ms. Mary Kay taught students for ten years ranging from four-year-olds to fifth graders. Together they have a daughter who has attended The Goddard School since she was four months old. When they are not at the school, they enjoy participating in community activities, playing at the park, traveling, 5K races and family fun runs.
Ms. Lindsey - Ms. Lindsey is the Business Manager. She holds a Business degree from Georgia State University. Ms. Lindsey has worked with The Goddard School since 2009. Prior to working in childcare, Lindsey worked in real estate and the financial service industry.
Ms. Stephanie - Ms. Stephanie is the director. She has earned her Child Development Associate's Degree, a Nursing Degree and has attended the Goddard University. She has worked with The Goddard School for over 10 years. Her energy and excitement transcends through her daily activities as the director. Her love for children and experience with Goddard helps create the warm loving environment that every child deserves.
Infants: Ms. Brianna, Ms. Amanda & Ms. Alysa - Ms. Brianna is our morning Lead Teacher in our Infant (6 wks to 1 year) classroom. Ms. Brianna received her Technical Certificate in Early Childhood Education from Chattahoochee Technical College. Prior to coming to The Goddard School, Brianna worked with children at another area preschool as well as spending several years as a stay at home mom to her young son.
Ms. Amanda is the afternoon Lead Teacher in the Infant Room (6 wks to 1 year) and has been with The Goddard School for over a year. Ms. Amanda has a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education from Kennesaw State University. In addition to her childcare experience, Ms. Amanda has worked with Mothers' Morning Out.
Ms. Alysa has been with The Goddard School for a year and has worked with children for fourteen years.
Together Ms. Alysa, Ms. Amanda and Ms. Brianna enjoy all the aspects of our babies including singing songs and playing peek-a-boo.
First Steps: Ms. Ashley and Ms. Chelsea - Ms. Ashley is currently in school and is studying early childhood education. Ms. Ashley has worked with children under the age of 12 months for five years.
Ms. Chelsea attended Chattahoochee Tech and has experience in early childhood education. Ms. Chelsea is a very sweet and loving teacher. She and Ms. Ashley make a great team!
Toddlers: Ms. Tonya & Ms. Marianka -
Ms. Tanya is our Lead Teacher in our Toddlers (18-24 months) classroom. Ms. Tanya is currently working on her CDA and will complete it in December. She has been working with The Goddard School since 2008.
Ms. Marianka worked as an au pair prior to coming into the childcare setting.
Together they spend time focusing on social growth through story time and songs while also developing self-help skills such as hand-washing and sharing.
Get Set: Ms. Mendy & Ms. Lisa - Ms. Mendy is the Lead Teacher in the Get Set (2-year-old) classroom. Ms. Mendy has her Child Development Associate's degree. Ms. Mendy has worked in childcare for over 10 years. Ms. Lisa has a Bachelor's degree in French Language. Together they strive to provide each child the tools they will need to reach their educational goals.
Young Preschool: Ms. Melissa & Ms. Lauren - Ms. Melissa and Ms. Lauren are co-leading our Young Preschool Class (2 1/2-3 1/2). Ms. Melissa has worked with The Goddard School for 4 years and has taught children from ages 12 months to 3 years old. Ms. Melissa is currently working on her CDA and should complete it in December 2011.
Ms. Lauren has a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and is certified to teach preschool through 5th grade. She has worked with children for five years.
Ms. Melissa and Ms. Lauren work with our preschoolers to introduce them to cognitive and social skills, language and literacy, math, story-telling and the process of writing.
Older Preschool: Ms. Lauren - Ms. Lauren is the Lead Teacher in our Older Preschool classroom. She has a bachelor's degree in early childhood education. Ms. Lauren is a very loving and patient teacher. She has wonderful classroom management skills and her students love her!
Private Pre-K: Ms. Emily & Ms. Lauren - - Ms. Emily is the Lead Teacher in our Private Pre-Kindergarten classroom. Ms. Emily has a Bachelor's degree in Education and is certified to teach preschool through middle school. Ms. Emily has worked with children for six years in many different forms including cheerleading, camp counselor, after-school teacher and in church nurseries.
Ms. Lauren is a graduate of Kennesaw State University. She received a Bachelors Degree in Psychology. Ms. Lauren has worked with children for the last 4 years as a nanny and lifeguard. She believes that each child is different and must learn at his or her own pace. She strives to create a safe and warm classroom environment where children can reach their highest potential.
Together, Ms. Emily and Ms. Lauren work to prepare students in their classroom for our Private Kindergarten.
Private Kindergarten: Ms. Amber & Ms. Jessica Ms. Amber is the Lead Teacher in our Private Kindergarten. She received a Bachelor's degree from Kennesaw State University in Elementary Education. Ms. Amber has been with The Goddard School since August of 2010. She is also certified to teacher Preschool through 5th grade. In addition to childcare, Ms. Amber has coached youth cheerleading for four years.
Ms. Jessica has her degree in Elementary Education from North Central College in Illinois. She has worked in the school setting as a teacher and substitute. Ms. Jessica is also certified to teach Preschool through 8th grade. Ms Amber and Ms. Jessica's main goal of Kindergarten is to prepare happy, confident learners who are ready for First Grade.
