Marijke Strachan, Owner - Marijke is married to Steve Berson and is the proud mother of three children; Nick, Anneke and Andrew. Nick is a UGA graduate working in Chico, California; Anneke is a UVA graduate working in DC; and Andrew is in High School. Marijke holds a BBA in finance from UGA and spent 24 years working in sales, consulting, education and customer relationship management positions for start-up and multi-national software companies around the world. In 2004, Marijke decided to own The Goddard School® in Roswell, Georgia. Having experienced the joy of positively impacting the families within the Roswell community she is excited to bring this quality program to Buford. She and her family love to travel and enjoy skiing, hiking and cycling. Marijke is active in the community and enjoys spending time with the athletes at the North Metro Miracle League, an inclusive sports organization for developmentally challenged children and adults.
Brandy Miller, Director - Brandy has a bachelor's and master's degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Arkansas and Arkansas State. She comes to The Goddard School with many years of experience as a director at other top-tier preschools. One of her favorite quotes is, "We worry about what a child will become tomorrow, yet we forget that he is someone today."
Ms. Sarah, Toddlers - Sarah received her bachelor's degree from Azusa Pacific University in Los Angeles, California. There, she studied early childhood education and minored in English. Sarah is married and has one child.
Ms. Beverly, Young Preschool - Ms. Beverly has an associate's degree in early childhood education from Gwinnett Technical College. She is currently attending Gainesville State College for a bachelor’s degree in Technology Management. She has been taking care of and teaching children since she was 16 years old.
Ms. Christina, Get Set - Ms. Christina is a graduate of Grayson High School in Loganville. She is currently enrolled at Gwinnett Technical College pursuing a degree in business, with a minor in early childhood development. Christina has worked in the education field for over three years and enjoys everyday achievements in learning.
Ms Ivana, First Steps - Ms. Ivana holds a B.S. in Health Administration with many years of qualifying experience in the field of early childhood education. She has taught for over six years and has two children of her own.
Ms. Tia, Preschool - Ms. Tia holds an associate's degree in early childhood education and is pursuing a bachelor's in early childhood education. She plans to obtain a master's in child psychology and a PhD in childhood curriculum.
Ms. Barbara, Pre-K - Ms. Barbara holds both a bachelor's and master's degree in education. She has taught in both public and private educational settings for many years. She has been with the Goddard School since we opened in 2008.
Ms. Jackie, Infants - Ms. Jackie holds an associate's credential and has many years of qualifying early childhood education experience. She has worked in the early childhood field field for over 30 years in various classrooms. She has been married for 35 years and is the mother of three grown children and the grandmother of six.
