Faculty Bios

Broomfield, CO

Ms. Kim - Director of Education - Ms. Kim played a critical role in helping open The Goddard School® located in Broomfield, and continues to manage the education and curriculum of our school. Ms. Kim is the friendly face you see day and night at our school, and if you ever need anything, she's the one to call. Ms. Kim earned a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Metropolitan State College of Denver and is working on a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Development. Ms. Kim chose the early childhood development field in order to pursue her passion of educating young children. Her background includes over eight years experience working in a classroom setting in various roles including assistant through lead kindergarten teacher positions. “I am so excited to have the opportunity to work with you and your children, and I look forward to welcoming you to our Goddard family,” adds Ms. Kim.

Ms. Rochelle - Assistant Director - Ms. Rochelle brings with her over fourteen years experience working in the Early Childhood Education field. She has taught children of all ages, from infants through school-age and has worked as a teacher, assistant director and director in both public and private learning centers. In addition to her experience, Rochelle holds a Level III credential with Infant Toddler Endorsement and holds a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Administration. She has also helped three schools earn national accreditation, two through NAEYC and one through Qualistar. As you can see, Ms. Rochelle is passionate about her work with young children, and she continues to work with our students everyday, both as a teacher and a mentor to our teaching team. Rochelle is fully committed to providing the highest quality education and care to our students, and we're proud to have her on our team.

Ms. Stephanie S. - Lead Teacher (Kindergarten & Summer Readiness) - Ms. Stephanie brings with her a wonderful mix of education, experience, and energy to Goddard.  Originally from Pennsylvania (Goddard's home state), Ms. Stephanie graduated with honors from Penn State University with a B.S. in Kindergarten and Elementary Education in 2005.  Ms. Stephanie absolutely loves teaching young learners as evident by her many years of experience working with Kindergartners and 1st graders. 

Ms. Heather - Co-Lead Teacher (Pre-K and Fitness & Nutrition) - Ms. Heather leads the Delightful Dragonflies Pre-K team and manages critical tasks such as lesson planning, preparation of Daily Activity Reports, and running open center activities. Ms. Heather has been a key member of the Goddard family since May 2009 and has proven to have exceptional teaching and relationship building skills with children of all ages. She holds a degree in Early Childhood Education, which shows how committed she is to working with young minds and we're excited to have her on board. "I have always had a passion for teaching children and after interning at an early childhood development center during college, I just knew that teaching young children was my calling," states Ms. Heather. She loves the excitement that children bring to the classroom as well as their constant energy, which makes every day fun! When she's not working with children at our school she also does some volunteer work.

Ms. Gina - Co-Lead Teacher (Pre-K) - Ms. Gina is a Co-Lead Teacher in the Delightful Dragonflies classroom. Gina has been teaching and caring for children of all ages in the Early Childhood Education (ECE) field since 2002. Gina will soon earn her degree in Human Development, with a minor in ECE from Metropolitan State College of Denver. “I am excited to be a part of the Goddard team and I look forward to playing, laughing and watching your child grow!” states Ms. Gina.

Ms. Katie A. - Assistant Teacher (Pre-K and Yoga) - Ms. Katie A. is an Assistant Teacher in our Delightful Dragonflies (Pre-K) classroom and recently returned to Colorado from Pennsylvania, where she taught at a Goddard School. She has worked with kids for as long as she can remember and her friends and family have always said that she has “the magic touch” with kids. When Ms. Katie decided to move back to Colorado, there was no doubt that The Goddard School® located in Broomfield was the place for her. Why does Ms. Katie love working at Goddard? Primarily because she is a big kid at heart and she loves to play and explore with children, which is Goddard’s philosophy. Ms. Katie has also made the commitment to build her skills and knowledge as an early childhood educator by enrolling in the Child Development Associate (CDA) program, which will help Ms. Katie achieve her goal of becoming a Lead Teacher at Goddard.

Ms. Kim - Lead Teacher (Pre-K) -  Ms. Kim M. is the Lead Teacher in the Brilliant Butterflies Pre-Kindergarten class. Ms. Kim joins us from a Goddard School in North Carolina where she taught Pre-Kindergarten for three years. Prior to working for Goddard, Ms. Kim attended Florida State University where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education with a minor in Psychology. "I became a teacher because I love to see the joy in a child's face when they are having fun and the spark in a child’s eye when they truly understand the meaning of what they have learned," states Ms. Kim.

Ms. Jenna - Assistant Teacher (Pre-K) -  Ms. Jenna is the Assistant Teacher in the Brilliant Butterflies Pre-Kindergarten room; Jenna began her career with Goddard in a Support Teacher role before taking on the responsibilities of an Assistant Teacher. She currently attends Metropolitan State College and will graduate in December 2011 with a Bachelor's degree in Human Development and a minor in Early Childhood Education; "As a mother of a young child, I am very passionate about working with children. It is so amazing to watch children learn and grow and nothing beats the look on a child's face when they know that they have accomplished something," states Ms. Jenna.

Ms. Nicolette - Lead Teacher (Preschool) - Ms. Nicolette has been a key member of the Goddard teaching team since our opening. She is the Lead Teacher in our Awesome Ants preschool classroom, and has done an outstanding job of delivering Goddard's curriculum to our three to four-year-olds. Ms. Nicolette earned a degree in Human Development and Family Studies from Colorado State University. Nicolette's experience working with children has helped her discover her true passion - helping children learn and succeed. “I am proud to be a part of The Goddard School® team and look forward to working with you and your child,” adds Ms. Nicolette.

Ms. Stephanie - Assistant Teacher (Preschool) - Ms. Stephanie has also been a critical member of our teaching team, working as Ms. Nicolette's Assistant Teacher in the Awesome Ants preschool classroom since our opening. The two of them have developed a special bond with our preschoolers and have built one of the finest preschool rooms in the area. We're so proud to have Ms. Stephanie on our team. In addition to her experience working with young children, Ms. Stephanie is currently studying Psychology at Front Range Community College with hopes of earning a degree in the near future. "I love teaching your children and enjoy being a part of their lives," adds Ms. Stephanie.

Ms. Gussie - Lead Teacher (Preschool) - Ms. Gussie teaches our 3- & 4-year-olds in the Happy Hoppers room. She has been teaching children through play and discovery for over 20 years and we’re so happy she is a part of our Goddard family. Ms. Gussie has taught all age groups from preschool thru age 8, and is proud to say she is a former Daisy, Brownie and Girl Scout leader. She earned her B.A. in English and M.A. in Organizational Communication, holds ITTERS and ECCERS certifications and is currently working on her Expanding Quality for Infants and Toddlers (EQIT) and Child Development Associate (CDA) credentials. “I look forward to establishing a relationship with you and your children while we have fun together at The Goddard School,” adds Ms. Gussie.

Mr. Chris - Assistant Teacher & Music Specialist - 

Mr. Chris is the Assistant Teacher in the Happy Hoppers preschool room (ages 3-4). Mr. Chris has been working in the Early Childhood Education field since 2006 at St. Louis ELC in Louisville followed by St. Rose Pre-K in downtown Denver. In addition to his experience, Mr. Chris holds a Bachelor’s degree in English from Skidmore College in New York as well as a Level 1 credential in Early Childhood Education. “As the oldest of five children, and a father to two children of my own, I share Goddard’s commitment of helping students acquire a lifelong love of learning, and I’ve found working here to be a very exciting experience,” states Mr. Chris. In addition to his role as a preschool teacher, Mr. Chris is our school music teacher. “When I’m not teaching, you can almost always find me listening, composing, performing or doing something else musical,” adds Mr. Chris.

Ms. Maeve - Co-Lead Teacher (2 1/2 - 3yrs) - Ms. Maeve is a Co-Lead Teacher in our Curious Crickets classroom. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Colorado and hopes to earn her Master's degree in Child/Adolescent Development Psychology. Maeve has nearly seven years of experience working with infants through kindergarteners, and has an incredibly positive and outgoing personality that kids, parents and teachers relate to easily. "I am a true believer in learning through play! In my experience, play-based learning has proven to be the best way for children to learn how to express themselves and solve problems," states Ms. Maeve.

Ms. Melissa - Co-Lead Teacher (2 1/2 - 3 yrs) - Ms. Melissa is a Co-Lead Teacher in our Curious Crickets classroom. Ms. Melissa has worked with infants and toddlers for several years, including four and a half years at a Goddard School located in Massachusetts. “I loved working for Goddard and was so excited to continue my career with The Goddard School located in Broomfield,” states Ms. Melissa. Melissa is currently working toward completing her degree in Early Childhood Education.

Ms. Shea - Co-Lead Teacher (2 - 2 1/2 years) and Yoga Teacher Ms. Shea works with our two-year-olds in the Busy Bees classroom. She joins us from the University of Colorado where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, with special interest in Child Development and Child Abuse Prevention. In addition to her education, Ms. Shea has tutored in programs such as Reading Buddies and has experience helping with Love and Logic courses. Shea's favorite children's book is "Roxaboxen" and there is almost no song she doesn't like, but she particularly loves Disney music. "I am very excited to be teaching and I am bursting with creative and fun ideas for learning," states Ms. Shea.

Ms. Gina V. - Co-Lead Teacher (2 - 2 1/2 years) Ms. Gina V. works with our toddlers in the Busy Bees room.  She has spent eight plus years working with children, including three years at another Goddard School.  Gina absolutely loves caring for and teaching two-year-olds, so working with our Busy Bee students was a no brainer for her.  In addition to her experience, Ms. Gina attends Front Range C.C. to earn her degree with emphasis in Elementary Education and is also looking to earn her Child Development Associates (CDA) credential in early childhood education.

Ms. Ag - Lead Teacher (18 - 24 months) - Ms. Agnes, or Ag for short, is the Lead Teacher in our Loveable Ladybugs classroom. Originally from Massachusetts, Ms. Ag moved to Colorado in 1994 and has spent several years teaching and caring for infants and toddlers. She holds a State of Colorado Director's Certification to run an early childhood center, and she is currently working toward earning a Child Development Associate's credential. Another cool fact about Ms. Ag is that she's married to a guy named Charlie Brown. "I look forward to teaching your Little Ladybugs and being part of the Goddard  School team," states Ms. Ag.

Ms. Marie - Assistant Teacher (18-24 months) -  Ms. Marie assists in our Loveable Ladybugs pre-toddler room. Marie has worked with children in the Early Childhood Education (ECE) field for ten years and brings a loving and nurturing teaching style to the classroom. In addition to her experience, Ms. Marie has two children of her own and is working towards earning her degree in Early Childhood Education. “I am thankful to have the opportunity to bring my education and experience to Goddard to help promote learning and relationships with the staff and children,” states Ms. Marie.

Ms. Melissa - Co-Lead Teacher (12-18 months) Ms. Melissa is a Co-Lead Teacher in the Itsy Bitsy Spiders room. She has taught and cared for young children for many, many years and has experience working as both a teacher and assistant director in various learning centers. In addition to her experience, Ms. Melissa holds an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education. “I absolutely LOVE teaching,” states Ms. Melissa.

Ms. Rebecca - Co-Lead Teacher (12-18 months) -  Ms. Rebecca is the Co-Lead Teacher in the Itsy Bitsy Spiders room. Rebecca brings with her a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Northern Colorado. In addition to her time at Goddard, Ms. Rebecca has spent the last several years working as a nanny and caregiver to young children. “I am so excited to be part of the one year old teaching team at Goddard,” states Ms. Rebecca.

Ms. Kattie C. - Infant Room Supervisor & Sign Language - Ms. Kattie is another one of our teachers that has been part of the Goddard teaching team since our opening. She plays an absolutely critical role, caring for and nurturing our infants in our Cuddly Caterpillar Infant room. Ms. Kattie comes with all sorts of qualifications, from earning a Child Development Associate's (CDA) degree to becoming Infant Nursery Certified by the State of Colorado. Her background includes over twenty years experience teaching infants and toddlers and she has loved every moment of it. “I am so excited to work with such a fine group of people at The Goddard School® and I am greatly humbled and appreciative that you've chosen me to teach, nurture and care for your children,” adds Ms. Kattie.

Ms. Nancy - Infant Room -  Ms. Nancy assists in caring for our infants in the Cuddly Caterpillars room. Nancy has worked in the Early Childhood Education (ECE) field since 2006, primarily with toddlers. She is warm, loving and nurturing, all of the things babies need. In addition to her experience, Ms. Nancy has taken coursework in the ECE field and has completed the educational requirements to earn the Child Development Associates (CDA) credential. “I have always loved working with children and enjoy teaching them new things,” states Ms. Nancy.

Ms. Eugenia - Spanish Teacher & Assistant - Ms. Eugenia teaches Spanish at The Goddard School located in Broomfield and has also assisted in many of our classrooms for over two years. Her cultural roots are from Mexico, where she lived for most of her life. Ms. Eugenia earned a Bachelor’s degree in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) and graduated with honors. She has spent many years working with adults in an education setting, but it was the time that she spent caring for her grandchildren that drew her to the early childhood education field. Ms. Eugenia is working toward earning the Child Development Associates (CDA) credential to further her education in early childhood.

Ms. Yeng - Art History Teacher -  Ms. Yeng is a member of our Support Teaching Team and heads up our Art History program. Ms. Yeng is a graduate of Metropolitan State College of Denver where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in History with a minor in Early Childhood Education. “I am excited to say that I love working at The Goddard School! I enjoy children of all ages and look forward to working with you and your child,” states Ms. Yeng.
