WHAT MAKES GODDARD NUMBER ONE?
All head teachers have degrees in Early Childhood Education and are certified. Goddard Systems University (GSU) supports the on-going training of Goddard teachers by providing regional classes on a quarterly basis as well as on-site training by corporate representatives. GSU training has been approved as an authorized provider by the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET).
Goddard requires that an on-site owner (Ms. Brenda) is present at the School to provide support to her faculty, address parent concerns and needs, concentrate on business matters and ensure that the children are in a safe, fun and loving environment. The Educational Director is also a part of the Goddard Management Team and she is responsible for the Educational aspects of the School, some which include: curriculum planning, assisting teachers with appropriate lesson plans, coordinating on-going educational training courses, community outreach programs and maintaining safe, nurturing classroom environments.
Classes maintain low student-to-teacher ratios, with many small-group activities to ensure plenty of individual attention for each child.
Parents receive personalized daily reports detailing their child´s activities, nap time, potty training time and progress.
To ensure the safety of our children, we offer two separate playgrounds for older and younger age groups. Both playgrounds are surrounded by a six foot vinyl fence.
In addition to state inspections by The Office of Child Care, Goddard Systems conducts regular surprise Quality Assurance (QA) inspections to ensure we maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, safety and care!
COMMUNITY OUTREACH - MAKING A DIFFERENCE!
At The Goddard School® located in Bel Air, we believe in the importance of teaching the children how they can assist those in our community that are less fortunate. We offer a variety of activities throughout the year that allow the children to actively participate in supporting our community.
In September, we donate a variety of new books (different age and skill levels) to Anna's House which is a shelter for homeless women and their children.
In October to November, we host a "Kids Helping Kids Food Drive", in which we donate a mass amount of non-perishable foods to our local food bank, just in time for the holiday season.
In October, we decorate a real "zoo tree" that is donated to the Chesapeake Cancer Alliance "Festival of the Trees" program. This donation helps raise funds for cancer research programs in Harford County.
During the holiday season, the PTO organizes our Salvation Army "Angel Tree." Each year, generous donations from our families and faculty such as toys, clothing, gift cards, books, etc. are sent to the door step of several local families to help make their holiday spirits happy.
In February, we host a "Souper Bowl Soup Drive." Children bring in a variety of canned soups to donate to a nearby food bank.
In the spring, we donate Scholastic books or money that was raised from our book drive to a local charity.
Everyday is an OPEN HOUSE at The Goddard School located in Bel Air, Maryland.
