Why the Goddard School?
Hello and welcome!  I am Ms. Brooke, the on-site owner of the The Goddard School® located in Aurora, CO at the intersection of Arapahoe Road and Aurora Parkway. As a mother of three children, I understand the stress of finding and selecting a preschool.  This is a big decision for both you and your child!   Before opening The Goddard School, my career was in the corporate world of business finance.  Taking my kids to preschool was a daily part of our lives.  It wasn't until our third child, Colin, arrived that I learned that choosing the right preschool is critically important to a child's emotional and cognitive development.  Along the way, I also found my true calling: educating young children.

Colin had been in preschool two years before I began to recognize just how much he was struggling. Exhausted and frustrated at the end of each school day, Colin cried as he climbed into our car to go home. Heartbroken, I extensively researched the different philosophies and approaches towards preschool education.  I discovered that Colin didn't suffer from a learning disability, he was just in the wrong school.  His learning style required hands-on activities, the mentoring of a strong teacher and a curriculum designed to meet his individual learning pace.  The “self-directed” philosophy his preschool favored had delayed his development by more than a year.  I was frustrated, but determined to find a solution.

Several years earlier, my two older children had attended a Goddard School in our previous neighborhood.   I began to recall the many approaches they used in their curriculum.  The classrooms were vibrant and fun.  My children were fully engaged with their teachers each day.  I recalled how every type of learner had the opportunity to succeed and I began to realize just how much my other children had flourished.  I believe that if Colin had attended The Goddard School, his learning style would have been supported early on and his confidence unshaken.

Without a Goddard close by, I chose to home-school.  A year later, Colin was ready for Kindergarten.  It was one of the most rewarding times of my life, but he was ready to start anew, and surprisingly, so was I.  Colin had shown me what I was meant to do with the rest of my life.  I was going to build a preschool, a GREAT preschool, and I would find the Colins of the world and teach them how to thrive.  Two years later, I opened The Goddard School located in Aurora where our outstanding staff and I have been mentoring young minds ever since!

Some Details about Our School
Our program is designed to enhance the emotional, social, intellectual and physical development of your child from six weeks to six years of age. We are open from 7 AM to 6 PM, Monday through Friday. We offer half-day programs from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM and full-day programs ranging from two to five days per week. 

Our teachers write their own lesson plans to suit the unique needs of their classroom. Every teacher is an expert in the field of early childhood development. Over 95% of our faculty is Lead Teacher qualified in the State of Colorado with at least an associate's degree, if not a four year degree, in a child-related field. We take the overall well-being and education of every child very seriously.  Our standard to deliver the BEST preschool experience available.

Your child will thrive as they are exposed to Spanish, Mandarin, Sign Language, Yoga, P.E., Art History, World Cultures, Music & Movement, Language Arts, Math, Science, Phonics & Literacy, Computers and Manners programs. Every moment at school is an opportunity to imagine, explore and play in a productive way.
