Ms. Sarah - Director of Education - Ms. Sarah joined our school in 2005 as our Director of Education. She has a B.S. Degree in Psychology from Virginia Commonwealth University where she followed an elementary education track. Ms. Sarah came to our school with over 17 years of experience working with children including previous Goddard teaching experience. Ms. Sarah is on-site every day overseeing our overall commitment to quality child care. Her focus is on ensuring that the highest quality standards for our Educational Programs are achieved while providing exceptional customer service to all of our families.
Ms. Crystal - Assistant Director - Ms. Crystal has a B.S. Degree in Family and Childhood Development from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. Prior to becoming our Assistant Director, Ms. Crystal held various teaching positions since high school in both the public and private setting. Ms. Crystal is on-site every day to ensure that all our Quality Assurance Standards are always met and that The Goddard Philosophy is embraced in each and every one of our classrooms. She is also available to assist all of our families and children on a daily basis.
INFANT - The teachers in our Infant classroom bring a combined 78+ years of experience to The Goddard School. Our Lead Teacher holds an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood education, while all the other teachers have either completed their degrees in Education or have taken multiple college-level classes in the field. Together, the teachers provide a warm and nurturing environment for all the babies in the Storks & Firefighter’s Room while they sing songs, read stories and most of all play and talk to the babies.
1ST STEPS - The teachers in our Conductor's classroom offer over 24 years of experience in the field of education. Our lead teacher holds a BS in Human Services/Education. Both of our teachers in the Conductor’s room continue to provide a warm and nurturing environment while helping the children explore their new surroundings and master the skill of walking independently.
TODDLER - In our First Mates, Pilots and Construction Crew classrooms the teachers together have a total of over 49 years of experience in the field of education. Our lead teachers in all three of these classrooms hold a BA or BS Degree in Early Childhood/Psychology or Elementary Education, while the assistant teachers in each of these rooms either have earned a BS or a Master's degree in the field of education or are currently working on their completion of such. Our teachers encourage each child’s eager investigation of their world by providing days filled with a balance of quiet activities, music and movement, and plenty of outdoor running and climbing.
PRESCHOOL - All of the Lead and Assistant teachers in our Aviators and Builders classrooms hold a BS or BA Degree in Education or a Master's Degree in Education. They also bring to our School a total of 34 years of experience in the field of education. In these classrooms our wonderful teachers lead engaging activities which encouraging curiosity. Learning Centers for math, science, imaginary play, music, creative art and computers provide both shared and independent learning opportunities in our large and bright classrooms.
PRE-K - All of our Lead and Assistant teachers in our Deputies and Cabbies classrooms have earned their BS Degree in the field of education. They also bring to our School a total of over 12 years of experience teaching while promoting cooperative play and collaborative problem solving. Kindergarten readiness, social finesse and a mastery of gross motor skills is balanced each day, by our great teachers, with opportunities for independent discovery and cooperative learning.
AFTER SCHOOL - Both of our After School teachers hold BS degrees in the field of Education and their State of Virginia Teaching License while bringing over 43 years experience in education to our school. In our after school age program our teachers compliment each child’s school day by encouraging quiet time for homework, socialization with friends, teacher directed activities focused on art or science and outside play time.
