Mrs. Alice B. (Executive Director) - Welcome to our beautiful School. What a thrill it is to be here at The Goddard School as Executive Director. I started my career of working with children in 1989. I have worked in Texas, California, and Virginia. While I have spent seven years in the elementary school environment, the rest of my time has been spent working in early childhood education. My degrees are in Early Childhood Education, and Liberal Studies, with my Master’s being in Business Administration (emphasis in management). I have successfully led several school programs through NAEYC accreditation and National Accreditation for Private Schools. I have diligently worked to ensure that the proper educational development has been incorporated within the classroom curriculum. My husband is a Naval Officer currently stationed in Norfolk. We have two incredible children ages 15 & 17. I look forward to getting to know all of the children and families here at Goddard.
Mrs. Debbie K. (Operations Director) - I am very excited to be here as the Operations Director. I graduated from Penn State University with a B.S. degree in Child Development and PA Teacher Certification in Early Childhood Education. I have 10 years of teaching experience working with children from Infants to Kindergarten and 15 years experience as a Director for Child Development Centers in Pennsylvania, Delaware, and Maryland. My most recent experience was as the Director of Education for six years at another Goddard School. While there, I was successful in implementing a high quality, safe, and developmentally appropriate environment with a strong curriculum. In addition, I built strong relationships with the children and their families. Both of my children are Goddard graduates and thanks to Goddard’s high standards and curriculum they excel academically.
Madhu & Akhil Govil (Owners) - Welcome to The Goddard School®! We would like to take this opportunity to introduce ourselves and share with you a little about who we are and how we came to The Goddard School®. Our families dedicated themselves to education and taught us the value of it. Madhu’s family established many schools in Delhi, India. They created learning opportunities for many children who didn’t have access to education. As Mathematics and Early Childhood Teachers Akhil’s parents helped many children experience a better life. As a successful business executive, Madhu has spent her career putting clients and colleagues needs first. At the same time, Akhil has proudly served as an executive for the Department of Defense. Our family includes a son and daughter who attend medical and engineering school. For the last 20 years, we have also worked with various non-profit organizations who have recognized us for our commitment, youth leadership, and cultural education. Recently, we decided to make our love for children and education into a full-time career. Ms. Lipi - Education: Master’s Degree in Child Development. Ms. Lipi has worked in the Child Development field since 2001. Her work experience includes working with children from Preschool through Fourth grade.
Ms.Roxana - Education: Master's degree in Early Childhood Education. Ms. Roxana has been working in the child care field since 1995. She has experience with children from 2 to 5 yrs of age. Ms. Roxana has also been a Spanish Teacher.
Ms. Karen - Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and a Child Development Associate certification.
Ms. Karen has worked in the Child Development field since 2002. She has worked with infants through school age children.
Ms. Nyteisha - Education: Bachelor's degree in Education. She has been working with children for the last 5 years. Her belief is that children learn by example. Because this is true, Ms. Nyteisha feels that she must always be at her best so that the children will be at their best today and in the future.
Ms. Mariela - Education: Childhood Education from San Martin De Porras University in Peru and completed the comprehensive Early Childhood Development course in Maryland.
Ms. Mariela has worked in the Child Development field since 2003 and she had a home childcare center in Miami, FL.
Ms. Jennifer A. - Education: Specialization with Early Childhood Education courses.
Ms. Jennifer comes to us from another Goddard School and has two years of experience working with children ages two to four.
Ms. Kristen Education: Currently working on her Bachelor's degree in Child Development. Kristen has worked in the Child Development field since 2007. She has worked with children from infant to school age.
Ms. Kimmye Education: AA in Early Childhood Education and Child Development Associate Certification. Kimmye has been working in the childcare field since 1991. She has worked with children ages infant to school age and has also been the director of a childcare program.
Ms. Jan Education: Bachelor of Arts in English, Education and Music; Master's in Education. Jan has worked in the Child Development field since 1972. She has 21 years of experience as a teacher trainer in the areas of curriculum and music and over 39 years of experience working in a Preschool setting as a director, assistant director, lead teacher and assistant teacher.
Ms. Nini Education: Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. Nini has worked in the Child Development field since 2005. She has worked with infants to school-age.
Ms. Anissa Education: Bachelor of Science in Fashion Merchandising. Anissa has worked in the Child Development field since 2001. She has worked with infants to school-age children.
Ms. Maria Education: BS in Business Administration and Child Development Associate Certificate. Maria has worked in the Child Development field since 1997. She has worked with Preschool and Pre-K children and also has experience working in NAEYC accredited schools.
Ms. Makisha - Education: Bachelor’s of Art in Spanish. Makisha has worked in the Child Development field since 2004. She has worked with infants to school age. Makisha has taught students diagnosed with learning disabilities, Autism, developmental delays, emotional disturbances and ADHD. She has also planned and implemented individualized instruction in the areas of motor skills, language development, social development and self-help skills.
Ms. Josephine - Education: BA in English/Literature from Virginia Tech and Early Childhood Classes. Josephine has worked in the Child Development field since 2003. She has worked with children from infants to school age. Josephine has also tutored and mentored elementary school children.
Ms. Ruby - Education: Attended NOVA Community College and completed numerous Early Childhood Education trainings. Ruby has worked in the Child Development field since 2008. She has worked with children ages two to school age. She also works as an after school supervisor.
Ms. Debbie - Education: High School Diploma and Training in Special Education and CNA/PCA. Debbie has worked in the Child Development field since 1999. She has worked with infant to school-age children.
Ms. Jeenat - Education: BA in Early Childhood Education. Jeenat has worked in the Child Development field since 2007. She has experience with children three to five years of age.
Ms. Andrea - Education: Master’s degree in Special Education and Child Development Associate Certification. Andrea has worked in the Child Development field since 2005. She has worked with children infant to five years of age.
Dr. Hay Education: Ed.D, Organizational Leadership, M.S, Educational Administration, B.A, Music Education Teaching Certification in Maryland: Administrator 1, Special Education, Vocal and General Music Pre K to Grade 12.
Experience : Taught music at elementary level since 1987.
Ms. Odette Education: High School Diploma and currently working on her Child Development Associate Certification. Odette has worked in the Child Development field since 2005 with infants.
