Faculty Bios

Alpharetta III, GA

Mr. Shawn and Mrs. Pam, Owners -
Mr.Shawn and Mrs. Pam are the proud parents of three children at the School, Shelby, Ryan and Lexi. Mrs. Pam is a registered nurse and worked for Scottish Rite Children’s Hospital for eight years prior to opening the School. She has taken many of the health and safety practices from the hospital and have implemented them in the School. Mr. Shawn has an MBA and worked as a consultant helping many of the world’s largest companies and government agencies. Both owners are actively involved in the classrooms, field trips, and festivals. In addition, they are actively involved in coaching their children’s organized sports teams. When they are not at School, they enjoy spending time with their family, wakeboarding, traveling, and dining.

Landy G. - Executive Director - Ms. Landy relocated to Alpharetta from Florida in August 2010. She has been an Early Childhood Director for the past 15 years in both secular and religious settings. She holds a Child Care Teacher’s Credential for children ages birth to five years as well as a Director’s Child Care Credential. She truly believes in the goals and objectives of Early Childhood Education and feels strongly about planting the seed early to grow a passion for learning and exploration in the minds and hearts of young students. She has two children and enjoys weight lifting and playing the violin.

Ms. Pam B.,  Assistant Director Ms. Pam holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication Arts and Science from Michigan State University.  Prior to joining our team in August 2011, Pam worked for ten years as a Lead Teacher and Assistant Director for two local preschools.  Pam believes that is a child cannot learn the way we teach, we should teach the way they learn.

Ms. Jennifer F., Lead Teacher - Starfish (Infants) Ms. Jen joined our Goddard family in August 2011, although she has been employed by Goddard Schools since 2009. Jen holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Early Childhood Education from Thomas University as well as a Masters in Education from Nova Southeastern University. Jen feels every child is unique and learn in special ways.

Ms. Rita - Lead Teacher - Penguins (Pre-Toddler) Ms. Rita joined our Goddard family in September 2011 and has worked for other Goddard Schools since 2007. Rita has an Associate degree in Business Administration Management from National Business College, Virginia. Rita believes that all children are special and the best way for children to learn is through play.

Ms. Paris, N., Lead Teacher - Turtles (Toddler) Classroom Ms. Paris joined our Goddard family in October, 2011. She is a graduate from North Arizona University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education, with a certificate in Early Childhood Education. Her past experience includes working with toddlers. Ms. Paris feels, “Teachers offer a sense of balance and control in the classroom so that no child is harmed or overlooked, along with giving a helping hand when needed.” Paris enjoys shopping and reading.

Ms. Kem - Lead Teacher - Lobsters (Two's) - Ms. Kem joined our Goddard family in August 2011.  She holds an Associate degree in Early Childhood education from Georgia Perimeter College. Ms. Kem has spent the past eight years as an Early Childhood Educator working with children from infants through five-years of age. Ms. Kem believes children are like sponges, eager to absorb all the wonders of this world.

Ms. Virginia V., Lead Teacher - Seahorses (Two's) - You will always find Ms. Virginia dancing with scarves or sporting a silly hat in Get Set II. She brings an energy and vibrancy to her students that reflects in her relationship with the children as well as the parents. Ms. Virginia is a seasoned teacher with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and Post Graduate work in Special Education. Ms. Virginia has been a wonderful teacher for 24 years.

Ms. Lauren - Lead Teacher - Sea Lions (Preschool) - Ms. Lauren joined our Goddard family in October 2011. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in History, Biology and Education from The University of Rhode Island. Lauren also holds a Masters degree in Education from the University of Phoenix. Ms Lauren’s classroom experience includes working in the education department at both the Rodger Williams Zoo in Rhode Island and Zoo Atlanta. Ms Lauren believes that children learn when they are having fun.

Ms. Tamnia A., Lead Teacher - Dolphins (Preschool) - Ms. Tamnia comes to The Goddard School with 14 years experience with her Associate Degree in Education. She never fails to excite the children with her love of Science. Beware of erupting volcano’s and tornado twisters! Dive into the Preschool II sensory table which is always filled with a thematic surprise.

Ms. Nicole C., Lead Teacher - Clownfish (Pre-Kindergarten) - The private Pre-K class of Ms. Nicole can be found with endless creative projects, student-made books and site words galore. Ms. Nicole challenges her students with innovative concepts and strives to have each child reach their potential. Ms. Nicole has her BS in Psychology from Kennesaw State Univ. and is working towards her Master's degree in Education. Ms. Nicole says that building self-esteem, confidence and positive social skills are important and constantly incorporates character-building activities into lessons or daily class experiences.

Ms. Ellie K., Lead Teacher - Whales (Pre-Kindergarten) - Our gifted teacher, Ms. Ellie, taught 2nd grade before teaching Pre-K at The Goddard School. Ms. Ellie has a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. Ms. Ellie’s sense of humor and loving nature with her students makes learning a natural progression. She believes in engaging children in a fun loving environment with hands-on activities.

Ms. Ashley F., Lead Teacher - Sharks (Kindergarten) - Ms. Ashley has been our Kindergarten teacher since the schools opening day. She has exhibited a close relationship with her students encouraging them every step of the way. In addition to Education, Ms. Ashley also has an Art Degree. She brings her passion of the arts to her students which reflects in the creativity of her classroom. She introduces each child to the wonderful world of reading and takes them on a journey through learning every day.

Teaching Staff -
At Goddard, we pride ourselves on being the best. All of our lead teachers have college degrees in education related fields. Teachers are current in CPR, First Aid, and Fire Safety Training Certification.

Ms. Lauren A. - Business Manager Ms. Lauren is one of the newest members in our office. She relocated to Georgia from New Orleans,  LA. with 5+ years in business experience. Originally she is from Athens, Alabama. She attended the University of North Alabama where she received her Bachelor's degree in Public Communication. Ms. Lauren is really excited to bring her sales and marketing expertise as well as her passion for children to The Goddard School.
