Owner I am Debra Braun, the proud owner of The Goddard School®, located in Historic Crabapple, since 2002. My husband Stephen and I have three children: one married and an 8 and 10 year old. Our youngest two children, Corey and Nina, attended Goddard since infants and both graduated from our Kindergarten program and now join us for Afterschool! Our Historic Crabapple location is our one and only school and we enjoy operating in a safe, small setting, neighborhood environment. Our incorporated business name is “Childhood- The Joy of Being” which utilizes the initials of my son- for it is truly through his eyes that I have enjoyed the spontaneity of education and learning all over again. We pride ourselves in recognizing the uniqueness of each and every child that comes through our doors and strive daily to provide honest and open communication with our families. I enjoy being on the cutting edge of education for our Preschoolers by offering such programs as Brain Gym, Sensory Integration, Organic/Healthy meals prepared on site, TRAA, CPAA, and POP. In preparation for opening my own school I helped open three other local schools in the area and have taught as well as directed. I believe this allows me to understand my employees needs and manage my business better! Previous to opening my school I held the position of Director of Financial Services for Randstad Work Force. Perhaps my most exciting role with Randstad was that of managing the 1996 Olympic Staffing Plan and supervising teams of hundreds of personnel! I made my choice to leave corporate America when my middle child was born and I no longer wanted to travel Internationally; being so far from home regularly. I have been blessed to live my professional dream of opening my own school; while enjoying raising my children and watching their love of learning grow through our nurturing school environment! It is my wish to offer that to all of your children as well!
