John & Amanda Snowman - John and Amanda are the on-site owners of The Goddard School located in Allen, Texas. The Snowman family is not a quiet one with four children; Katie is in Third Grade, Jack is in Sixth Grade, Samantha is a junior at the University of Maine and Kimberly is a recent graduate from the University of North Texas. They also have a furry family member – a yellow lab, Maggie. John was born in Bangor, Maine. He graduated from the University of Maine-Orono and obtained his MBA from Amberton University in Garland, Texas. John works at Safety-Kleen Systems in Plano as their Rail Manager and has been in the logistics industry for over twenty-five years. He is also a retired USAF officer, which enabled him to travel around the world. Amanda was born in Cleveland, Ohio. She graduated from John Carroll University in Cleveland and obtained her MBA from Amberton University. Amanda worked at Greyhound Lines as their Manager of Customer Operations for sixteen years. Actually, it was job relocation with Greyhound that brought the Snowman’s from Boston, Massachusetts to Texas fifteen years ago. “Having the best school, with the best teachers, and the best educational program is very rewarding to us as parents, and we are truly grateful to be able to serve the children and families in this area. Getting to see our future generations grow and blossom every day into fine young people is a blessing,” add John and Amanda.
Cyndi - Cyndi is our Educational Director. She has been with our school for two years and has held several lead teacher positions in the First Steps and Preschool II classrooms. Cyndi earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Human Relations and Business from Amberton University. She currently is working on a Master’s degree in Education from the University of Phoenix. Cyndi has worked with children for over twenty-five years in various roles such as a second grade teacher and a pre-k teacher to being a nanny for several families. “Children are little sponges who soak up everything we teach them and it inspires me as I watch them learn and grow,” adds Cyndi.
Traci Traci is the Lead Teacher in our Jr Kindergarten classroom. Traci attended the University of Texas in Dallas where she earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology and her State of Texas teaching certification. Traci has been substituting at the Allen and McKinney school districts, mainly in Kindergarten.
Michael -
Michael is the Assistant Teacher in the Junior Kindergarten classroom. Born and raised in Texas, Michael and his family moved to Allen when he was in high school. Attending Collin College, he plans to earn his degree in Education so he can become a math teacher to middle or high school students. Being an assistant teacher at The Goddard School is giving him a great deal of classroom experience.
Ashley - A recent graduate from Texas State University with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, Ashley is the lead teacher in the Pre-Kindergarten classroom. Having worked with children through college and substituting in the San Antonio School District, Ashley values that young children learn best through play as she is there to guide and direct them.
Audra Audra is the lead teacher in the Preschool 2 classroom. Prior to relocating to Texas for her husband’s job, Audra worked at a Goddard School located in Ohio where she was the assistant director. While in Columbus, Audra attended and graduated from Columbus State College. Teaching has been a passion of hers ever since she was a child and would assign her dolls homework. Now having two children of her own, she looks forward to watching them and all children grow and learn but most importantly have fun while learning.
Alexia -
Alexia is the Lead Teacher in our Preschool I classroom. Alexia is graduated from The University of Michigan where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and minored in Spanish. While in college, Alexia worked at the children’s developmental lab which is a NAEYC accredited on-campus childcare facility. Alexia’s future goal is to obtain a Master’s degree and work with young children as an early childhood interventionist.
Taylor - Taylor is the assistant teacher in Preschool 1 and comes to us from The Goddard School located in Reno, Nevada. After completing his time in the military, Taylor's husband decided that it was time to stop moving and settle down which is what brings them to Allen, Texas. Most of their military time was in Reno and Taylor took part as a volunteer for the Northern Nevada R.A.V.E. Family Foundation, which is a nonprofit organization that works with special needs children. While volunteering here, Taylor was awarded a Certificate of Special Congressional recognition by Congressman Dean Heller.
Holly - Holly is a Lead Teacher in our Get Set 2 classroom and has been with Goddard since we opened in January of 2009. She has an Associate’s degree in Child Development from Dallas County Community College. Holly has twenty years of experience in Child Development, nine of which she worked as director of the Collin County Children’s Development Lab. Holly is a mother of three grown children and grandmother to several grandchildren. She truly enjoys working with children and their families and focusing on the developmental growth of the young ones!.
Nissi Nissi is an assistant teacher for the Get Set classrooms. A sophomore at Collin College, Nissi has not decided on a major yet but is focusing on something that is related to children. Nissi wanted to remain close to family and friends and is glad that she is still home while attending college. In her free time she is active with her church youth group and likes to read books and be with her friends.
Virginia Virginia is the assistant teacher in the Get Set 1 & 2 classrooms. For the past 4 years, Virginia has been a photographer specializing in children and family portraits. Having two children of her own, a 7 year old and a 1 year old, Virginia knew she wanted to work with children and teaching was a natural fit.
Salima Salima is an assistant teacher in Get Set 1 classroom. She worked at Northern Virginia Academy when she lived in Virginia and was the lead teacher in their infant room for four years. She attended college in California and received an Associate’s degree in Business. Salima and her husband are very busy with cub scouts for their son and youth group events with their daughter.
Suzy Suzy is the Lead Teacher in our Young Toddlers classroom. After working at Nordstrom for nine years, holding various management positions, Suzy decided to follow her passion to teach. Suzy attended The University of Mississippi on a music scholarship and graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree. She currently attends Collin College where she is working on her teaching certification.
Fjolla - Fjolla is an assistant teacher in the Young Toddlers and First Steps classroom. Fjolla is one of four children and is currently enrolled at Texas A&M Commerce where she is majoring in Education. One of her favorite things to do is read books. Her hope is that one day she will be able to positively affect her students the way her teachers positively impacted her life.
Kim Kim is the lead teacher in the First Steps classroom. Kim is originally from Mancos, Colorado and attended Colorado Mesa University where she earned her Bachelor’s of Arts degree. Kim has worked with children for the past ten years while attending college in Colorado and knew that working with children of all ages but mainly with those under three years old.
Maria Maria is the Assistant Teacher in the Infant room. Born and raised in Peru, Maria, her husband of nineteen years and her two sons, moved to United States five years ago. Since being in the United States, Maria has worked with children and it gives her such happiness to be around the little ones, which makes her an amazing teacher for our little ones.
Jennifer Jennifer is the Assistant Teacher in the Infant classroom. A mom with a grown daughter, Jennifer has worked in the medical field for most of her career. Now that her daughter is grown, she decided to return to college to finish her education. Working with infants is a dream come true for Jennifer who loves being around the little ones.
Tiffany - Tiffany is our Lead Teacher in the After-School classroom. A recent graduate from Loyola University in New Orleans, she worked with middle school children in a big Sister program during college. Tiffany is continuing her education and currently attends graduate school. Tiffany moved to Texas to be closer to her family. Having a very close knit family - with eighteen aunts and uncles - she credits her parents who have been married for thirty-one years, for her passion to work with people.
Jexin - Jexin is a substitute teacher who has been with Goddard for over 2 years. Jexin attends Collin County Community College and is majoring in Nursing. She was born in India and her family moved to the states in 2007. Since being in America, she has gotten involved with school, her friends and volunteering with the youth group at her church.
