Meet Ross Owner
Ross Flax is the owner of The Goddard School of Rockville, which he proudly opened in October 2003. A Philadelphia native, Ross holds a B.A. in Business Administration from Temple University and brings decades of entrepreneurial experience and a deep passion for early childhood education to his leadership.
Ross began his journey with The Goddard School in 1997, opening his first location in Columbia, Maryland. Since then, he has successfully established three additional schools in Clarksburg, Bethesda, and Tysons Corner—each founded on his commitment to quality, community, and the developmental needs of young children.
Married to his wife Sandra since 1987, Ross is also the proud father of two Goddard School graduates, Gabriela and Harrison. His personal and professional dedication to the Goddard mission is reflected in every aspect of the schools he leads, ensuring families receive the highest standard of care and education.

Our children are never sad to be dropped off, ask for more time to play, and have learned more about everything than we ever did at their age. Mainly, the comfort of knowing they’re happy and safe is all we want for our kids.
Goddard - Rockville is an excellent and well-managed institution. Our kids are learning very fast and having lot of fun. I would like to highlight and praise: Mr. Eric’s efforts are exceptional and no words could describe them. Best teacher! Ms. Jane’s care and kindness are top-level. We drop our kids and leave without worrying about anything. The admin staff is very professional and listening to parents. The number of nice events is enormous.
I would highly recommend The Goddard School because all the teachers are warm, loving, and incredibly sweet with the children. The school uses fun and creative ways to teach, and it organizes many events that help bring families together and create a true sense of community. Another important aspect is the school’s excellent facilities and the wide variety of high-quality resources available in each classroom.
Excellent teaching, support and admin staff, great location and very suitable timings for our family. My daughter is thriving and excited to go to school everyday, learning new skills, languages and independence. She looks forward to all the fun events, loves her teachers and friends that she is making there.

CIRCLE OF EXCELLENCE FOR EDUCATION
The Circle of Excellence Award for Education acknowledges Goddard Schools that provide the highest-quality and most consistent educational programs in every classroom. To be considered for the award, each School must earn one of the top two ratings of its state’s licensing program, become accredited by at least one of the four primary accreditors or achieve P21 (Partnership for 21st Century Learning) Exemplar status. Schools that earn this award represent some of the top education programs in our system.
