Kindergarten is a balanced full-day program at select locations. A small group setting and secure environment give Goddard School Kindergartners the individual attention they require at this stage in their development.

Kindergarten presents ample academic challenges, so teachers take care to balance their lesson plans with lots of fun, developmentally appropriate activities and time for reading and thinking.
  • Each Goddard School works with its local school district to ensure each child’s smooth transition between Kindergarten and First Grade.
  • Children learn to recognize left to right and top to bottom patterns as well as the association between the spoken and written word in order to compose and illustrate stories.
  • Children learn to solve problems using independent reasoning, they learn to recognize the needs of differing geographic regions and develop positive self images.
  • Quiet reading nooks and writing centers, social time in dramatic play centers and running with friends on large, specially designed playgrounds provide Kindergarteners with productive learning experiences.
  • Enrichment programs, such as foreign language, yoga, world cultures, and manners are incorporated into kindergarten lesson plans.*
  • Kindergarteners utilize computers every day in order to practice skills and expand their learning environment.

    *Programs vary by location.
