Meet Lynn and Jim School Owners
Hi, We're Lynn and Jim Moratis, owners of the Goddard School in Columbia, MD. It’s a dream come true for us to provide families with a quality early learning experience that incorporates fun in a safe loving environment. Lynn comes to Goddard following a twenty-five year career in the health-care world. Jim has a thirty-year career in Defense contracting and operations management. We are also the proud parents of two sons Robert and Cameron who are pursuing their careers leaving us with an empty nest. We are dog lovers and have a family of three rescues from across the United States. We believe that a quality educational program in an environment filled with love is the key ingredient to success. We love spending time with family; friends; our dogs and our granddaughter who brings us joy every day.

Infant
6 w - 12 m
In the Infant program, our teachers provide your baby with all the cuddles and care they need with opportunities to begin exploring the world around them.
Toddlers
12 - 24 m
As your little one rapidly develops physically and cognitively, our Toddler classroom is where their natural curiosity is fostered and their budding skills are nurtured.

In the Twos classroom, experienced, caring teachers guide your child through playful exploration, helping navigate big emotions while providing hands-on learning experiences that nurture their innate curiosity.

As your child continues to gain independence, build self-care skills and learn more about themselves, the Bridge classroom provides the support they need to thrive in a preschool setting.

This daycare has been an excellent environment for my son. The teachers are highly attentive, communicative, and truly care about the children’s growth. We love our bumblebees teachers! We’ve seen so much improvement in his social and language skills. Highly recommend!
Bryn is having an amazing experience at Goddard. The entire staff is wonderful, and the curriculum is very engaging. We feel like she will be in great shape for Kindergarten next year. Most importantly, she loves it!
The Goddard School has been incredible at helping my shy daughter break out of her shell. The pre k program is incredible and clearly very effective as my daughter can already read and write all letters after just a few weeks.
Jim and Lynn show every day through their actions how much they love and care of every person in their facility. They know every name of parents, children, staff, you name it. The staff clearly is cared for and in return our child is the happiest, smartest kid on the planet.
They have wonderful communication with the families, many events to involve families in the child’s education and experiences, their teachers are well trained!
We have moved around a lot, and have been in our fair share of daycares, and Goddard Columbia is where we’ve been the happiest. The teachers are so kind, and Jim and Lyn really are the best - patient, positive, they know the kids and families well, they always take time to say hello and chat (even when they are clearly done for the day and on their way out). The staff seems very happy, with low turnover. My child just started K and he is extremely well prepped thru their PreK program.
